Looking for tax deductions and want one of the greatest non-mechanical keyboards on the market? I've got you.

Has been cheaper in the past, but considering the RRP is allegedly $229.95, $155 delivered is a great buy.

Don't need a number pad? MX Keys Mini is also on sale at Amazon; just got one to keep at work.

  • This or the new mechanical version that is soon to come out?

    • Personal preference I guess. I'm sure there'll be more sales for this one in the near future.

    • Depends if you like membrane or mechanical.

I have the MX Keys and it feels great to type on. Best part of it is the three device connection. Only have one keyboard and mouse now for my desk.

      • +1

Best part of it is the three device connection

there are wireless mech k/b that have this feature too eg Keychron K10

        • +3

The ones that do usually only offer bluetooth (of varying stability & latency vs 2.4Ghz dongle), rarer to find wireless mech kb that offers both 2.4Ghz USB dongle AND 3 device switching like the logitech does. Those that do don't usually offer QMK/VIA - the search for a unicorn continues!

    • Both great choices but don't forget to factor in the noise of typing, the MX Keys membrane switches are great if you type a lot during teleconferences.

      • +2

Isn't that what the mute function is for? Do you regularly speak at the same time you are typing?

        • +3

Yes, I can type and speak at the same time.

          • @mrpenpengendo: Didn't if you can, asked if you do. If you do, fair enough, but I argue most people don't.

            • +1

              @John Kimble:

              • People entering or retrieving information for the person they’re talking to
              • People sitting next to the person who’s speaking
              • People in one-to-one conversations etc etc etc
I hope you’ve got the weekend off as this is clearly a triggering work issue for you! Ps. Try ozbargain.com.au/cat/alcohol ;)

But the 'mute' function tells the party that you have muted them.

If you have silent equipment, they don't hear you typing or clicking away :-)

          • +3

@whyisave: Yes, but ideally everyone except the speaker should be muted IMO, especially the people working from home. You usually hear all sorts of things otherwise.

Love this keyboard, absolutely the greatest non mechanical keyboard I've used, and would choose this over mechanical as personal preference.

    • ….then, you have not used the Logitech Craft keyboard :-P

  • +1

Same price at Umart if you need a local pickup

    • +1

And 5% cheaper if you pricematch at Officeworks.

      • do Officeworks pricematch against Amazon?

        • They should.

        • +1

I meant against Umart. I did it the other day with MX Master 3 mouse.

Have this in my home office, is a great typing experience (although I do prefer mechanical) - but having multi-device connectivity and easy 1-button switching has been amazing.
I also find the Bluetooth connection (without the usb dongle) works really well, have used Microsoft products at work and their connections regularly drop out and need to be re-established every now and again.
Also the battery life is fantastic, I'm only ever charging it once every 3 months or so.

  • Officework price match will be better.

  • Good deal I could put this to use

  • Kogan mechanical one is $17 if anyone interested

    • +2

not wireless, questionable build quality…and kogan.

i've got several kogan mechanical keyboards and nearly all of them came with at least one non-registering switch. i only recommend them if you want to try mech and not sure which switch you're after.

  • Off tangent. Suggestions for a keypad numeric, mechanical, prefer wireless but cable is not a deal breaker?

    • Daskeyboard brand, best I've used.

  • I recommend this kb. Had to get used to it but now is a non issue. Not everyone needs an obnoxiously click clacky mech keeb (though I do miss my old corsair k60)

  • can you price match with JB?

    • +1

Depends on their mood. I've had both success and no success with getting JB Hi-Fi to PM Amazon. Umart have them as well (as @mauricem pointed out), so you could try them if they say no to Amazon.

      • i have JB HI-Fi giftcards thats why i am trying to price match there, i just called they told me to go in store so i might try that later cheers

        • Yeah I meant get them to PM Umart if they won't PM Amazon

  • Brilliant keyboard for long periods writing, much better than clacky mechanical keyboards.

  • Yeah.. But it's got issues iirc. Was it the space bar and something else too? $155 is a lot for a keyboard with issues.

    • I've had mine for almost a year now and no issues whatsoever.

    • yeah.. my spacebar is squeaky at times, 6 months in..

  • Note the oversized escape key, resulting in the function keys being offset from their standard positions (normally directly in line with the corresponding number key). One can adjust to it, but it's not ideal if you switch between various keyboards and confuses your muscle memory.

  • Any opinions on whether this I'll drop further with the newer Mx keyboard being released.

*Yes I know they are two different types

    • +1

It's been cheaper in the past if you want to hold out for a better price

  • Does anyone how to tell which country version is what as i would like to purchase mine from JB Hi-FI

    • +1

JB HiFi Australia should be selling the AU version…

      • cheers i will go in store to take a look at it tomorrow

  • Umart also has the Klarna $30 off going if you spend >$200. I haven't kept up with Klarna, AP etc offers so dont know if that's a good deal or just the regular offer?

  • -1

    No palm rest, no thanks.

    • You can buy it separately for about $35 or as part of a bundle with the MX Master 3 mouse for about $350

      • But it's not an attached rest. More a fancy foam bar. I've used that type before, it's arse.

Logitech make some great products mind you, been loving my G900. But this ones a swing and a miss for me.

  • +1

Dam was going to go in store today to price match at JB and both amazon and Umart has already increased its price

    • I am still seeing at $159. I had the page open before this deal was marked expired but refreshed and still showing $159.

      • Yeah but why pay $159 when you can pay $155 or less?

        • But you marked this deal expired right? So, how do you get it for $155? I was just telling smeng that it is still available for another $4.

          • @hiaaron: Yes available for $4 more night be a deal breaker have to see if JB is willing to accept my screenshot of amazon at $155. It was silly of me not taking a screenshit of umart also
