    Logitechshop is also at $67

Oh wow are they still alive?

Kind of amazing considering Fluidtek's customer service. Wonder if Fast Eddie still runs LogitechShop. Its still linked from their webpage which is somehow up and not updated since core2duo.

        • +1

I miss Eddie, his dodgy website and bait and switch tactics. It was always a special experience at Fluidtek.

Not surprising to hear theres another place selling at the same price, since Amazon is mostly only in the business of price matching.

Wish it's wireless one. I am using this wired mouse. Happy with it.

  • Hmmm, tempting… but I'm still rocking a 15yo G5 and kinda wanna see how much longer it lasts

    • +1

I was convinced the mx518/g500/g5 were the most comfortable ever but the g502 is actually more comfortable for me. I still have a few mx518/g500 in the cupboard.

      • Ha, yes i bought g500 from logitechshop, still work but it develops a coil whine noise.

    • Then it breaks as soon as this offer expires. Fomoooooo

      • FFS, why you gotta jinx me like that lol My G5 mouse wheel started playing up this morning and of course the deal is finished QQ

  • +1

How does this compare to the g502 proteus core? Mine's nearing 8 years and I would need a quick replacement if anything happened to it.

    • same mouse but better.

    • Same shape, better sensor on this one. Also RGB I think.

      • +1

Oh? I was under the impression that the g502 proteus core had the best sensor out of all g502's. Thought that all the ones after the original were cheaper versions or something. That's nice to hear.

        • Yeah I thought this as well, I really like my G502 Proteus Core but was never brave enough to look at getting one of these Hero's. Good to know it is actually better.

        • Nah we are getting to crazy dpi levels now. Like unnecessary.

    • time to upgrade!

what's the diff? local vs int?

    • +18

      the accent

      • +11

so the mouse click sound is different?

        • +21

          Cloik cloik vs click click

    • Colour. You do get white ones on overseas ones, and afaik, local ones are black only.

  • +1

Just a heads up the click switches in these may fail, if the switches fail they end up double clicking when you single click.

I have replaced mine 2 times through warranty.

    • how do u check this? I had 1 button that seems to click twice, but I only use it programmed in 1 app so I'm not sure whose fault it is.

      • +3

        https://codepen.io/blink172/pen/vERyxK

Click the orange box and it says how many times you click and whether it detected any double clicks for each single click

I also used this as evidence for my G502 wired warranty and they gave me the lightspeed when they ran OOS for the wired one

        • oh crap, mine is doubling for 1 button. I assume warranty is out as I can't find my receipt

        • For warranty claims is it necessary to register your G502?

And do you think I should still register even though I bought my mouse last year? Just curious as to whether I lost my 2 years warranty because I couldn't be bothered to register. Although I'm pretty sure I would still be covered under consumer law/having proof of purchase but just less of a headache I guess.

          • @HairyChickens: actually, consumer law I wonder how this goes. For stuff like TVs you can easily argue they last over 1yr.
mice I wonder how well you can argue it?

          • @HairyChickens: I don't think I registered mine initially. I registered mine when I went to claim the warranty lmao, which happened to double click very close to 2 years (I had like 2 months of warranty left)

    • Any mouse you recommend thats better, don't care for cost

But also has the fast free spin?

I have a current Logitech with this problem

    • +2

Very common problem with Logitech Mice. I love 'em but the switches often fail.
Switches are easy to replace if you have the tools.

Two clicks for the price of one how's that bad?

    • 100% this is exactly what happened to mine after 3.5 years of use 😟

Edit: I should mention I purchased this anyway lol just because I love this mouse and the price is decent

  • If only this was wireless at this price.

    • If only this was wireless at this price.

If only you could buy a car for this price…

Unfortunate that Logitech use low quality switches now. Double click issue happened to both my G502 and G604. Luckily I had soldering equipment and replaced the switches myself.
If only Steelseries software worked as well as GHub with button macros I would have switched (heh) a long time ago.

    • +1

Lost right click switch on my G903 after only a couple of months. It's still fine for general use but ADS, even with toggle, is near useless for me now

      • I've been using my G903 for nearly a year now and it hasn't happened yet. Does it eventually affect all of them?

        • I think I may have been unlucky. There are a lot of people complaining about it online so it's a widespread issue. I think the problem is more in faulty switches rather than wear and tear, so I assume most people will be fine.

        • g303 in use for 6 years without issue.

  • G502 was the best purchase I ever made. 5 years old mouse still going strong.

    • New one feels different quality wise. Even the cable is just plastic and not braided

    • My G502 died after two years. The scroll wheel (which is also the middle button) became temperamental, then stopped working altogether. I replaced it two years ago with an OzBargain G402 which is still going well despite one issue where the left mouse button stopped working temporarily six months ago. The internet says "blow on it" which I did, and the button started working again! Always been a Logitech mouse person (I'm in my fifties now) and these are the first problems ever.

Great mouse, however are Amazon pulling at fast one and selling refurbished versions of this? An Aussie reviewer claimed that his was not new.

    • That is for the refurb ones selling for app $30. Don't think any ordered being fulfilled.

  • Got 5 mouse at home, but still tempted.
    WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?

    • Wait until you get stuck into the custom keyboard scene and then you will have 5 keyboards to match!

      • I've been selling my keycaps and switches that I no longer use at least :P

    • nothing wrong with you, I am the same here!

  • Thanks for this.
    Officeworks price match to $62.64

  • Amazon selling the Razer Basilisk V3 for $71. Most places comparing the V3 with the G502 seem to favour the V3, so depends on whether the +$4 is worth it for you.

  • Own this mouse and it's the first mouse in like a decade (maybe more) that I've liked (have owned many Razers, Microsoft and other mice that just weren't comfortable).

Lots of buttons, perfect hand comfort (large enough to sit the hand on without my hand cramping). A fantastic amount of buttons in logical reach. Being able to balance the mouse with locational weights too is a lovely touch. Software doesn't such either!

  • Anyone have a good solution for the cable fraying?

  • This is a large mouse, most people with average sized hands will probably find it to big.

    • That's what she said
