Back again with this previously popular tablet on sale and this time I've managed to squeeze the price down a bit lower making it the lowest price yet for the 6GB/128GB variant. Feedback from the previous deals is that this store ships more quickly than MeMall.

Featuring Android 10 (Android 11 via OTA), 11" 2K 2000x1200 IPS 400nits display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable), Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 CPU with Adreno 610 GPU, Widevine L1 DRM for Amazon/Netflix HD, 7700mAh battery with QC 3.0 fast charging, 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos, 8MP front camera, 13MP rear camera, WiFi 5, BT 5.1, GPS, Pogo Pins for keyboard case, USB-C and PC mode.

For reviews I recommend checking out ETA Prime as it shows general usage, video playback, gaming and emulation.

Netflix and Widevine L1 Issues

The tablet has Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix HD and you need to follow these instructions to make the preinstalled app work. There is a chance that Netflix will still block this tablet like they have for the some of the other Chinese Xiaoxin models resulting in SD playback.

    Hi Clear,

I made a bit of research on this and the consensus seems to be that it happens when you upgrade to Android 11. I did a big post here on my experience fixing this. Hopefully it helps anyone running into this issue.

    • +2

Nice job researching that one. So you're on Android 11 now or back to Android 10? I'm sure the same procedure you went through should work on this.

      • +1

Still on Android 11. Luckily didn't have to downgrade. I did find some other posts (Post 1 & Post 2) for people complaining that the original P11 hadn't received the firmware update to fix WideVine. So I'd recommend everyone to do their research before upgrading!

This is gold, thanks @betoyg. This was primarily my concern in pulling the trigger on this one, but if there's a workable solution, then all good. It seems as though Lenovo's released an OTA fix but it seems to be for the Pro versions (i.e. P11 or Xiaoxin) and not the non-pro models.

    • Thanks Beto. I have this model and managed to get Prime working but could not get High Def in Stan. Did the country code change - it did a factory reset and installed a bunch of bloatware. On reboot Stan would still not give me the option for High Quality. Removed all the bloatware (settings - apps) and after downloading all the Google app updates it has started working.

      Champ!! :)

      • Still cannot select over 1080p in YouTube on 4k videos. 1440 and 2160 are not available. Lame

        • I've just tested on mine and can select both so not really sure what could be causing that. Try removing all updates from YT app, clearing cache and storage, see if your drm info still shows L1.

Sorry I can't provide much more guidance since I can't replicate

  • Just to clarify - this will play Netflix SD no problems? Just Netflix HD with issues?

    • Yep that's right. See betoyg's comment above for a possible fix.

    • Netflix HD works on mine after changing the country code to AU and updating android OTA to latest available

      • Which order did you do this in? i.e. change country code first straight out of the box to Australia (invokes a factory reset) and then wait for the OTA upgrade or vice-versa? Was the OTA upgrade dated sometime in late May? That's when Lenovo released the fix for the P11 Pro and if the same one was pushed out to the P11, then we know it works (even though Lenovo won't admit to it explicitly).

        • Set it up with the default country code. Performed all the OTA upgrades (3 if I recall).

          Changed country to Australia

          Reconfig phone with account

Download / update latest version of Netflix from Play store

          And that was is

          • @cycloneaussie: Nice! Just to confirm, you have the Xiaoxin Pad 11 normal version (i.e. non pro) right? Amazon and other services also playing HD?

            • +1

@jjtav: yes just the normal Xiaoxin Pad 11, bought from this deal
sorry steps above mentioned phone, should have been tablet.

Disney+, Kayo and Netflix are playing in HD.
              Youtube is confirmed at 1080p

              details of the tablet
              model : Lenovo TB-J606F
              Android 11
              Build number TB-J606F_S320182_220414_ROW

              • +1

@cycloneaussie: Really good to know that the solution worked. There are really some patchy/non-committal responses from Lenovo and a lot of angst among users on the Lenovo forums.

Where can I find a cheap keyboard cover to go with this?

    • no where i searched high and low for one that attaches to the base, otherwise random bluetooth on aliexpress

    • +1

I bought a case like this one that came with a mouse for my P11 pro. Pretty sure it's the exact same keyboard I have. You can also probably find the same one in AliExpress.

Keyboard can sometimes fail in responsiveness where you might have to tap a key twice to ensure it's actually typed, but for the price it's definitely good enough.

Unfortunately if you're after a magnetic keyboard I think the only option is the official. Don't think that one serves as cover from the pictures though.

Is this the original keyboard that goes with this device

  • Yeah that's the one I checked, but I didn't like the fact that it just sticks and doesn't really cover the corners on the tablet so skipped it. Especially with that price tag

  • Apart from the Guarantee risk, are there any other concerns with purchasing this tablet given this is much cheaper than the Australian one? Almost half the price…

    • i bought this for my nephew to do yr7 BYOD middle school classes with the keyboard case. should be good. better than shelling out $450 at JB without a keyboard case.

  • Does this model have USB C video input (as a portable monitor)?

    • I think this was addressed in one of the earlier Ozbargain posts about these Lenovo tablets. Vaguely remember answer was yes, but you should search all the posts (there's a few) to confirm

      • Thank you.

  • Can we put data SIM card this unit ?

    • I don't think so.

Looks a like a great tablet for the money. Are there any similar tablets available that is designed to run Windows or has Windows pre-installed? Don't quite have the cash to fork out for the JB Surface Pro deal. Thanks,

  • Can attest to this store, bought few tablets from them last one p11 pro 2021 shipped next day arrived within 10 days excellent packaging

    Tracking proof

  • How is SD662? I have no knowledge of snapdragon.

Definitely need a deal on a good keyboard cover

    • It's ok, basically a weaker version of the SD835, a flagship from 2017. I've seen phone with it run still fine today.

      • Hrm. So, passable for now but not a good idea for long.

Any chance of getting the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 for ~$450? 👉👈🥺

  • Bought from previous deal and it just arrived. Took about 22days

    • Ditto, stuck in Singapore for quite awhile

  • This or the Samsung Tab A8?

    • this if you enjoy tinkering; A8 if you're handing it straight to your grandma

  • Tablet is still not as snappy as I'd hoped for, even with 6gb of ram.

    • P11 Pro is good tho. those JBL speakers and 730G is good enough for me netflix

      • Yeah I reckon the Pro or Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 are the ones to get. My experience with 600 series Snapdragons has only been slow performance, but if just watching media and willing to make that tradeoff it's a great price.

      • Yeah I would suggest others to try that one if they want a "no lag" experience when using the tablet.

The p11 is fine once you have netflix loaded, but seeing the lag as you swipe and delay in some app switching is off putting to the experience

Anyone know how does this compare with Iplay 40 Pro?

  • +2

Has anyone got ABC KIDS app working on these?

  • Does the Lenovo P11 Australian version (from JB etc) suffer the same wide one issues?

    • I believe all devices face the Widevine issues. No one seems to be able to respond to my question around whether the P11 device (i.e. non-pro version) whether it be official Lenovo or Xiaoxin has the same fix as the P11 Pro (which also seems to work on the Xiaoxin Pad Pro). The fix is to change the country code to Australia (triggering factory reset) and apply the OTA upgrade (which Lenovo released for the P11 Pro in May). Lenovo's official stance is that it's only for the Lenovo P11 Pro, but users have confirmed on XDA and Lenovo forums that it works for Xiaoxin models too.

  • Can anyone recommend a tablet for journal / diary writing? I would want pen writing to be as real as paper as possible. Just the security of electronic format.
    Would this tablet suit?

Also if there's any recommended app that'd be great

    • I've read good things about Remarkable if you are looking for something to write on. It's a dedicated writing device, not the typical tablet.

Might be an overkill (sporadic note taking) or life changing (detailed daily journals).

  • Can anyone advise why I am getting an AU$24.98 VAT Charge when checking out?

    • GST

      • So when I purchase it does not accept either code when entered into the Promo Code space "We don't recognize this coupon/code or it may be for single use only. You can check in "My coupons/codes".

Also by adding the VAT of AU$24.98 it comes to AU274.79 not AU$243.53 Delivered.

Am I doing something wrong or are these codes no longer valid? Any help will be appreciated.

        • Seems like the coupons expired today. More will be available in the coming days probably.

          • @Clear: Any hints on new deals coming up with Jun codes? I've finally decided to pull the trigger on the P11 Pro because of the confirmed fix for the Widevine issue and which seems to also work on the Xiaoxin models.

            • +1

@jjtav: No new codes yet. I suspect next week as it's the Dragon Boat Festival for the next few days.

              • @Clear: Awesome, thanks a lot for all of your deal posts and follow ups.

  • Coupon seem not to be working "We don't recognize this coupon/code or it may be for single use only. You can check in "My coupons/codes"."

  • Ordered from same store just a few days prior to this deal with price drop. It arrived today, the screen/digitizer had issues from the get go :(

Bought from this store and it lasted about 5-6 weeks before it stopped charging. Not getting much support from the seller and they are telling me to go get it repaired myself locally.. Not happy
