1640

$5.95 Small Double Beef N Bacon Burger meal is back on the menu at McDonald's. Exclusive to the MyMacca's app.

If you're like me and enjoy frappe or a thickshake, Make your money go further by exchanging the drink to a Large Frappe or a Large Thickshake. Typically a Large Frappe will set you back $5.20 on its own. With this deal if you swap the drink to a Large Frappe the total cost comes to $7.70 with the burger and fries!

Update - McDonald's have now updated this to a "Deal" offer under the app which limits it to one per order. Also, McDonald's have restricted the drink options to small soft drinks only.

Gone up since last time but so has everything else I guess

I’ve just been getting $4.95 happy meals.

      • +16

i bought a happy meal and i still aint happy bro wtf :'(

      • Yeah, I swapped to getting happy meals too, but upgrading the drink to a large coffee frappe for another $2.05 (local store pricing).

Look silly getting the box but eh.

Will go back to this though as they're still allowing the drink upgrade at least through the app.

        • +1

If you order at the drive through / counter you can often switch to a shake without extra charge. It might depend by store or operator but I don't think it's possible in the app at all.

          • @DingoBlue: It can be done in the app. Shakes won't show if they aren't serving them though.

            • @chocsyrup: Sorry I mean if the operator does it somehow doesn’t cost extra (generally… doesn’t seem to be completely consistent).

      • +1

I do this too and the amount of times I’m told (in the drive thru) that I “can’t” upgrade the drink to a large coke is ridiculous. My standard reply is “I can do it in store at the kiosk, so why not in the drive thru?”… they magically find the right button.

        • +2

Cowboy franchisees making their own rules up. McD has gone downhill quite far in this regard.

          • @DingoBlue: Agree! This same store once told me I couldn’t order the McValue box until midday (it was 11:30am) and on another occasion said I couldn’t order it because of product shortages. I said what products don’t you have and I was told shakes and ice creams…. Wtf

With these deals, my stomach has also gone up too

        That's not how gravity works

        • lots of gas maybe?

        just blame covid-19KG

  • wonder how long for …..like the idea of their $5, well $5.95 with inflation meals except when they had the mc chicken tasted very plain, even with extra mc chicken sauce …..small mc feast meals were my favorites ….

    • mc chicken sauce

      You mean mayo??

      • +5

No, he means McChicken Sauce. It's different.

      • +1

It's not mayo. There's spices and maybe herbs in it. You'd know if ordered it on the side and you A/B tested with fries to dip. Similar of course, but not mayo.

        • it tastes like kewpie mayo

  • +2

    Mmmmmm McLARD

These price increases are going to cause more McRage https://youtu.be/FbRFqWYRazE

This is why we need the extra $1.

Don’t forget to use your Student Edge card for an extra small drink ;)

    • Can't use in combo with the app

  • +6

Decent deal but its one of the burgers I would not touch again after I tried it. Its loaded with grease :(

Bring back the $5 Mcfeast meal! Even for $6 I'll be happy to buy it.

    • too much bbq sauce on it every time i get it. its just not that nice a burger unfortunatly

      • +2

There is no BBQ sauce in a double beef and bacon lol?

        • +1

arrr the bbq bacon burger I was thinking of, my bad. that one, not nice

          • +4

@perfectlydark: Hahaha yeah I hate BBQ sauce aswell, but I love my double beef and bacon's, I was so upset when mcdonalds removed it from their menu ages ago, but good to see they brought it back!

    • +3

Agree, McDonald's bacon isn't very nice. There needs to be some salad to balance it out a bit. It was amazing when they had McOz small meals for $5 for a while.

      • +1

I always add regular lettuce and tomato to a BBQ Bacon Angus burger (both can be added free) to get a bit of salad balance.

    • The grease factor is what I love about this burger, I agree with your Mcfeast sentiments though!

    • +1

I always remove the bacon. As a bacon lover, it just doesn’t work on this burger.

  • +3

Don't forget to order the steam buns.

    • +1

      Mmm steamed buns

      • +1

        mmm steamed clams

  • +2

    Weren't these meals $4.95?

  • Shows up in the app but it's not available at my local store.

    • Sorry, wasn't much info on it when I came across the deal, previous deals were available in store as well as the app. Updated post to MyMacca's app only

      • When I tried to order through the app it said it's not available at the selected store. I tried 3 stores in my area.

Edit: nvm it's now allowing me to order it.

        • I just went to a store and the app wouldn't let me get it. Might just be the app being awful

  • +3

Get the KFC 4.95 fillup, much better especially with the free chips and drink!

  • +5

The worst part about this burger is that it contains bacon. Ordering bacon during non-breakfast hours of the day usually means it has been sitting in warming trays for hours and hours and hours.

The employees just keep resetting the timer when they shouldn't. I've had bacon that tastes like plastic before, probably been cooking for 12 hours straight.

  • Glad this deal's back, just a shame it's been price hiked by $1. But everything is going up nowadays so no use complaining.

  • +1

adding a small coffee only ads $0.60! small cap + double been n bacon + chips for 6.55 is pretty sweet when a small cap generally is 4$.

    • +3

Large Frappe only adds $1.75. pretty good value when they are $5.20 each.

    • +3

Used to be free. Then you would get a stamp on your card. $20 - 4 burgers, 4 chips and 5 coffees.

  • Also the 5pm end of sale…. is that new? I can't remember.

    • +2

Yeah that’s new, used to be able to order after 5pm

  • Can you order 4:59pm and then pick up say 5:30pm?

    • I think it'll give an error message and won't work. Worth a try though

      • I have a feeling your right.

        • according to this comment it's available in-store (without the app) and obtainable after 5pm

  • You can find deal in app under beef and it’s the top/first option.

  • Mines +$2.45 for the frappe so coming to 8.40
    Still not bad

    • Varies from store to store. Checking around I have stores have it for $1.75, $1.95, $2.50 and the worst $2.70.

      • +2

That's quite a variation, just for an upgrade to Frappe.

        • Anyone know if it's a margin thing bc of ingredient prices varying across the country, or if it's a greedy slider the franchisee gets to adjust

  • +1

Do not order after 5pm as they continue to serve stale, rock solid bacon left on the grill from noon. But it’s worth it alone for the $1.7 frappe/milkshake add on

You can still order the double beef and bacon at the drive through speaker after 5pm.

    • The app has a time restriction and won't allow you to place the order after 5pm. Are you confirming this deal is obtainable in-store and even after 5pm? All adverts suggest this is an app exclusive offer

      • Yes I ordered around 6pm and spoke to the employee at the drive through. App is not needed as it is on the regular menu, just hidden from the menu display panels.

        • Thanks, I'll update the post

  • +2

Hmm did they change this today so that you can't change the drink to a coffee? It now appears under "deals" for me, and doesn't let me change the drink to different types/sizes like it did yesterday.

    • Yep, looks like they realised people could use it to get a cheap burger/fries add-on when paying $5 for a large coffee…

    • +1

yep and cant order 2 of them now

    • Damn, they just changed it!!!!

I couldn't even redeem the frappe once because my store had disabled those drinks temporarily.

    • yeh, so annoying - used to upgrade to medium coffee, now it's a "deal" menu item, not only can't do that, but can't stack with the random 10/15/20% coupons (was almost going to make up for the price increase)
Something else for lunch now, I guess ;(

    • -1

      Damn.

I wonder when they’re going to catch on that you can order any size McCafe drink with only 2500 rewards points…

      • +1

        Shhhhh. Quick, delete that comment

    • +1

It's obvious they scour OzB to delete and block any potential hacks.
      We've been infiltrated

  • Agree with the others, now that this has been made a reward offer, which limits what you can modify, how many you can buy and removes the option to stack with % off offers, i'll be looking at other options for take away lunches. I will also be removing my upvote.

  • Offer just wouldn't work for me when I tried using my code in-store.

  • Just tried two Maccas stores and there’s not an option to change to any other drinks apart from the small soft drink options :((

    • As commented here. The first couple of days it was available under the "Beef" menu where you could edit the drink options and add more than one meal to your order.

The promotion has changed to now be a reward offer. Which means its now a one per order offer. McDonald's have also removed the options to edit the drinks to anything other then a small soft drink.

      • I did take up the suggested option for another drink during the first few days of the promo - thanks brandogs!

Glad I enjoyed it before they pulled it :)

        • You can try your luck in store like this comment. Just note that was commented before McDonald's made the above changes

          • @brandogs: I tried ordering at the counter and the manager tried to change the drink but he couldn’t as there was no option

            • @BargainsGrabber: Damn.. Well if you can order at the counter without the app, you should be able to order more than one in a single order

              • @brandogs: Oh well, no more frappes 😞

Edit: I did show the code from the Maccas app when I ordered at the counter

              • @brandogs: Unfortunately the upper corporate management probably ended this as their franchises were losing profits from this deal with the drink add on.
At least there’s still the any free large McCafé drinks available from the reward points

  • ordered through the App thanks B Dog!

  • Bought it today and still have the deal in the app until end of year.

    • It's unlimited use. Just limited to app only and one per order
