Warning, the price will change if you select another Item and go back to the 12TB

    • That's weird.. Does this happen with other items in the US storefront?

Just in case you don't know, this is a US warranty. Meaning you have to ship via Amazon back to the US in order to get a replacement. This can take anywhere from weeks to months, so factor that into the price.

    • Doesn’t seagate have international warranty on their hard drives?

      • +1

Ideally they should, but the drives amazon purchases seem to be OEM and have warranty tied directly to the region they were bought in. Because you are technically importing the drive from Amazon.

    • Not necessarily true i bought a hdd from amazon Australia shipped from the uk, when i needed warranty they told me to ship it to a local Australian hub and amazon took care of the rest.

      • On the Seagate warranty page they specify that it is not a guarantee. Does Seagate provide international warranty?-
Products purchased from distributors but returned outside of the distributors’ sales territory, may not be eligible for warranty services. here

  • These are noisier than the 90MB SCSI HDDs I had many moons ago. Horrible drives.

  • Great price, I'm looking to upgrade my current Seagate Ironwolf 30TB RAID array. Not sure whether to go with Ironwolf or Exos drives.

    • Get whatever is cheapest per terabyte.

So tempting… I really need another 12TB of storage for my Linux ISOs. ;)

  • Anyone know the difference between this and the newer ST12000VNZ008 model?

  • thanks OP, very cheap per TB. Got 3 to build a nas out of my old pc

  • I'm usually quite happy with amazon stuff, but i've ordered 2 hard drives from them before and both have been DoA. They put them in a box with no padding. Not good.
