Damn I was gonna pull the trigger but then high delivery for me here.

  • Wish it is the Torrent Compact

  • Had me excited for a sec, was about to pull the trigger on a Define 7 XL last night. Shame it's not the full range.

Good deal on the Compact, though

    • What do you even like about the Define 7, let alone the XL?

        Reduced (visual, audio) signature.

My Define R3 is still going strong after 11 years and multiple builds and is very quiet - I assume the newer ones would be even better.

I also own two of the older define series cases (a couple of old rigs sitting on the shelf). It may be quiet but thermal performance is also quite dismal. I understand running a meshify case with fans set to lowest possible will be just as quiet with better thermal performance. I can agree the define series still looks OK though.

      • I like the understated design, don't need anything flashy. The acoustics and thermals are also very good.

I have had a Define R5 for years and it has been great but am now after a larger version for more server oriented applications, especially the number of HDD bays.

      • I have also used a Define Compact as a HTPC for about 10 years. Blends in quite well with floor speakers and a lowline TV unit.

I got myself a Meshify 2 last month and I love it. That's a killer price, but less-killer when you factor in postage.

I find the "clear tint" on my white case is still a bit of a tint, so I'd imagine the "light tint" on the others is quite a bit darker. YMMV

  • This is probably off-topic but does anyone know what cpu cooler that is in the photos of the torrent compact?
Kinda looks like a Noctua DH-15……

    • looks like its just a 3D model but perhaps fractal design wanna introduce their air cooler? who gonna know lol

Using a define 7 compact. I think this would apply to the meshify compact too, but probably wouldn’t use this case if you want to use 3.5” drives. The PSU bay is very tight for cabling so you wouldn’t want to use the hard drive bay. Either stick with 2.5” or pick a larger case.
