    Wow that's expensive.
    Xbox $749 + Game Pass 3 years $46 via VPN 🤣

I had game pass for close to free for almost 3 years now via the Anz alienware offers some time ago (now expired). Don't think I'll be renewing since I play too much and the only way for me is to get rid of it all.

I think it's fairly easy to get gamepass for $60/year so if you don't mind paying up front, this deal is no good. $46 for 3 years sounds really good!

upfront tho, interest rates are on the rise and not everyone has $800 laying around

      • +11

Someone who doesn't have $800 'laying around' probably shouldn't lock themselves into a 24 month $46pm contract.

        • Or any contract for that matter.

        • why?

    • +1

$46 a year, plus if you're an existing game pass user then an additional $15 to convert gold to ultimate, so let's say $150 for three years = $900. You're essentially paying $200 more for this Telstra deal. Not a deal if you have money lying around, but good for people who don't.

You can cancel Game Pass subscription after one month and have a console by the end of the week. Alternatively, you can look at the latest Harvey Norman deal posted an hour ago which is the first stock I've seen in three weeks available. Oh no wait, they've already sold out.

My contract states: Maximum Early Termination Charges (ETC) $763.79 (1 month + $717.92 remaining on your console)

How did you get 3 years of Game pass for $46? The cheapest rate is $36/year so $108 for 3 years.

    • Where do you get gamepass from for $15.33 a year?

  • +2

Definitely not a deal. Sorry, OP.

  • Poor deal. Series X availability is getting better. If you are patient, you should be able to snag one after a couple of weeks of deal watching. Then grab Gamepass for cheap (nobody is paying $16 a month!)

    Last month I paid < $850 for a Series X + 3 years of Gamepass Ultimate.

What's the deal here? Telstra has been offering this since launch.

  • 10% shopback ms cards or amex cb stack is the way to go with vpn Xbox membership

For $400 extra, I could’ve own two Xbox rather than paying an Xbox for $1104 from Telstra

    • +1

Sure, except you're not paying $1104 for 1 Xbox.

I’ll stick to my Sega Dreamcast still going strong.

    • Keeping the dream alive.

Last year, this was pretty much the only way to get an XSX. With improving availability, and the ability to get gamepass for well under the retail price, it'd probably pay to shop around.

  • I've got a series S here, out of curiosity would upgrading to an X improve any gaming performance? as i've noticed slight control lag when playing on tv (game mode).

    • +2

Higher pixel resolution and frame rates, but won't change the input lag - that's probably TV related

    • Agree with Raynes above. Check the picture settings on your TV, look for a Game mode. Not worth upgrading unless the TV is 4k.

Warning: The Telstra website has stated "Shipping Now" for as long as I can remember so that does not necessarily mean there is stock available.

I signed up to this purely to get a console, (can cancel Xbox GamePass subscription after 1 month) - got an email saying its already left Sydney & will be delivered tomorrow.

      • Same with mine when I got mine a few months ago.
Wish I got this though, would allow me to get the tab s8 ultra within my limit too.

Edit: oh no, maybe I did get for this price.

    Looks fine to me

    Maximum Early Termination Charges (ETC)
    $763.79 (1 month + $717.92 remaining on your console)

    • +2

      Yep.
People complaining about the price of Game Pass can cancel the contract.

Cheers guys! Didn't think it was that bad, hence posting. Can't find stock anywhere so thought this wasn't a bad option!
