  • Thanks OP, been eyeing this for awhile now.

what make this $157 monitor arm more superior to this one from Amazon for $38

      • My 38" 9.2kg monitor. It's the only one that I've seen in person that I know will support my monitor fully extended.

      • I have both. the cheap stuff cannot support of my main gaming monitor, it just collapse under the weight. But my cheap LG side monitor fits it well.

      • +1

this supported my 9kg 34 inch at 30% of its max weight setting without drooping down itself

      • I have three of these with 27 inch monitors and they are pretty solid. Amazing for the price really. You can remove the orange insert if you really want to. Says it supports 9kg and I believe it.

  • +1

I got this from the last deal and it's really beefy, my dell monitor is heavy af.

  • Pricey to be sure, but if you want a stand to hold up your monitor, that is bordering on a straight-up 50 inch TV, its worth the price.

Thanks.. I have a couple of cheap monitor arms that are just horrible so am excited to replace these.. Bought 2 :)

  • got it for 130 last year

      Why didn't you post it?

    • I got it for 125

  • Has anybody tried this with AW3423DW and can give any feedback? (Or with 34" curved screens in general)

    • +2

Works with the AW3821DW, doubt you'll have any issues with as maller monitor. Plenty of threads on reddit.

yes i’m using it on a sun acer x34p which is the same size as the aw, 34 inch ultrawide needs a lot of room for its stand, this literally doubled my desk space. very solid too not even at half the max weight setting

    • +2

The AW3423DW does not use the normal Dell quick-release design. You would need to use the VESA adapter for the mount, and the VESA adapter for the monitor. It would be clunky and a bit beefy, but it would work.

      • it’s not more clunky, it adds maybe 3-4mm, it’s just it doesn’t have a quick release and uses a screw release instead

        • Maybe not so beefy, but still clunky by comparison to the intent of the mount. You still get quick release from the monitor side, which is good. :)

      • Do you happen to have any links to where to purchase the VESA adapter for the mount and monitor?

        • Both are included. AW3423DW I know comes with a quick release VESA adapter and other comments suggest there’s something that comes with the mount that enables standard VESA connections :)

    • +1

Thanks for the replies. Will just get this then

  • Can you tell me if this works with non dell vesa mounts?

    • Product page:
Use a standard VESA mount with Dell E-series monitors and other screens for a comprehensive monitor arm deployment across multiple brands. A counterbalance indicator on the side of the arm delivers precision deployment, allowing identical tension settings to be set across numerous similar monitors.

      Tech Specs:
Package Content - VESA adapter plates

      • Thanks.. brought one to try. I brought 2 crappy ones from amazon earlier in the year.. big mistake!

    • The vesa mount on my Corsair screen was recessed with the threads quite deep and so the way the adapter works it didn't attach properly. I had to cut a spacer out of a stack of paper and then it worked fine.

  • Hopefully the estimated date is completely incorrect..

Estimated ship date: Aug 16, 2022

    • +1

Yep mine shipped within a week from the last deal. Had a similar lead time so you should be right.

    • Yeah, it’s Dell’s thing, they always give you the max ETA. Don’t worry, it’ll come earlier. I got my monitor in 4 days.

    • Got an email late this afternoon and items have been shipped via Startrack Express.

Wow..so quick! Should be here tomorrow.

  • i bought this at the last sale but returned it for a full refund. just be wary that the vesa adaptor is larger than the 10x10cm screw base, and if your screw base is recessed it won't fit properly.

dell return was fairly straightforward and reecived a refund when the item was delivered.

    • your monitor would come with a vesa mount if that’s the case

    • +2

You use the included standoffs if your VESA mount is recessed. My base was recessed but the standoffs made it nice and flush for the plate to mount on.

      • That didn't work for me because the depth of where the screw threads start in my monitor plus the standoffs is longer than the proided screws. I just made my own spacer out of paper.

      • didn't know there were standoffs but I would prefer not to have to use them when i've just paid $$$ for a monitor mount. After returning I bought Ergotron LX second hand on FB marketplace and it is absolutely rock solid without any modifications required at all.

I'm not sure if I'm seeing the value here?

If your monitor is <9kg then there are countless monitor arms that can handle that.

If it's over >9kg (technically out of spec for this arm), Desky has a heavy duty arm specifically rated up to 20kg for less coin. This one has held my 10.5kg ultrawide fully extended for several months now without issues.

    • That actually looks like it uses mostly the same parts as the dell one. The structure is identical.

    • +1

I have both the Desky and the Dell. Both used with a AW3821DW.

I greatly prefer the Dell monitor arm. The Desky is not bad and has the following advantages:

      1) Comes in different colours other than black.
      2) Is normally cheaper than the Dell.
      3) the desk clamp is more low profile from the bottom.

      However, the Dell:

      1) is better built, and is more stable than the Desky (although it is very minor differences in stability).
      2) Has much better cable management.
      3) Uses one allen key size for everything and even has a space to store it (with pretty access).
      4) Easier to assemble and take apart duie to the slide latches that can lock/unlock. It even has the option to lock roation to 180 degrees (if that is useful)
      5) There is tension guage on how tensioned the arm is, which helps with setting up the arm to support proper weights.
      6) For Dell monitors specifically, it is so much easier to take the monitor on and off becaise it's one click. The Desky's vesa mount sits too far inside dell monitor's recessed VESA mounts and it's a PITA to mount and unmount monitors because you can't use the mount's sliding mechanism at all. This is not a problem with monitors with VESA mounting solutions that sit flush to the back of the monitor. However, it is still far more difficult to use than the Dell's one button release. I have not tried the Dell arm VESA mount (which is included in the box) so the Dell arm could be a PITA for non Dell monitors as well.

At this price, if you have a Dell monitor that suits the quick release mechanism, it's a no brainer, the Dell mount is superior to the Desky.

  • These Dell monitor arms are rock solid and absolute quality, so worth it over the cheap ones you see often posted.

Brateck have probably the chonkiest monitor arm on the market, 18kg weight capacity and up to 43" - holds my 38" Ultrawide without an issue. Amazing cable management channel as well.

    • Cheers mate been looking for a monitor arm for my C1 and didn't know these existed

      • +1

You want the Ergotron HX. Do not put a 48" monitor on the Bratech…

    • Or if looking for even higher capacity, any generic arm designed for drawing screen tablets as they need to support the weight of your arm drawing on them as well, without much wobble, and at full extension towards you. Quite a task.

The flex-arm for my 24" Cintiq (8 kg itself) isn't generic, but did cost $600!

  • Just picked one up, thanks OP

This is why I love ozbargain, come for the deals, stay for the legit reviews on all the similar products!

  • what thickness desk can this handle?

  • Would this work on a Xiaomi 34" curved?
I bought a older gen human scale one and the monitor dips down just a little bit enough that it annoys me.

    • I have a 34 Dell UW and it’s solid as. I regularly move my desk up and down and it has not budged.

  • Bought one just then - possibly temp. payment issue as Google Pay failed, direct CC failed but PayPal worked if you're also having problems.

  • Thanks , been waiting for a deal for my 2x27 monitors. Bought the $215.52 double mount.

  • Thanks snagged one

  • I got this for $111 using Dell vouchers - solid monitor arm and very sturdy

  • this or Ergotron Hx?

  • any1 having issues purchasing?

  • I confess I don’t know a lot about monitor arms what I require is an arm to hold two 27” monitors however the desk is fixed to the wall. I can either wall mount them or drill a hole through the desk looking for recommendations I would like to be able to bring the monitors forwards or backwards if required and for it to look neat.

  • I use an electric sit/stand desk, just far enough away from the wall for the power cables to pass down the back. In the video, it looks like this monitor arm juts out from the back of the desk a bit, anyone know if it can swivel flush or how much room you need to allow at the back?

    • There's a range of motion pdf on the product's support page with all dimensions.

    • You probably won't need any room behind the desk unless you want the screen very very close to the back of the desk.

  • If you have a student edu email address you can get an extra 7% off coupon. Brings the price down to $146.86.
