  • Shows as $6 delivery for me

    • Amazon have free delivery then (well it's included with prime subscription)

  • shuckable?

    • +1

      Yes it's shuckable,
really only drives made by those… nice ppl from WD aren't.
Forcing you to desolder the usb connector and solder on jury-rigged sata connectors instead.

      • Any idea what type of drive is inside?

        • yeah is it a 3.5"?

          • +1

            @iShibby: lolwut

            Its a 2.5" drive inside. 2TB so probably 9.5mm.

Anything larger and it will be 12mm+ which means not suitable to shuck into most laptops.

            • @CodeXD: Ah no good for my Drobo then, nevermind thanks!

              • +2

@iShibby: For future reference, any external hdd that has portable in the name will be 2.5".

    • +1

i just shucked one (Seagate Expansion Portable 2TB), inside is 7mm 2.5" drive which i can be used with my laptop that doesnt take 9mm drive

      • What laptop do you have that does not take 9mm? I always assumed 9mm is the standard size that any laptop with 2.5" SATA will accept and 7mm are slim ones.

Anything larger than 2TB are usually 12mm or 15mm.

  • Sorry probaly been asked before btu can i use this on Xbox series s to copy games across?

    • Yes. You can play non-series X/s specific titles from it as well but would need to shuffle the series titles back to the internal HDD to play. Transfer speed between internal and external are quite good. Pretty sure there is still the 5tb external on Amazon for just shy of $150 if you wanted more space and similar tb/$ value. $143 from Officeworks if you can find stock. That deal is listed here:

    • $109 from JB.

      • Shows $119 for me? My $10 perks voucher already used if that’s what you were thinking… still, not bad price.

        • Just use another email and reuse your mobile.

    • 5tb deal posted a few days ago.
