Variation on a theme from recent posts and deals. Only applicable for expired/non current GPU users.

Purchase multiple 3 month access codes from cdkeys.com (max two per transaction) for Xbox Live Gold, then covert to Game Pass Ultimate.

Process:

  1. Purchase 2x 3 month access codes 4 times, and 1x 3 month access code 1 time for a total of 9x 3 month codes.

  2. Redeem each 3 month code accepting the additional month free by turning on recurring billing. After each redemeption turn off recurring billing to be given a free month for every subsequent redemeption.

  3. This will give you Xbox Live Gold for the maximum 36 months (9x 4 months).

  4. Select upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate from subscriptions page, whereby you will need to pay 1 month of Game Pass Ultimate (was $15.95 for me, but others may get $1 special offer).

  5. Your 36 months of Xbox Live Gold will be converted to 36 months of GPU.

  6. That's 36 months of GPU @ ~$4.25 / month.

It was actually slightly cheaper earlier this afternoon, so do be sure to check cost of 3 months Xbox Live Gold before purchasing. Current price should show 60% discount. Earlier it was 65%.

      "Usual methods" meaning VPN access international stores? Most likely those are cheaper, yes. Not sure everyone implements that or is comfortable with that though.

    Xbox Live Gold 3 month keys are also available at Eneba at the moment for approx. $10 ($9.97 plus fees). They're global keys with no VPN required.

        According to the website, they don't expire, though I wouldn't want to put that to the test. We'll never know when Microsoft decides to stop accepting old Xbox live gold passes ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

      Followed the OP steps but using the Eneba link and I now have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate until 15 August 2025 for a total cost of just under $88 (or $2.30 per month..).

      I have recurring billing off and didn't get the offer of a free additional month when redeeming anyway. I already have Game Pass Ultimate so perhaps that is the reason?

      EDIT: Also 3 months of Xbox gold converts to 50 days of GPU.

        If you have existing ultimate and addon the 3 months does it still convert to 50 days ultimate.

          I just did it. Through eneba existing ultimate customers can extend ultimate 50 days for roughly $10.50 ~$75 year depending on conversion.

          Also check to make sure it adds to your subscription as it was saying the code was already redeemed yet still adding to my ultimate subscription.

    Thanks, just did this twice ($30.38) and got 15 weeks of Game Pass Ultimate after conversion.
    Not bad, 3 and a half months for $30, still a great saving.

      Did you check to see if you were eligible for the 3 months for $1 deal for lapsed/new customers before you topped up?

      You may have missed out…looks like it's still on, but not a 100% on eligibility now. But for others looking for 3 months or so, check you dashboard before you get this, the offer may still be up.

    The Eneba link (above) seems even cheaper. Just bought 9 x 3mth Live codes for AUD87.12. Got the extra month each time for recurring billing as per OP. Another AUD15.95 to upgrade to Ultimate and I have 3 years Ultimate for AUD2.86/month! Now that's a deal!

    Bought only 8 of these making it 32 months with bonus month in each recharge. Got the ultimate with $1 and 2 addtional month making it 35 months in total of GPU. total spent = 98.32 cdkeys + $1 microsoft. Didnt realize I have $30 microsoft credit in my account.
    Hopefully it does not expire by 2025

    Anyone know when the cdkeys or eneba prices are likely to increase? My gpu subscription finishes on the he 10th, but worried about buying these early & having the keys not work by then…
