now I feel bad for buying a 3070…

    • +2

Why? 3070 is an extremely close match at 1080p, and pulls out ahead at 1440p and 4K resolutions, plus it is miles ahead in ray tracing performance and has DLSS and G-Sync support.

    • +1

So will the people who panic bought this. There'll be plenty of decent sku's for around this price very soon.

In 3 years when time comes to sell the card, they'll have an asrock. All the better models are still in retailers hands awaiting price drops.

      • +1

I purchased a sapphire 6700xt nitro+ for $830 a month ago. I'm not worried about how much they are now but they should be discounting the premium models too (which hasn't really changed much)

        • Retailers will offload their crap first if people are desperate enough to take it. Usually people aren't this desperate and crazy with most products. As you've probably noticed gamers/millennials have the least restraint of anyone.

Even the new Suzuki Jimny didn't experience this demand. If it was a gpu millennials would throw 200k at the dealership for one. The millenial/gpu market is n a whole other level compared to anything else. You have crypto along with a working generation of addicted gamers

  • +3

Actually it's even cheaper: $593.10 + delivery at checkout.

Came up as $605.60 for me

    • Oh nice, mine definitely still showing $610.75 including shipping.

    • +2

there is Surcharge (1.00%) $6.06 if using CC :(

      still a rippa deal

      • +1

Yep thats the reason madska :)

    • +2

That $593/$12.50 will definitely catch out a few of the emotional thinking hodlers. They probably should've done $599.95 lol.

  • Awesome price. Paid $670-700 like two weeks ago!

  • Going to wait for 3060 ti to go down to $600

    • +3

Unlikely due to crypto. But I would definitely wait for the AMD cards to come down more.

A RX6800 memory bus is ungimped like the nvidia cards and has infinity cache. It's the first AMD gpu with 1440p/4k memory architecture. This 6700xt still has corners cut on the memory bus and isn't a real 1440p card.

One of those for $700-$800 would actually be better than the nvidia equivalent unlike the lower AMD models

      • +1

I'm looking at EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti XC GAMING for $600-$650. Think lowest was $699. I need something for my SFF (Dan A4) setup.

        • +2

Same, but for a Densium+ case.

        • Same but Dan A4 H20. Will probably wait until the next gen of cards come out though.

  • +7

(profanity) that's what I paid for a 6600XT at launch

    • +18

If it makes you feel better, I paid $1100 for a 3060ti

      • +16

        yes it does, my condolences

      • LOL I am the same, but it was mid last year in the midst of Victorian lockdowns and I had nothing else to do so I don't feel so bad

    • +1

      How long ago was that?

    • +2

I paid $700 for a 3060 single fan Jobby loll

  • Sold out it seems

  • +3

Wow literally made an account seconds after this was posted and its gone. Ozbargained!

    • +1

Quantity must have been pretty low. Not many clicks to the website

  • +7

Price is going down and down!

  • They seem to be listening to us now. Shame it's an asrock. $530 for a powercolor or gagf

    • +2

      Get A Girl Friend 😂

      • +2

        I am a girl

        • +13

On the internets you can be whatever you wish to be.

        • +6

          Why can't a girl get a girlfriend?

  • Sorry, we don't have enough 'Asrock Radeon RX 6700 XT Challenger Pro OC 12GB GDDR6 Graphics Card (RX6700XT-CLP-12GO)' in stock to fulfill your order. Please change the quantity on order in your shopping cart and click update. Then try to checkout again.

    …that was fast!

    • same. i managed to get it into the cart, but then it was gone. Now says out of stock on main page

  • RX 6700 XT is a great card, which I sold when I bought an RTX 3080.

    Great price!

  • Pretty crushed that i missed this within just 5 minutes. What are the odds of the 6800 (non xt) hitting $700?

    • I have my finders crossed for that as well. Would also be nice if the 6800XT drops to $900.

    • +2

just HODL a bit longer. It could happen given the current price trends, probs if combined with some other offers.

    • Getting reasonable priced 6800xt probably more likely ($800-$900). Not enough stock of 6800's were/are being made, but fingers crossed!

  • Oh man, was away from my desk at the wrong time!

  • What is this surcharge

    • +1

it is a payment process fee charge by 3rd party and then put on us.

  • +2

There were no clicks to the deal. Only reason the deal was actually good this time is because there were only 10 available. Where are all the other ones?

Incite panic incite demand. There's been no demand for weeks. Need to try new tricks.

    • +2

I've seen retailers pull flash "sales" like this and not sell anything and "expire" their sale

      • +3

Yeah it's back in stock now. So all the people worried they'll miss out again will now panic and buy one. Whereas if it never went out of stock to begin with they wouldn't.

Should be illegal. Maybe it is illegal.

  • +12

    HODLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • Wow missed this

    • +2

Decided to HODL due to comparing the performance gain (15% increase vs 6600xt). 6600xt is currently ~$419 vs this is $~610 which is 50% higher cost for 15% performance gain

  • damn missed but will wait for the 6800 or 3070 ti for 1440p

  • +5

Back in stock!!!!! Did someone cancel their order?

    • -1

I caved in and copped it just then :(((

  • o wow its quick.

  • Back in stock at 659

    • use the code above, if not apply automatically at checkout.

  • +1

this is still in stock. why is it marked oos?

  • +2

    Must…….hold………

  • It looks back in stock to me? Who would pay $600 now though. Tempted me a bit but it's only 15% faster than 6600xt. So 6600xt better deal and better models available

Unfortunately I have a feeling many will buy it and save the retailers

    • Every person that buys it now is just puts them out of the market for another gpu, thus demand falling further. Which is a good thing for prices

  • +2

    Must…….hodl…….

    • +1

Why bite so early it's only just starting.

In 1-4 weeks we'll probably see the best deals. Keep in mind items were getting cleared out of stock every price drop. That stopped happening last 2-3 weeks. There are plenty asrock 6700xt cards. It's just a matter how tightly held retailers wish to be. And that will depend on how many people buy them.

      • 6700xt is also end of life due to 6750xt

The crash will continue but this is a good price to get in if you have no gpu

        • +1

Kinda. Personally I'd never pay $600 for a mid range asrock gpu.

The 5700XT sold for $499 at the end of it's time. That's what I would've paid and that was 2 years ago. The 6600XT is same price now for a decent sku. The 6600xt is a 5700xt (except it has a crippled 128 memory bus and 8x pci unlike the 5700XT).

We're merely at the same performance per dollar as the end of last gen. The duopoly have essentially milked an extra gen.

          • +2

@Jimmy77: Why so much hate on asrock? I've done some research and while they are more of a "budget" brand seems like their reliability is on par with the bigger names e.g. gigabyte, msi.

            • +2

@ozbagends: No hate for them all. But they're a budget maker not mid tier. The issue is when there's a asrock/ventus/eagle/colorful people treat it like a whole new price drop. When it's really just being price adjusted to the new price of the better models.

The only actual bad brand I'm aware of is biostar. But to me $600 is too expensive for a mid tier/70 series asrock with 192 memory bus. The retailers are one step behind my expectations everytime. The sapphire/xfx/powercolor models is what I'd expect at this price, at this point in time (and the asrock eg $530).

            • +1

@ozbagends: I think ASRock picked up a bad rep most recently with a few woeful Intel motherboards that, while technically within Intel's crap spec, couldn't run i7 and i9 chips without throttling a massive amount (Hardware Unboxed covered it, and ASRock stopped sending them review samples in response).

O!Technology on YT have the closest thing I've found to a real brand/variant mass comparison. It's not flawless because it's more like a meta-analysis, but gives you an idea of which variants fall where on the performance spectrum

  • +1

My opinion on this has shifted since fsr2
It feels like 3060ti used to be a better choice on balance, but got a strong sense that dlss is gonna play second fiddle to fsr, especially when it can be applied to the consoles too. Fsr2 is as good as dlss on average, yet everyone can benefit from it.

The raw performance of this is better and extra vram, and now much cheaper. So if you're holding and choosing between this and 3060ti it's definitely leaning more to amds side of late.

    Say this having owned both

  • Tbh this is finally more than 10% below msrp which is what holders wanted. Better models like Asus could hit this price soon, so you can keep holding but don’t feel bad for buying this as it’s finally a “bargain”.

Also will the 7700xt be better, most definitely, will you be able to get one at launch and for $593, unlikely i feel.

    • more than 10% below msrp

I am struggling to understand. I am either bad at math or in English, or you seem to invent a new English.

      • He means its finally dropped 10% in price compared to the msrp

      • MSRP: Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price

The 6700XTs MSRP at launch was $479USD. Though this was a farce and was really a paper launch and was much higher than $479USD at launch.

        • +1

When did RRP become MSRP anyway? Is this an americanism?

      • -5

Their english was correct. Though their use of the acronym "Tbh" leaves a lot to be desired, i feel if you are trying to tell someone how honest you are being, it's probably worth spelling the whole three words out properly.

  • Wow 600! Wonder how long the Umart Croydon $535 price error deal can hold out for with these reductions.

    • +1

it's not an error bro.. it is the target

      • Yep, certainly seems this way given how many reductions we are seeing per week at the moment

  • +3

I did it bois+gals, broke the hodl! I swear part of me paid so I can stop anxiously checking this site section every day as I've done for the last few months. Feedooomm. Feels good.

    • +2

Good work mate, now don't look back and spend time gaming instead of on ozbargain!

  • -1

Am I the only one that read that as Ass rock ?

  • and its back upto $640 with discount now

  • What was the last $600 gpu to have less than 256 bit memory? Yes that's a challenge for you to find me one. Go all the way back to 1999

It seems like $400 mid range gpu's are still $600. It's truly amazing how gamers will settle for less. It's almost like these customers were grown in a lab with the sole purpose to feed nvidia/amd cash.
