Chargers that point down are a real pain cause they don't work on so many power points placed on skirting boards. If you're traveling you've gotta take a double adaptor to ensure it'll fit.
These are more for powerpoints that have couches etc infront of them

Yup! I don't like using smart plugs in power boards and so many of them have the plug at the top so I can't use them on half my power points

It would be fine. May be ok with a hub though you'd need to confirm that.
Any USB power adaptor with 5 Volt DC, 1.5 amp or more should do.
I'm trying to fit it behind a mounted TV so need a slim plug with vertical connections. Haven't been able to find many alternatives unfortunately.
Just use a short HDMI cable.

If it's from a reputable brand there's unlikely to be problem. I often use various multi port chargers.
