  • Hey OZB 👋

Please fire away with any questions you have :)

    -Aidan

    • Fantastic! Thank you @SimsDirect. I just purchased 5 for my trip to Hawaii later in the year.

  • Thanks op heading to USA and Canada in December for 3 weeks all up. Anything to cover both for calls and decent amount of data eg 15gb?

    • Thanks for the upvote Captain Hindsight!

      (Love that episode xD)

We have 15GB SIM with unlimited calls/texts (including Oz) for USA only.

Our Canada SIMs are data-only at the moment.

We are working on bringing in T-mobile SIMs which would work in Canada with data/calls/texts soon. Unfortunately not before this sale is over.

Sorry I can't help you this time.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with :)

      -Aidan

  • Great to see you still operating, don't need a Sim now but will use again in future. I used your sims for 2 trips in 2019 and they worked seamlessly, so easy to be able to land and immediately have phone access rather than stuffing around at the airport/7 eleven buying Sim cards.

    • Thanks for the upvote Barry! Legend :)

We appreciate the positive feedback too!

      -Aidan

  • +1

Explorer 365 Day Travel SIM Card available

    cheaper with 3HK, as eSIM

  • I bought 2 for a trip to China in 2019 and they worked flawlessly including access to Google and Facebook etc (as they were HK based?). Awesome service, would use again in the future. Will we ever see adjustable length sims for those journeys between 15 and 30 days?

    • Hey AnneFagit,

Thanks for the kind words and I am glad we were able to help you out! :)

Duration depends on what products we can get our hands on.

As eSIM becomes more popular I think we will start seeing more flexibility on duration!

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan, any recommendations for Germany, England, Latvia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Turkey?
I assume Turkey one could be an issue

    • Hey jayz,

The Europe SIMs we have listed above will work in those countries EXCEPT Turkey.

For Turkey, you will need to use the Tourist or Middle East SIM.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan. Purchased the 100GB sim.

        • Thanks Jayz! 🎉

  • As i forgot what i had to do last time, for USA, i can buy now and when i land on my holiday in October, insert the SIM into my phone, Turn on 'Data Roaming' in my network settings Restart and done, no need to buy it closer to the date etc?

    • +1

      Hey beigehornet!

Thanks for being a legend and leaving an upvote :) It helps massively!

You can definitely buy now and hold onto it until you need to use it later in October.

Each SIM has its own method of activating which can be found in the product description or the SIM guide (for US SIM you need to do what you have listed PLUS text GOGO to 6700).

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

      • Yall have ZIP too… this is way too easy

        • ;)

          • @SimsDirect: Bought again, save the hassle of going to a store n messing with it when i land

            • @beigehornet: Thanks for the purchase! It will be on its way to you soon 🤝

              -Aidan

Used for NZ right before covid happened, worked great :)

    • Thanks for the feedback and the upvote!!! <3

      -Aidan

  • Awesome. Just orderd an Asia sim. Good timing.
    Thanks

    • Hey Silvershark!

Thanks heaps for the upvote and the order :)

Reach out if you need anything from me.

      -Aidan

      • Hi Aiden, Asia sim deal says 78 countries however when clicking it it only says 20 countries.

        • +1

          Hey @starburstyellow

The Asia SIM is the same as the Tourist SIM. It works in 120 countries around the world.

We have just listed the Asian countries that the SIM works in under the 'Asia SIM'.

Hope that clears it up for you.

          -Aidan

          • @SimsDirect: Gah, was busy at work and forgot to buy! :( Hope for another promo soon. Thx for replying though.

  • Bought before and have been happy with the product. They happily provided a partial refund when my trip was cut short at the start of Covid.

A bit flat that the Explorer 365 sim doesn't include Malaysia for me this year.

    • Hey Charlie!

      Thanks for the upvote! 🔥

For Malaysia, the only option is our South East Asia SIM and Asia SIM.

Let me know if I can help with anything :)

      -Aidan

  • Hi, does your Middle East sim include iraq? Also it mentions that it works in ~70 countries but only a few are listed

    • Hey Alialh,

It does not include Iraq unfortunately.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with :)

      -Aidan

  • Should we wait for the big special you are due to announce at 8am tomorrow, or will it be the same thing?

    • Hey djkelly69!

This is the one (same thing), seems like you're ahead of the curve!

      -Aidan

For those that have a e-sim capable phone, look into travel e-sims such as Airalo as they are generally a lot cheaper than physical sims. Along with the benefit of not having to swap out physical sims

    • +1

      Hey illusion99,

Thanks for the comment. eSIM is definitely the future and we will be offering them very soon!

Airalo will be cheaper on some products but do keep in mind they sell in USD.

      -Aidan

    • Not sure how this SIM works, but Airalo use some weird proxy server stuff that routes all traffic through the UK if I'm not mistaken. Due to this I couldn't use the check-in services and "Taksi" app while in Turkey. It just blocked me saying I'm not in Turkey. Couldn't buy a ferry ticket due to that as well. Other than that, a great experience and super cheap.

  • What carrier is used for the US sims? And will it work in Hawaii?

    • +1

      Hey,

The carrier is Ultramobile (T-mobile) in the US.

The SIM will work in Hawaii ✅

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan, our family is planning to visit Japan on December 2022 for 20 days. I can see the current Japan sim is expiring on Nov 2022, will any new SIM card be in stock for after Nov? Also is there any other way to cover 20 days except buy two SIM cards? Thanks!

    • Hey nkwd!

I don't have an exact date just now but the Japan SIMs will be extended by another 6 months.

You can go ahead and purchase the SIMs now and we can confirm the dates have been extended closer to your travel dates if you want to take advantage of the deal now.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

P.S - There is no way to cover 20 days unfortunately, you will need 2 SIMs.

    • Are you confident they'll open borders or happy to go on tour?

      • I'm fairly confident they will. However, nothing is a guarantee.

Maybe wait for a bit longer to see what happens with their borders. If you want to take advantage of this sale. Screenshot this image and message us on customer service closer to your date and we can honour the 25% discount.

We will also have more deals later in the year too.

        -Aidan

        • haha by Christmas I'm sure they will too, I took a much more riskier punt and have flights for September, wish me luck!

  • Going to Greece in October, do I buy now and activate then?

    • Hey Kheva,

When checking out you will need to assign an arrival date for the SIM cards and the SIM will be activated on the date you enter by our team.

If you do not know your dates yet, you can enter a much later dummy date and message customer support to have it changed to the correct date once you know when you are landing.

So yes, you can buy it now and hold onto it until you need it.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Heading to USA, Belgium, France and Switzerland in October. Are my best options for most data:

USA - USA UNLIMITED 30 DAYS
    BELGIUM & FRANCE - EUROPE & UK 44 DAYS 100GB - 44 COUNTRIES
    SWITZERLAND - EUROPE & UK 30 DAYS 12GB - 71 COUNTRIES

    • Hey Green,

Spot on, that would be your best bet if you are going for max data in those countries!

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Currently using my Simsdirect sim in NY (AT&T, as T-Mobile isn't great here in my experience).

It didn't work when I landed (middle of the night Australian time*), but I emailed them and got a response in literally 5 minutes and everything was sorted.

    • I'm guessing you have staff all around the world?
    • Hey prhino! Thanks for the upvote :)

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad we were able to sort it out for you!

We do not have 24/7 support (only in Australia) but this is something we are looking to change in the near future.

      -Aidan

  • Thanks OP, all sorted for our 30 day Euro trip in October!

    • 🎉

Have a safe journey and thanks for the purchase!

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,
Bought 3 Europe UK SIMS 100GB SIMs this afternoon. Any chance of getting the 25% discount. It wasn't available at 5 pm on your website but is now.
    Thanks
    Jon

    • +1

      Hey Jon,

Just message in with your order number to [email protected] (or our live chat) and we can get that sorted for you 👍

      -Aidan

  • How is it even possible to cover so many countries from one sim lol?

    • Hey lakes_8,

      Thanks for the upvote! ❤️

It's a pretty epic SIM! You can thank ThreeUK for that one!

      -Aidan

  • Bought a couple for a trip to Europe that did not happen due to covid in 2020. When do they expire?

    • Hey costas60!

      Thanks for the order ❤️

Our Europe SIMs do not have expiry dates, so you can hold onto them as long as you need :)

      -Aidan

      • Thanks hopefully can use next year

        • 👍

  • FANTASTIC, I'm travelling to the USA soon! :)

    • Hi donotuse,

      Glad we could help!

      Safe travels ;)

      -Aidan

  • HI OP,
we are going to Singapore in Nov, by compare the price, the south east Asia card is much more expensive than the Sim card if we pick up at Singapore airport. (price and data)
So what is the main difference?

    • Hey FlyingPanda99,

It depends, there are plenty of options to get a SIM when you land in Singapore - so it depends on the product you choose.

The main difference is that we are an Aussie business that sends you the SIM before you go so you don't have to worry about it when you land. We also offer Aussie support and a money-back guarantee on all products which is often not offered by most Telco companies.

Hope this answers your question :)

      -Aidan

  • Would the unlimited US plan cover calls to and from Australia?

    • +1

      Hey bedgrub,

      Yes it does! :)

Let me know if you have any further questions.

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan. Is tethering disabled?

        • +1

          Tethering is enabled!

  • Hi OP. Can I use the 100GB Europe & UK SIM in a tablet? I see it’s data only, but does it work in a 4G tablet or wifi device?

    • Hey cashless,

      Thanks for the upvote :)

The 100GB SIM is for mobile phones only. For tablets and wifi devices you will need to use the 365 Day Explorer SIM.

      -Aidan

      • Is the 365 Day Explorer interchangeable? Can I move it from mobile to tablet and back, as required?

        • Yep! You can use it any device you desire :)

          -Aidan

      • Hi Aidan. With the 100GB - is it the same as whats on the o2 website? On their website it says it comes with Unlimited minutes? Can I use it to call local numbers in Italy and Spain?

        • Hey tclips87,

The 100GB SIM is data only, it does not come with calls and texts included.

          -Aidan

  • are there any esims that include calls in Thailand?

    • Hey derdew,

Unfortunately, we do not have any eSIMs available, but that will be changing soon.

In general, eSIMs are tough to find with calls included. Most are data-only.

      Sorry I can't help!

      -Aidan

      • what about normal sims with calls? or do you have to get them locally when you land?

        • For Thailand, we don't have anything with calls.

Your best bet is to land and get something locally if you need calls.

          -Aidan

  • +1

i can't speak for other countries, but when i went to china and japan, i just bought sim card locally in the airport which is much cheaper than this.

    • Would like to know what the going rate for UK is these days for a cheap prepaid sim. Anyone know? Thanks

      • +2

        Check this out
        https://www.giffgaff.com/
Can order before you travel & have it delivered to your home in Aus.
About half the price of this deal

        • Used these in Europe and confirm they seem to be faster than the Three SIMs.

However on that website I can’t seem to find out how many days they are valid for? Just shows price and GB?

          https://www.giffgaff.com/freesim-international

          • @JHoliday: All giffgaff top ups are monthly.
Pay in GBP using low/no fee card

  • Hey rep,

I'm tossing up between the global SIM you listed and the one that Flexiroam sells on a separate site. I noticed your global one doesn't cover Malaysia or Japan whereas the Flexiroam global one covers them.

Can you pls confirm that I'm right in that the global one doesn't cover Malaysia or Japan? Sometimes the sites on coverage aren't up to date so I wanted to check.

    • Hey clx,

You are correct, the 365-day SIM we have does not work in Malaysia or Japan.

We do have a Tourist 15-Day SIM that does work in those countries though.

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Hey All!

I am logging off for the evening, I will be on early tomorrow morning to answer any questions. So just leave them here and I will get back to them :)

    Sweet dreams 😴

    -Aidan

  • I have a iPhone 12 Pro, it's unlocked, I use a Boost PAYG (monthly recharge) physical as my day to day plan

I'm heading to Europe in July and need data but also need to be able to receive SMS on my regular Boost number

I believe I need an eSIM for this (but I could be wrong) - do you guys have an eSIM offer?

    • Boost doesn’t have international roaming yet.

    • Hey tommy,

You will not be able to receive calls or texts on your regular Aussie number.

The best bet would be to use Whatsapp or Facetime/iMessage (using data).

Let me know if you have any further questions :)

      -Aidan

      • Thanks for the response - I'm told I need to look into an "eSIM" for my trip :) thanks

  • Everytime I've been to the USA with your Sim cards I've had to call a number and speak to an operator to activate. Which is annoying, when I went to Hawaii in March the operator was asking me for a zip code for my stay, I said I'm a tourist I don't know any zip codes I don't have any internet to check. Can you google a zip code for Hawaii for me ? Lol

Going again in October so I'll be buying another sim from you guys :)

    • Thanks for the feedback Junkyard (and the upvote & order!),

Sorry to hear the SIM wasn't super smooth on your landing. Try using the texting method (text GOGO to 6700).

Or simply just give them a random US ZIP code.

      -Aidan
