Cheers OP, got one for upstairs of my soon to be built new home.

  • Thanks, gonna update my AC Pro

I just updated both my AC-Pros to these…these seems a lot better for 5ghz in general tbh. Overall better quality signal, range, stability etc and the build quality too!

      Recommended upgrade from me.

      • As much as I'd like to upgrade, looks like I'm stuck unless I upgrade my switch too as I only have 802.3af and seems these need .3at.

Oh well, not so bad for now. I've only got about 50 WiFi devices on my AC-Pro at the moment and most of them are on 2.4GHz (mainly smart home gear) but everything has been running ok.

I have the 8 port af unify switch and it's working fine. I checked other people's feedback on Reddit.

          • @lasterato: The US-8-60W? Interesting to know. I thought in theory it should be fine as the U6-Pro specs say it draws 13W so 802.3af should be able to supply enough.

Never bothered to look after seeing 3at in the specs but couple of results I just came across looks like it only runs around 7W anyway.
I've got a Netgear JGS24PE, haven't seen mention specifically of anyone using with a U6-Pro but guess shouldn't be a problem either.

I’m after a Ubiquiti Unifi U6 Lite Wi-Fi 6 AP for under $160, but can’t find anything currently.
    I’ll have to wait.

Same, couldn't see any on sale after a quick search

  • Seems prices are up compared to previously. I post them on here for something like 120ea at one point.

Good unit, just be careful with the latest firmware. I have dropped back a version otherwise nothing connects to 5ghz banding. Crazy bug…

    • Wouldn't that be the Lite? But yes, prices are definitely up. Pretty much all networking gear is out of stock or at a higher price.

      • Yeah I’ve heard bugs with the U6 lite. Can anyone share their experience with the U6 Pro stability?

This pro version is generally overkill for home use. If u are buying 2 or 3, you can save decent money buying lite ones.

    • I’ve got a NanoHD and a U6-Lite. The lite is a bucket of poo compared to the nanoHD. Most devices seem to prefer to connect to the nanoHD, and get dropouts when forced to use the u6-lite. Even when I switched the two APs around, the pattern was the same - devices slowly moving over to the nanoHD despite being on the far side of the u6 lite. The range on the u6 lite also seems really bad in comparison to the nanoHD. I hope the pro works better than that!
