I say spend extra $30 and get the Google Chrome cast with remote. Supports Bluetooth, has remote, install apps and extra support

    • ^ this.

    • Sideloaded xbox game pass and works great (few lags… It's still beta). So yeah, it's a gaming tool to off you have a controller.

      • I do not understand why the xbox cloud gaming app being launched on the Samsung TVs is a big deal, given that we can run cloud gaming on basically any devices with a built-in browser from a while back.

    • Have been using that Google Chromecast with remote

Although my family uses that a lot more than myself.
Hardly anyone else used to view TV before, but with this chromecast, a number of people now find viewing youtube and netflix so much easier and convenient.

    Yeah nah

    Agree with hopper.

Not worth the few dollars saved.

  • Oh thought Amazon didn’t sell Google stuff.

    • They sorted their differences out some time ago.

I wish it's the audio version.

    • ikr, would make a great alternative to sonos for syncing music across rooms.

    • I wish they'd start making the audio version again

    • The echo dot 2nd gen is cheap when it is on sale and it has audio out. But it is so limited in what we can stream (with Alexa app).

Still use a Gen 2 when I travel and stay in hotels/Airbnbs etc. The current Google TV unit requires 5V/3A, so you need to carry an additional AC adapter and need a powerpoint close to the TV. Old unit runs fine normally off a built in TV USB port (5V/.5A), so much easier to just connect to use. Couple it with a travel router and you're good in most accomodation.

  • Is this 4k?

    • No, ultra 3rd Gen was 4K, or new one with Google tv
