Just a heads up you need a min despot to waive fees.

We'll waive them if you deposit at least $2,000 a month. For example, your salary

    • Good point, and it’s $4000 for the platinum debit

      • what different about the platinum debit, just overseas ATM machine usage without fees?

  • +1

Maybe an ok deal, but i will personally steer clear from Bankwest. Just got a rection email for my application for Zero Platinum, which is ridiculous.

    • rection = rectum? …

ozbargain: rejection sucks, sucks 'butt' (family friendly word instead of the a word)

      • rejection funny man

Half the points they use to offer, and their ongoing earn rate has been slashed as well! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/385057

3 QFF per $1 is better than a lot of CCs. I was going to say, until I read it is 3 QFF per transaction

  • They offered 20,000 points on signup a few years back in July 2019 :O

    Man 5K is a downgrade.

    • +2

Still more than any other transaction accounts on the market giving nothing.

I signed up to BankWest Qantas account 3 weeks ago with no offers 😢

      • That is a fair point. Strange that WankBest seems to be the only bank account on the market that offers Qantas points.

I've been using it for a few years now and keeps the balance ticking over, better than nothing.

        • barely better than nothing, hsbc's 2% is better

@[Deactivated]: Isn’t HSBC capped and only on $100 max transactions?

            • @Platinumtelecom: well yeah but this is capped at 3 points

              • @[Deactivated]: Haha I use Hiver Bank to get 5% off my electricity bill and 9% off on my Woolies eGift card shops.

Basically the BankWest account is just dribbles, as I get my main points from credit card signup bonuses

                • @adrianhughes1998: i use hsbc for fuel from 7/11 mainly, extra 2% doesn't hurt

                  • @[Deactivated]: I have pondered about the HSBC but I'm too lazy to move everything over incl my salary deposit into a new account etc.

Might get onto WankBest about the card though, looks nice in the red colourway haha

                • @adrianhughes1998: I can't see this offer on their website, any more info?

                • @adrianhughes1998: How do you get 9% for woolies GC?

        • +1

Qudos Bank (rebranded from Qantas Credit Union) also offers FF points - https://www.qudosbank.com.au/products/savings-accounts/qanta…

          • @miwahni: Per annum for points crediting is the deal breaker. Makes sense otherwise people would be running away with tons of points per month but still.

            • @adrianhughes1998: You mean the Qudos account? "Earn 400 Qantas Points* per annum for every $1000 of your balance, credited monthly" I used to have one and point are paid monthly?

30 transactions is a lot of effort for 5k points compared to so many credit card offers. 20k would be a decent offer in my opinion.

I get that this is transaction account, but I'd take a credit check and 100,000 points any day.

  • They couldn't even verify my ID online and want me to go into a branch or post office. That ain't happening.

    • all credit to them, i lodged a complaint and they fixed it and were quite apologetic.

  • I used to use this way back when it was like 5 pts per transaction and had the 10k bonus. qantas points not worth much these days so too much effort for 5k

  • Did this in a previous deal for 10k points and they never paid out.

  • +1

Bit surprised at the reaction of people for the requirements for this deal?

Manual/auto schedule payid/beem a $2k deposit in/out for 5-6months (3 months + additional 2-3 months as it takes up to 60 days for pts to credit)
    10 x 3 partial payment transactions at a self-checkout at Colesworth

    • yeah there’s no logic to it. an ad for a tesla gets hundreds of upvotes so does $5 off a $100 gift card. this which is at a minimum a free $25 people are meh about

    • As in the "split payment" option on the checkout it will let you split it 10 times in one transaction? (excuse my ignorance)

      • +1

        Correct

    • If i make payment online using the debit card for my water bill and council rates, is it included as part of the 10 transactions ?

  • can one convert existing BW account and still qualify?

  • Hi everyone,
I currently hold a Bankwest Easy Transaction account, but not this Qantas account.
Am i eligible for this 5k sign up bonus?

    • I would say yes based on this info:

      • Earn 5,000 Bonus Qantas Points promotion is only available to eligible new Bankwest Transaction account customers who have not held a Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account in the last 24 months and apply from 13 June 2022 until 7 August 2022.
      • To be eligible for 5,000 Bonus Points you must complete 10 transactions using your Debit MasterCard each month for the first three months of the account being opened and have a valid Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number.
      • 5,000 Bonus Qantas Points are transferred to your account within 60 days of becoming eligible and are subject to change.
      • Your account must remain open for points to be transferred.
  • Anyone able to confirm if Revolut transactions are eligible?

    • +1

beem it seemed to work. i got the transaction points anyway haven't hit the 3 months yet

      • U mean use beem it to transfer 1aud and get 3 Qantas Points ?

  • Also it says "new customers only". I had a Bankwest credit card previously (account is now closed), does that excluded me from this promo?

Or when it refers to new customers it means new customers for the transaction account?

  • +1

Latest version of the Bankwest App on iPhone says they have automatically upgraded everyone to Platinum Card (confirmed in my app my card has been changed to Platinum). Does this mean I now need to put $4000 in to avoid monthly account fee instead of $2000?

    • It's just $2000 for everyone now. I'm not sure what's so "platinum" about the card any more though as they just removed the warranty and purchase insurance.
