WE'RE THROUGH TO THE WORLD CUP FINALS BABY!!!!!! YEAAAAAAH!! DOESN'T GET BIGGER THAN THIS!!!
Throw on the green and gold and support your national team making it in to the fifth World Cup finals in a row, that's 16 years!

Nike currently have the shirt at 29% off (probably expecting Australia to get knocked out) making it $73.99 and including delivery of $9.95, its cheaper than most places selling it at $100+. Says 2020 but think it should be refering to it as 2020/2021.
Good price for a national team shirt, don't be a Volpato and pass this chance up.

Yea. The World Cup tournament is the ‘finals’ tournament. Teams play for years to qualify for the finals (ie the World Cup).

      • +28

To be fair no one ever says we are through to the World Cup finals. We are through to the World Cup would suffice.

        • +9

Yeah, in reality we just "qualified" to play in the World Cup.

        • +4

Wouldn’t say no one. It’s not uncommon overseas

        • They do. You're just ignorant.

        • Qualified for 2022 World cup!

        • +7

Even AFL refers to it as Finals Footy and The Finals Series…..¯\_(ツ)_/¯

        • +14

Put it this way, there are 211 footballing nations in the world, so making it into the 32 team tournament is an achievement. Officially, it's called "the finals", kind of like how the college basketball playoffs are called the finals series, same deal. In practice, real fans don't really call it the finals, but for a country of 25 million that play a lot of other sports, it is an achievement.

          • +2

@kiriakoz: It is an achievement irrespective of size or number of sports played. We knocked off some really really good teams

            • -3

@peeppeep: Calm down mate, is it an achievement for Brazil? A country of 200 million + people with football being by far the most played sport? Do you think the people of Brazil get excited when they qualify for the tournament or do you think they sit there, arms folded, looking indignant about the whole thing?

        • -1

          Ok, "Herb Utsmellz".

    • +5

Yeah the tournament in Qatar is referred to as the World Cup Finals, the last stages of a process started back in June 2019 with some 206 Countries (taking 3 year) vying to be one of the 31 countries to get in to the Finals.

Go to Rebel and price match it. I got it ages ago for the $73.99 cost. They don't usually add shipping ontop.

I was in Germany in 2006 with a camper van and three other mates. Greatest month of my life.

I got a ticket off some random chick in Munich for the croatia game she couldn’t go to anymore, me and some other random sitting in gold jerseys amongst 5000 Croats. Was quite stressful we pegged it bloody quick at the final whistel

          • @Donaldhump: I managed to get a set of tickets (TST7) to all the games - sitting in amongst other aussies. Id see the same 20-30 people around me every game. Was superb!

            • @flashi007: very lucky, the japan game would have been sick. i was to smashed by time tim cahill scored twice, I couldn't comprehend it

    • Looks airbrushed, but I think he's just young and pretty.

      • pretty what?

        • Pretty (profanity) fake

      • The shirt looks airbrushed too - or is it reallly that silky and smooth?

    • Nike Marketing types will be pulling overtime tonight dreaming up a new World Cup version of the top, shift the green accents around on the Yellow shirt, stick on a World Cup badge and triple the price!

5 dollar yellow shirt from kmart and a sharpie will work too

        • Be curious to know what the quality of that is like. I have a proper Nike Australian jersey from the 2006 World Cup that is still in amazing condition - the labels have worn off, but the rest of the shirt is fine. And that shirt has been through some shit.

          • @trawg: I would say very similar to the authentic one. Still going strong to this day. After wearing and washing it multiple times

  • +6

2018 from Jim kidds for $30 will do me fine

  • I’m Sure it was $19.99 yesterday haha

  • La tenés adentro Perú.

Don't forget we're also hosting, and qualified for, the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ and these jerseys are usually interchangable.

Our Matildas are ranked 12th in the world, so we've got some good chances for both the Matildas and Socceroos.

    • Women's football though. Not exactly riveting eh.

      • neither is the men's

        • Put it this way the Australian women's team would get destroyed by a teenage boys team.

  • +4

These are 2020 model, pretty sure all the qualified teams would unveil new jerseys in a couple of months

  • Is it on special because it doesn't come with the apostrophe in men's ;)

  • +3

I clicked the Nike store link to buy a Aussie jersey, checked out buying Jordan's and a few other things on top.

    Thank you Ozbargain.

  • +1

Has anyone checked up on Volpato?

    • +3

These big corporations make so much profits and pay no taxes. They should give us these t shirts for free. Chairman Dan should help us with this

  • +7

Glad we made it to this special slave labour edition of the FIFA world cup.

    • -7

why are you living in Australia then?

      • Wtf lol

          LOL

      • -1

you're saying I should move overseas because our football team sucks and I am embarrassed to wear their team shirt?

        • +3

Made it to the world cup. Far from their best team but still beat 5th best South American team.

No need to be a Debbie downer.

    • I don't think Graeme Arnold will lose any sleep over your embarrassment champ

  • +3

    Arnold is a dire coach

    • +2

Got a weak socceroos team to the world cup.

      • Hopefully Harry Souttar and Adam Taggart are back in the squad

        • Rogic as well!

      • -3

Very weak. Peru had 2 of their best strikers out and were way understrength. Wait til we get hidings from France, Denmark and Tunisia. These shirts will be half the price.

  • +1

Would have been 1/2 price had Australia failed to qualify 😂

  • -2

    thought aussies only knew footy

  • +4

The country will pretend to support the national team until they lose, or win the tournament.
I genuinely thought that winning the AFC Asia Cup final in 2015 may have built up some real support for the world's greatest team sport, but I was wrong.

    • +1

      I was there!

    • To be fair, Australia has barely played at home in the past few years - that is vital to momentum building. Add to that this is the worst Australian soccer team we have seen in 40 years. No national team in Australia is flying high in the public eye right now either. Oh and soccer isn't as interesting as our other codes.

    • +2

Hiding our domestic league behind a pay wall surely doesn't help

      • Fair statement

  • -1

Won't get past the group stage

    • +3

Nor will half of the teams

    • +1

Neither will Nigeria. Or Sweden. Or Scotland. Or Peru. Or Chile. Or Czech. Or Greece. Or Colombia. Or Italy….

  • The dude looks CGI

  • -1

They're going to get eliminated in the group stage anyhow lol…

  • +1

does it come in 'grey wiggle'

  • Spew jersey or nothing

  • If Garang Kuol in the WC squad, I'll get the jersey

  • +2

My one from 4 World cups ago will do the job. Same colour and still in as new condition as doesn't get a lot of wear :-)

    • I have an old one but it doesn't fit like it used to 😳

  • ^ Was going to say the same, I have a few Socceroos guernseys from the mid 2010's, they haven't really changed much (well they kinda did 16/17 when they had a bit of a design pattern instead of just the green collar and gold top). I haven't purchased a new Socceroos guernsey top in a few years - mostly because of stock availability - hard to come by if they're not in a Rebel sport store :-/ (had the shirt and a stadium jacket which were both awesome to wear). I also used to wear the Wallabies Rugby tops for years (my favourite being the 2007 world cup replica). I used to like wearing them because of Aussie pride…. however bogan it seemed :P

  • Go aussies and all, but seeing this kit up close, it looks super cheap compared to other national teams' kits. Looks like they've just slapped an iron-on patch on a generic training kit.

  • -6

Real football is played by carrying an oval shaped ball and tackling the opponent. To much of this Soccer is making Australia soft.

    • Nah thats the third best football in Australia.

    • 1 man pushing 2 mens heads up 3 mens bums.

  • It's a good looking top. Big fan of a collar with buttons, gives it a classic Vibe. The design is a bit simple, but sometimes simplicity works. There is no guessing as to what jersey it is, which is part of the appeal.

I have a similar one from a couple of world cups ago and it works a treat.

  • making it in to the fifth World Cup finals in a row, that's 16 years!

    Barely. Hardly a resounding performance.

    • +1

Can't take the win away from them.

Italy would gladly trade places I'm sure.

  • -3

It would make a nice mop for my bathroom. Too expensive though so I will pass.
