I've been umming and arring all day about this, it's a good price but a little underspec compared to OS models.
Firstly, there's mixed reports on the actual resolution, whether 1920*1200 or 2560 x 1600
    Not Nebula display.
And the 2nd screen is only 1920 x 550, compared to the 4k res found on others.
If the screen really is 2560 x 1600 and the smaller one is 1920 x 550, then crap wont scale properly.

    I'm still on the fence

      I wouldnt get this.

I had last years duo 15se model for 4.1k (5900HX 3070), and this is barely any upgrade-both 6900HX and 3070ti are as small an upgrade to last year as they are, and while it gets an 16:10 panel, its 1080p and dont get neither the 100% dci p3 rgb nor hdr and I would say its worse than the one on last year where at least its 300hz.

Asus did anz dirty with the 1080p panel.

I would look elsewhere or wait for next years model. AMD is having production issues with 6900HX/6980hx chips and any later stocks is likely to come with the 6800H which is even more underwhelming. And you can bet Asus wont lower the RRP.

        Thanks for the good info.

I like the idea of the duo layout but I think I want my next laptop to have an OLED screen.

ux582 looks good but only seems to come with 16Gb RAM which isn't great IMO for such an expensive laptop. Think I'll keep waiting.

was super tempted with this deal - but can't see many reviews of the unit. Might just keep sticking around for a deal on the 2022 g14 when it ever gets herre

    • Exactly the same, Asus ROG on insta said it should land in Australia End of June or Early July.
There's also the Lenovo Slim 7 with roughly the same ETA, but you can't believe anything anymore.

      • I think the legion 7 range is awesome this year, but it probably won't be out for months

    • Good call unless you'd benefit from the second screen. I own a G14 and have had it for about 7 months now. It's excellent and is the perfect compromise for people wanting desktop performance with slightly heavier than Ultrabook portability. It's just a bit expensive, especially if you get a high-spec model :)

  • I like the idea of the 2nd screen in this laptop and the likes of the Zenbook Pro, but I figure it will be a little cramped to use it when out and about…

Keyboard is okay but I never got used to the touchpad on the right. I have always brought a mouse with me on the move because the touchpad is as horrible as it gets.

  • What if liquid goes into that space underneath/between second screen and body? Explode? Electrical hazards?

    • What happens when liquid spills into a normal laptop?

Its the same thing, the addtion of the second screen doesnt make the laptop more prone to damage in anyway. Its actually more rigid than most gaming laptops.

  • Good price, but not for the 1920x1200 screen.

  • If i have bought bitcoin 10 years ago will be able to afford this $3k laptop..
