  Nice. However I wonder whether you really need Full HD at 32". I guess it would be a cheap alternative to big computer monitor though, where you can plug in and work.

    The answer is YES, I need it ;)

    I got 1920x1200 at 24" and I'd like 2560x1600 at 30", but even so, when using my PCI HD tuner and sitting a few metres away from it, I can still see a lot of difference between american HD series and SD broadcasting upscaled to 1080i.

    I do wonder with this deal if the inbuilt tuner is by some chance 720p with downscaling of 1080i content, always sus unless they specify as these kind of tricks have often been used in the past.

      I don't think Aldi are in the business of ripping the consumer off unlike some less reputable electronics retailers… after all, they want you to return regularly to buy your groceries!

  $899 for 1080p 32in does it really matter? Just buy try it for 60 days if you don't like it take it back. I'm buying two if I can. The good deals usually finish quickly so get in early on Thursday morning..

  Hmmm
  You can get a decent brand like a Sony or Panasonic for around this price (or less) in HD. The only way you would notice a difference at 32 inches would be IF you had Blu Ray, and sat a foot from the TV, and even then the superior contrast ration of a better brand would deliver a nicer picture. And if you're going to spend the money on a blu ray player, then you can probably afford a better tv.

  Bauhn is not even a proper brand name. It is just like Telefunken, Conia, Palsonic, etc, slapped on whatever random cheap stuff they can find.

  Saying it has a Hitachi panel is nonsense. That's like saying my Ford has Toyota tyres on it.
  Hitachi had their stuff made in China like most. They have gotten out of the market becuase the compettition at the bottom end was too much. So at best this is an obsolete Hitachi rebranded.

  Warranty is NOT an indication of quality. You can BUY a five year warranty on just about anything.
  Any yes, Aldi probably picked these up dirt cheap and have made allowances for warranty returns, when they will just replace it with whatever cheap junk they have at the time.

  You would also notice it if you planned to use it as computer monitor :) I have one of these babies waiting for me when I back from Hols.
