Decent deal on a 240Hz 1440p monitor, could be a historical low.

See this previous post to get a 7% unique code for discounted items. It worked for me last month, but seems to work on and off.

Other competing monitors I had considered:

  • Asus PG279QM: More expensive but only marginally better.
  • Acer XB273UGX: Rtings rates this slightly above the AW2721D. I managed to buy this for $780 using discounted eBay giftcards and 10% off tech from a couple of weeks ago from Scorptec eBay store (only 5 in stock, so didn't post).
  • Samsung Odyssey G7: Currently more expensive but have been as low as $799 in the past. Great contrast and performance but 1000R curvature makes it a poor all rounder for gaming and productivity.

  • Am I missing something, $299 for the Samsung G5 is a much better option imo, unless you really NEED 240Hz

Personally and surprisingly, 240Hz does make a difference for me. It's really up to you what features you want from your monitor. Same could be said for higher end monitors, e.g., 4k 144Hz, QD-OLED, or FALD monitors.

The G5 is admittedly a great deal at $299 but there have been issues with Samsung QC. Also, spec sheets are usually not accurate, so I would suggest checking reviews from HUB or rtings before purchasing.

    • G5 is a better value option but having gone to 240hz, no way I'd ever go back.

    • Yeah the AW is more than double the price of the G5 which makes this deal obsolete imo.

  • A mate of mine bought three of these, two died.

    • mine died after 8 months use

disgraceful gimmick monitor shroud was shilling to the masses
