They've quickly gone south from $300 starting price… should tell you everything you need to know.

These are vocal monitoring headphones, good for basic studio work and podcasts. The tonality is a bit too boomy for music, but the fitment is comfortable and consistent.

Wouldn't recommend these over the AKG K371 or the Shure SRH-840A, which would be the common picks right now. Probably not the AKG K361 or the DT 770 either, which I would maybe look at for this price point.

both k371 and srh840 have build quality issues out the ass, and srh840a is like $400, not a fair fight

K371 had early build issues, but is otherwise just a flimsy build. It's all about the audio quality with those, and works fine so long as you store them in their bag.

SRH-840 has issues with the band over a long lifespan, but there's been several re-issues.

SRH-840A is $186 on Amazon right now, where are you looking?? It's also a more consumer focussed build instead of something that is built as a professional workhorse.

        • was looking at minidisc and other Aussie stores, my bad. that's a better deal at 186, I'd agree.

the 840 still has band issues. they never changed the design massively - I think the 840a was meant to fix it as I haven't heard nearly as much for it.

a pair of closed backs shouldn't be babied. these are meant to be thrown in a bag and moved around, and after holding the k371 I don't think it'll handle it.

          • @maybe a bot: The 840A has been available for 3 months, so you wouldn't find much of anything. The design is clearly consumer focused, and doesn't retain any of the design of the original, just a similarly attempted tuning.

    • These aren’t HiFi, and market is saturated with Pro stalwarts, perhaps they’ve overestimated the demand. v2 will be more successful.

They Sound good but not a good fit for every ear shape

  • Price back up to $199. So expired deal I guess.

  • I bought one for $119 but later decided to cancel it. However the cancellation hasn't gone through. I am planning to return it upon arrival. I am in Melbourne and if anyone is interested to buy it off me, let me know.

    • How come cancel? Just curious as I have one on the way.

      • I ordered one on impulse but then decided not to but the system does not let me cancel it. Need to refuse delivery or return it once it arrives tomorrow.

        • I get the cancellation process, just wondering if you took issue with the actual product itself.

          • @eediot: The price tempted me and because it is Amazon I wanted to order first and decide later.
