50% off Annual Memberships @ Bicycle Network

    What does membership include?

  • +1

this thing always seems to be on some sort of 30-50% discount

  • What do I get for $65.50?

    • -1

      A receipt.

    • So much more

  • +2

Seems more like a waste of money than any sort of bargain.

    • +1

Do you consider your car insurance to be the same? For those who ride regularly on the road, this is definitely a bargain.

      • +1

Looks like injury and public liability insurance, some of which may be limited to events organised by BN. Doesn't include anything for the bike.

Injury insurance might be ok for $65.50 a year though.

A lot of the cover only seems to kick in for death or total permanent disablement

        • It also covers any damage that you cause while on the bike IIRC (ie. you hit a car commuting and are otherwise uninsured)

  • No free repairs no deal

  • OP, are you associated with Bicycle Network?
    Thanks.

    • Nope. I'm on their mailing list because I signed up for Around the Bay.

Does anyone know, if you are already a member will this add on to the existing membership expiry?

Think of this membership more as a donation towards Bicycle advocacy in major capital cities. There's not much immediate value, but they do use the resources towards pushing for Cyclist rights and infrastructure.

  • Code does not seem to work?
But I'm also an existing member…?

  • Signed up for a year. Not sure if I'll get much value out of it but I take the point above that you can also justify it as a donation of sorts for advocacy. Which as a relatively new and keen cyclist I consider worthwhile.
