Where are the nipples on plants?

    • +2

There is a fruit called nipple fruit or Solanum mammosum…that last bit gives it away😁

    • +2

68% of people are lactose intolerant. 🤷‍♂️

      • -7

68% of people need to HTFU is how I read that
        Ha

      • +1

That's the estimated % of world population, not Australia.

That world estimate is skewed by the large population size & high level of lactose intolerance of East Asian populations.

Self report studies here show about 6% having lactose intolerance.
Whereas 16% of Australians report avoiding cows milk, for various reasons.

      • 82% of statistics are made-up

      • Wow I did not know that. Reading further into this topic it seems that humans have (at least some of us) have developed the ability to digest lactose well after childhood.

Is my morning hot chocolate with oat milk hurting your feelings?

      • +1

        I'm literally shaking rn

    • +9

Gawd, imagine being so worked up about people's milk choice (coming from someone that only drinks full cream).

      ❄️

    • +2

Yeah, 100%, drink real milk like it should be, no pasteurisation, no bottles, just lips on nips (cow teats).

Cool if you're intolerant to the idea of having baby calves killed so their miserable mums' milk can be siphoned off for you.

    • +1

I don't mind, I love full cream milk

    • +4

There is always one person trying making it about what it is not.

      • -1

Let me guess: you try and make the milk an unrelated mother makes for her own child an ingredient for your cheese?

        • +4

who cares, if you don't want to drink cow milk don't. stop harassing people over their choices,

          • +3

@[Deactivated]: The cows and their children care.

Is not a personal choice if you're killing someone else to make it happen.

            • +3

@afoveht: Clearly you do not understand how milking a cow works. Milking a cow does not kill the calf nor would any farmer wish to lose a calf. After all there is a reason why nature gave mammals multiple teats. Get your facts straight before proclaiming your propaganda.

              • +1

@Karijini: Clearly? The only clear thing is you have no idea about how dairy works. It's not the bucolic utopia they show on playschool. If you bother to perform a 5 minute websearch or youtube search you might learn something.

              • +1

@Karijini: A male calf is never going to produce milk but will consume food and vet bills etc. What do you think a dairy farmer does with a male calf? A lot more people would be vegan/vegetarian if they actually confronted what is involved in making their food.

            • +3

@afoveht: Every single calf should live happily a long life and every egg should become a happy chick or every animal should be pushed back to jungle where there is no human. I guess that’s what ppl like you are trying to promote. Your focus are about we should not do the “wrong” thing, and care little about if there is a “right” thing. Farmers raise cows for a living. If they can’t sell milk or let ppl eat beef (milk cows generally are not source of beef though), what would happen to cows? Getting eliminated by human or be eliminated by Mother Nature when they were pushed away from farms.

@wolfazrael123: I'm hard eyerolling right now at your comment.

It's not as if people are all going to go vegan overnight and the world will be overrun with cows and chickens. Additionally it's such a logical fallacy that somehow existing as a slave / in an environment where your kind is being used solely as a product and slaughtered quite brutally is better than never existing at all.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: And, you should stop reading comments if you think that's harassment..

  • Is it a milking jar?

  • I love the way they bother to FSC® certify the spoon and pestle and then add a plastic jar!
    Way to go…
