if you're going to wear a mask (and you should), do yourself a favour and use an n95/p2/kf94, these are nowhere near as effective

    • Unless it's proper N95/P2 masks like from 3M - many cheap stuff might not perform as well as real medical professional masks. I use BSN's ProShield 71920-07 personally (level 2, fluid resistant and with similar or better BFE/PFE than cheap N95s), actually cheaper in unit price ~$23 in MedShop (+ delivery, though).

      • yes not all N95's, etc are created equal for sure, I tend to stick with the AMD ones as I believe they are relatively decent and I have some 3M aura's that I plan to use if/when I go on a plane again

        • Not sure the price of AMD you buy, but i have www.oliria.com.au and EOFY22 gives another 10% off, postage is flat $10 if you buy multiple items.

People just need to accept that COVID is an endemic and will likely stay around for our lifetimes unless we get lucky with genetics and mutations that it renders itself extinct.

Masks help only when used properly and when other measures are taken.
I've seen soooooooooo many people wear a n95/p2/kf94 mask with their noses out because its hard to breath. Also seen plenty of people adjust their masks by touching the front as it often becomes uncomfortable over time.

Without other safeguards like washing your hand after touching it, then it means nothing, because your hands will have COVID once you take off your mask.

yes proper use is important for sure, i too see people with noses out or touching the mask incorrectly and just think to myself why bother… I'm not one of those people myself and will continue to try and avoid it as long as I can by wearing one where appropriate, personal responsibility and all as they say
