You are aware that the price is in us$?

    • sorry about that Fixed :)

    Seems very expensive to me.

Currently I'm using a Samsung S21+, but I'm happy to try out cheaper options. Have tried them in the past and they haven't been great, I'll be honest. But I'm an ozbargainer and I'm happy to try again.

Edit - if you can convince me to spend AUD$1224 on this phone… I'll be very impressed!!! Lol

  • I'm looking for a phone too but so hard to find any flagship or similar phone nowadays that has dual sim + dedicated micro sd card. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • Zenfone 8 might fit the bill

I'm not sure this is the deal we've all been waiting for.

    This is expensive.

Irony is if you buy any brands other that what Telstra sells they won't work with volte or VoIP
    Which make phone part useless
This is power of controlled market in Australia bw Optus and Telstra+Vodafone.

My Wife's Realme X3 Superzoom has working Volte on Telstra

    • Working volte and voip on Moose Mobile with several 'import' phones in my family.

    • @marouthu - That is so incorrect it is not even funny.

  • This is an Ad, not a deal. Pay this price, no local warranty support! Why do not buy from Samsung deals?

  • -1

Sounds very expensive for a Chinese phone without a large support period at least for security updates (and without a good record of supporting phones, no promise for support/updates here), with no local warranty.

This is even not considering moral choices of supporting Chinese brands when better alternatives available.

      when better alternatives available.

What alternatives are there? Samsung is literally the only other manufacturer. I just bought one and the battery sucks. Sony's pricing is in another realm. Chinese manufacturers are good for competition.

        Oppo, Samsung, OnePlus

        • +1

Oppo and OnePlus are both Chinese.

          • +2

@Mr Haj: I'm aware, but are better alternatives to ZTE. ZTE is known for cheap but poor quality builds.

Edit: negged, not a great deal compared to alternatives in market - particularly Samsung S22 Ultra at lower price currently.

For the reasonably supported phones, in addition to Samsung, I'd also add Apple and Google/Pixels. Not necessary cheaper but certainly better supported.

        • Yeah for sure. The GSMarena review reported temperatures of 60 degrees on the Axon 40 when testing the CPU and GPU. It's my understanding that the Pixel 6 also has heat issues but like you say you'd receive better support from Google.

I'm not sure what sort of return policy you can expect when buying from a global store. This was probably the main reason I stuck with a purchase here in Aus.

  • It looks like this may get an official Australian release soon
