      Yea already posted https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/708613

      Seems a no-brainer for the extra $100…

guess it depends - 6900 run hot - bigger and not a huge improvement if you want to only game on 1440 p but yeah I guess….$100 aint much

I thought they were the same wattage? The 6900 has more cores and junk so should be able to achieve the same performance for less power.
I bought the 6900xt last week, very happy with it.

Not really, the 6900XT is 5% faster and costs 10% more, in fact since they're so close you won't notice the difference, they're basically the same performance.

8% seems to be the average, if Nvidea you pay through the nose for an extra 10% FPS.
I don't agree they're the same, thats like saying 3080 and 3080 12GB are the same or 308012GB and 3080 TI are the same, but many pay hundreds for the difference.

Perhaps I'm just bitter I bought the TUF 6900xt last week for $1150, if this deal had come up I would have jumped.

Not bitter tho, really loving the performance for 3440x1440, AAA games look amazing compared to 2080.

          • @beeze: Yep, nvidia prices are a pain. Not fun when you specifically need nvidia

          • @beeze: Spare a thought for those who paid $2400 for a RX 6900 XT

          • @beeze: It's like the difference between the 3080 12GB and 3080 Ti. Same VRAM and memory bus, just slightly more compute units, etc.. enabled.

I really think anyone buying a card now is going to regret it a few weeks later. Prices are still in free fall and haven't stabilised. It also seems now that mining is finished, both Ampere and RDNA2 have been vastly overproduced, and there is a lot of stock that will be nearly impossible to sell.

    • Was watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9uzQew342c

Not much gain between 6800 XT and 6900 XT on 1440p.

  • Price on title please

  • Store name too, OP.

Would have loved to have purchased Bitcoin for $2199 a year ago

        • +1

I was referring to over 50% drop 🤣

  • very tempting…

  • I had a quick look on FB market place and the only 2 people selling 6900xt's are both asking over double this .

  • BPC technology doing
MSI Radeon RX 6800 XT GAMING X TRIO @ 999

    • Would pick Asus over MSI any day… Not so proud owner of the MSI 5700xt…

      • The MSI 5700 XT cards were vastly superior to ASUS. ASUS didn't even bother to attach the heatsinks to the GPU Die (they fell off), and then refused to fix the problems for a year, and then blamed AMD for them making shitty cards (when every other GPU manufacturer managed to attack the heatsinks properly).

        • I don't care what some youtuber says bro. They all make money from that platform. I just know what's my experience. Owned two brands and the MSI I have must be built using bubble gum. Crashes all the time and runs hot despite running open case with extra fan pointing at the GPU. No drivers updates helped. I'm not trying to argue here though… It's just my experience. If I needed an upgrade I would totally get the card from this deal, but since I don't, I'll wait for the next gen.
