It's $639.20 if you have access to Samsung Education or EPP portal which includes the 25w charger, silicone case, straps and other accessories. Easily worth the extra $20 over this deal.

    • +3

also, $50 off newsletter code to get it down to $589, I already bought it at this price a couple of days ago and I got 45W charger instead of 25W

      • +1

Just wondering how many days it took from purchase to delivered? Thanks

        • Order 2 days ago and still status is preparing dispatch

    • got a link to that? can't see it coming up for that

      • me either

        • it's ther if you log in to the portal. i bought 2 for that price!

    • Hmm I bought off the education store a month ago and only got a usb c cable?

  • I got it for $497 with stackable code via Samsung loyalty & old s8 trade in bonus, which I may have to return $30 if it is not accepted

    • Still available for this price?

      • +1

Should be, contact [email protected] ask for a stackable code which can be used with the $150 trade up bonus

  • +3

I got this about 2 weeks ago off Samsungs gov deals. It's quite good for the price. 120hz screen, smooth usage, 5000mah battery. 4 years of android updates and 5 of security. Can't go wrong.

    • How much?

      • I was 630ish. Came with a free case, free power charger and free screen protector.

  • +1

I don't get the whole A model thing. Why do we have a galaxy and an A model? Like what's the difference? Why not just shave galaxy FE to replace it?

    • Price and profit margin. While FE is great bang for bucks, at the same time not much margins for Samsung hence rumour it is being cut this year. This is despite Samsung carrying HUGE stock at the moment so it's not supply constraint.

      • +2

No micro sd with the fe

    • The FE is not going to be released anymore.
With the A series the have several different phones from A13 to A73 from low budget to upper mid range.
Just seen the A53 at Costco for $560 from memory.

    • This is a Galaxy A model, the Galaxy name is used across Samsung's smartphone lineup. The A range fills the entire price gap below the flagships. Most would consider the FE an affordable flagship, because it's designed to cut just a few things off the flagship offering.

    • +2
      • A models use plastic design as opposed to glass/metal of S series.
      • Cheaper SoC (processor)
      • Slightly worse camera system (usually only have normal and ultra wide, no telephoto/zoom and they throw in a couple of useless cameras like macro or depth sensor)
      • No premium features like wireless charging

Expect these to fall further in price if the following article is true - https://www.phonearena.com/news/samsung-has-50-million-unsol…

Have to wait for prime day

This or the Poco F3 deal?

    • -2

      Nothing Phone (1) FTW

  • Is this a dual sim phone?

    • -3

      Yeah.

      1x sim + 1x micro sd

      or 2x sim

      • Where does it show on specs its a dual sim phone? On the samsung website it shows single sim only

        • Yeah, I don't think it is dual sim

      • Nevermind. 128gb version only 1x sim+ 1x microsd 😵‍💫

        • +1

          128gb / 6gb version**

Seems like the 8gb version has dual sim but isn't sold in Aus.

This is definitely my ideal phone but it lacks the dual sim.

I'll have a look to see if I can find a international version at similar prices.

    • Nope. 1 sim + 1 micro sd slot.

  • +1

possible price match with jbhifi and use zip $50 promo cashback if you haven't use it.

  • +2

I price matched it to Ebay DigiDirect deal for $620 at The Good Guys last week.
Apparently Today is the last day of Ebay plus deal, if anyone wanted to do the same.
Just in case if you prefer to have this phone from physical store over Online.

    • Hold on.
Bricks are Mortar stores are price matching with eBay vouchers now?
Pretty sure you found someone new or doesn't know how to do their job properly.
I got laughed at the last time I tried doing that.

  • +1

is this smart tag compatible? looking for a new phone to replace my s9+. the new galaxy s range is annoying as there is no sd card slot

  • +1

(WARNING) this is a good phone and a reasonable price but can find better elsewhere, i swapped my nearly 4 year old s10 for it and the processor is very slow on the a73 compared to it. not much optimisation found here

    • Yep, and all Exynos phones feel sluggish to me. Even the S21 FE.

      • +2

        A73 is Snapdragon

        • interesting. must be software. or is Samsung manufacturing the mid-range chips too?

          • +1

@Techie4066: Just a mid range phone that has a better camera than the A33… HV yuck currently selling at $4XX with a $100 gift card

          • +1

@Techie4066: Must be the software as the SD778G that's in this phone is a pretty good upper midrange processor

    • Damn, I was thinking of getting this to replace the s10+

      • I just replaced my Note 10+ with this a week ago and it's identical performance wise for me. Great replacement so far, haven't really missed anything (never used the pen really). Not an upgrade (apart from Camera) but good replacement.

        • Haha i have a note 10plus too, it's still working great though, probably can last another year. Just looking for a cheap but good Samsung phone for my klutz husband. Would you say there's any lag if you run too many things? Just saw below that the camera lags, do you also have that issue?

          • +1

@MeesusEff: No camera lag that I've seen so far, and it handles plenty of chrome tabs and other stuff open the same as the note 10+.

My note just got the green screen of death, handware not software so had to get a new one quick. This came in 2 days.

            • @pumpkins: Thanks! My note is still chugging along fine, but there's one massive dead pixel on the side for some reason that's hella annoying. This one is saying July 9th for me now

  • No headphone jack :(

    • +1

I agree at least there is microsd

    • +5

I would say best value Samsung phone now would have to be A52s, including pretty much everything, except wireless charging. Can get around $507 next day delivered from digidirect ebay plus

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/403303297591?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

      • I agree, A52s best value for sure. Unfortunately not sold widely because it's last year's model.

      • What is the cheapest with wireless charging?

  • +1

    This or S21 FE?

    • If you don't care about micro sd then get fe

  • Paid $590 for this off the edu store and it came with the galaxy buds2. It's an ok phone for the parental units as its got a large screen & loud speakers but i wouldn't want to use one myself.

The camera is laggy af and 6gb of ram isn't enough these days. An ok phone if you're paying less than $500 (once freebies are accounted for), wouldn't pay any more than that.

    • When did you buy it? Is that deal still available on the edu store?

  • +1

This is really the only Samsung A series phone these days with an acceptable processor. The A series is degrading with the A53 being a mostly worse phone than the A52s 5G, it's predecessor, for example. It's a shame, the A series used to be competitive.

  • Are 8gb ram variants sold in AU?

    • Haven't seen any

  • +1

I don't need fancy one just need reliable one, so I bought A33 from JB price match telstra minus $50 ($40 is instant cashback, $10 is pending until you reach rewards goal $20) cashback offer from zip so total $409 (exclude pending $10). https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/mobiles-on-a-plan/s…

  • Will JB or TGG price match this ? Got pile of gift card to use at these stores, also looking at the Motorola Moto Edge 30 which is currently $559 a JB.

    • +1

Will JB or TGG price match this ?

      I think they will.

    • +1

Tried it already. JB won’t do it because it’s an exclusive deal.

  • How does this compare to A53 5G?

  • This or the upcoming Pixel 6a?

    • I think 6a not the same size.
