Bought this one from the ebay sale and have not regretted it. It is an amazing panel if you have good content to play. Even streaming the new Dr. Strange on Disney Plus was really good experience. I know it it isn't perfect etc streaming but I had a good time.

Will say that the Operating System is terrible compared to my 4K Sony and using the controller as a mouse is a bit of a gimmick. Yet this alone shouldn't stop you from buying the TV it's more of an FYI.

I am lacking a sound system or sound bar so if anyone has a suggestion below let me know.

    • +3

Hey man. Get the q950t put up earlier today for $899. Great sound system for that price.

    • +1

Can’t you click on the arrows inside the scroller to control it without the mouse pointer?

      • +6

Yes you can. The OS and mouse pointer have really grown on me personally though

        • +2

The mouse and clicking around the menus becomes the best part of the remote. Needs subtitle and fast forward buttons though.

    • +4

The controller as a mouse wins me over every time. I really would not think the Sony is better at all, in my experience Lg os is faster and far easier to use. Also makes way more sense.

  • +2

I bought this for $2150 last year. Simply amazing TV. No complaints with it at all. I can’t believe how thin it is!

  • +2

I grabbed it for $1,772 a few weeks ago on eBay, and have loved it since taking delivery last week. Just binged The Umbrella Academy in Dolby Vision and it's quite an experience. For this price, it's a steal!

  • +4

Thanks op. Waiting for this to go below $1.5k 😅

    • +5

It's likely to go out of stock first. Good luck, though.

  • is the 4yr extended warranty worth getting??

    • +14

No imho… consumer rights trumps it easily .. these panels are good anyways

      • +2

How does ACL work for TV’s? I just had a 4 year old LG OLED c7 go on fire after LG replaced the power board due to fire risk, the irony. It worked fine for 3.5 years and loved the TV, so the new power board lasted 6 months. LG originally said they would give store credit for a new TV but now they are giving me the runaround

        • +1

They’ve actually just sent me new 65” C2. Result

  • Can JB HIFI price match it?

    • Should be able to.

    • I think JB has run out the stock already.

    • Just about zero stock for 55" at JB HiFi

    • i asked JB to price match earlier this month for the 65 and got rejected. try BingLee ymmv

  • +10

Wish the 65” and 75” would come on at decent price

    • +1

      Same!

    • 65" was $2492 delivered on the 7th june. Not enough stock for good price anymore.

  • +3

Please dear lord baby jesus discount the 48"

    • -1

      4K on a 48" ???

      • +4

Yep. The newer c2 is 42" which would be perfect. I need to wall mount this to use as a monitor. 55" on the wall is just too big/bright (first world problems)

        • +1

I wall mounted my 48inch C1 with a movable Vogul mount. It's perfect! I was worried it would be too big and should wait for the 42 C2 but glad I didn't. I leave a small gap between my standing desk and the screen but my table is only 750mm deep.

          • @wayl: nice man! thats what i want also, how do you find it?
any eye strain or needing to move your head? also how's the brightness being so close, any discomfort from the oled?

            • @PensionerXXL: Nope. I set it with a darker mode, and change all my teams and windows setting to black background to avoid burn in. No discomfort whatsoever. Wished I could post a pic to show you. I also have a camera mounted on a stick mount on the front right of my desk. It's perfect. I never want to work anywhere else again lol.

              • @wayl: sounds sweet man, thanks for the reply i think this is the direction i will head in, cheers mate!

                • @PensionerXXL: No probs. Hope you get a good price on the 48 C1! I paid $1695 for your reference but no doubt cheaper now.

  • If there is still some stock at Good Guys you might be able to get $1750 pickup

    • Makes me cringe losing 7" for 50 bucks lol

HOOOLLLDDDD!!!! hopefully the c2 gets some discounts or bonuses applied ~.~

      • +9

I'd pay 50 bucks for 7 inches any day

      • He probably means $1750 for the 55", not the 48".

        • +2

This is $90 more expensive than I paid for the 48" which at the time I felt was a good deal but no regrets, 55" isn't suitable for a desk to

    • For the 55"?

  • +3

I just picked up the 75" Samsung QN90B for the lounge. so tempted to get this in the man cave.. the wife might kill me though..
Been wanting OLED for so long..

  • $3624.. which is very close to the Samsung EPP, I just didn't have to go through the Samsung store. Was able to get this price as we were buying a whole heap of other whitegoods for the move into our house.
Was a little concerned about the firmware dimming bug that is out there but I am sure it will be ok. I will hold off on updating firmware for a while.

  • +1

Thats a good price would buy if i needed a TV

  • +3

    It's never the 77"

    • +1

Think there's just very little c1/g1 77" stock left this time around and at this point and what is left is being sold by individual discounts, eg you barely have to twist JB's arm to get the G1 77" for close to 5K.

Sony still seems to have a fare few 77" left on their store and around at retailers, I expect retailers with do another discount/promo on that in the near future.

  • Bought this in last eBay deal - decent TV but found it way too dark and blacks were crushed to death. HDR was almost non existent. Turning off energy saver helped ALOT, and then fine tuning the settings but I feel I still haven’t got it totally right yet to my taste. Anyone else have a similar experience with the C1? (Coming from a B6)

    • +10

nope, use the rtings settings never had a problem..

    • +5

Watch YouTube - Hdtvtest c1 settings. Easy as.

    • +7

why would you start off your complaint and then say you had energy saver mode on……

      • +2

Not complaining - just noting that the energy saver really impacts the C1. It’s default out of the box so was more a PSA

        • ok I'm just wanted to say that it's widely known to never use energy saving mode and turn it off right away on TV then.

  • +1

Why there is so much interest on this TV?

    • +1

OLED is pretty much the go to, for best picture quality these days.

LG's C series is incredibly popular, well acclaimed and feature rich.

This is possibly one of, if not the lowest prices for a quality 55" OLED. It's just a great time in general tbh, even if you dislike LG and WebOS the Sony 55" for $210 more is a solid buy for $210 more (and also its lowest price to date).

      • Which sony model

        • The A80J which comes with Google TV inbuilt.

      • Can always just pickup a Google TV for an extra $70-$90 anyways.

  • +1

Bought one and the bluetooth doesn't work, going through a return process.

  • +1

decent TV. went to QN800A over this considering the life span of OLED and main use as a monitor. However the QN800A picture was no where close and the connection issues/ panel was just a nightmare….

Switched back to 55 C1 and hasn't regreted yet., works pretty well..

  • +3

Have one of these, and it's been fantastic. If you're on the edge about getting one, I don't know what to say besides go for it so you can enjoy it more

  • +2

This price is a no brainer if you’re on the fence of getting one. Bought one a month ago for the bedroom from same store C&C. Panel is impressive. Although not a big fan of the WebOS. Using it with fire stick 4K max but I think the native apps on the WebOS produces much nicer colours. It’s good how the magic remote works to control the fire stick too.

    • Does the Bluetooth works on your tv?

      • Works fine on my 77C1 with my Bose 700s..

  • Hectic deal!

  • I have one of these C1 LG TVs. I bought it a couple of years ago same price. Picture quality is flawless. It uses the WebOS operating system which is a little clunky. It has some idiosyncrasies that I found annoying but understandable. The main one is if you select audio output as both internal speaker and optical via SPDIF, say to an older non HDMI amplifier, it only passes through 2 channels to the amp. If you select Optical out only all channels will pass through. There are reasons why they have done this but it is annoying. Optical out on its own via SPDIF works perfectly. That being said, I'd buy it if I didn't already have one.

  • +2

    Price jumped to $1880.

  • Yep price jumped up again. Having second thoughts are you Appliance Central?

    • Not second thoughts just means they've some units
