Another day, another awful GPU deal vs 6900 XT deal.

    • +8

It’s not about comparing gpu’s, it’s about a deal on a specific product, there’s more to using a gpu than just gaming, software is commonly optimised for one over the other. Yes against 6900xt it’s not a good deal but not everyone needs a 6900xt do they?

      • +1

Most gamers would benefit from it tho, RT and CUDA just isnt something a lot of people (myself included) use.
That being said also pays to look at which titles you play, some do better on AMD (I'd imagine console games) and others NVidia.

        • Well I’m not buying a gpu over games, most games I play run on low end, but amd drivers for davinci resolve mean a 3060ti outperforms a 6900xt overall, so is a 6900xt be a bad deal? No, because that’s only one of a thousand reasons for buying a gpu, as is gaming…

    • Agreed that its more expensive vs the 6900XT. But its not that simple a comparison.

Driver stability, DLSS and ray tracing are all features that Nvidia do better than AMD. While AMD FSR has caught up a lot now, its still not quite on par. And Nvidia continues to have their lead in ray tracing performance.

While I agree that not everyone needs ray tracing. If you are in the market for a GPU in this market bracket, then you definitely would be considering ray tracing performance as there are plenty of cheaper graphics cards that can give you high frame rate rasterized games at 4k.

HODL. Wait for prices to drop further

  • 'good' price on those 3080 tis, i guess… but yeah nah hodl.

  • +4

    normal price not a deal

  • +5

Those 3080s should have dropped to 1k by now, or it's not a deal

This site is for posting bargains, not for retailers desperately trying to clear rapidly depreciating stock, at absurd prices.

  • +14

Fight the power! Down with absurd prices!

  • +6

    HODL!!

  • +6

    Not a chance. Terrible.

  • +4

Got the email, went to see what the prices were on their GPUs with the big banners of "up to $400 off". Realised very quickly they have some inflated RRP if their reductions are bringing them down to those prices.

    • +3

Every retailer has nuts RRP’s, left over remnants from when those were the common price

  • +5

With the others, nothing special here. I'm not seeing any deals.

  • Does DLSS on the 3080 not have much better product saturation over FSR still, despite the gap being narrowed? Is that not a valid reason for some to consider it?

    • The 3080 usually performs better than the 6900XT at 4K, and that's not even bringing DLSS and raytracing into the picture — and yes, DLSS is still better than FSR 2.0 in most scenarios. There's a reason why the 6900XT is cheaper.

  • +4

Sorry, OP — Discount on badly inflated price does not give legitimate good deal.

The downvote isn't against you, but to demonstrate to retailer on consumer's voice.

We will remember you contributed and indirectly bring us better deal.

Stock is genuinely depreciating, Crypto crash + release of 4000 series cards is finally returning prices back to normal.

  • +1

    Too high

  • +1

These guys were the worst for GPU price inflating. I'll boycott them for many years yet.

  • -1

    not a bargain

  • +1

Everyone chucking a whinge like thye're doing themselves a favour by waiting 4 months for a 4xxx series card and then going to start complaining about the availability (or lack thereof) at release LOL. With that mindset you'll get a functioning computer maybe in a year.
