    • are all 3060 the same across nitro?

They are, but I suspect your biggest problem with this config is you'll run out a power from the brick due to processor higher power requirement. Do a search for Acer nitro 5 on here, most deals will have a bunch of comments on the downfalls of this system.

Unless you Need a laptop, 1400 will get you a better pc from techfast.

these have 3060 95W, and the panel has poor color space coverage. also, 4-core i5 has no issues feeding into 95w 3060, having i9 in this machine is overkill

    Harvey Norman, no deal

I9 will certainly throttle in this chassis. I had an i5 11400H variant of this with the 3060 and the i5 was running around 85 degrees in game and that was after a noctua NT-H1 repaste

    • Same issue for me. I managed to undervolt the CPU and make things a bit cooler.

    1. Can you use the gift card on the laptop? If not, then you're not saving $300. You are paying $1698 for $1998 worth of Harvey Norman merchandise.

    2. Next generation Nitros have arrived. I would expect the prices of last gen Nitros to decrease further.

    • you can spend the $300 on a ram upgrade I guess.

Or buy a SATA drive and/or M.2 Drive to go in it.

Neither of these are ideal as $1700 gets you a better laptop or a much much better desktop.

  • i9+nitro=hot

    • winter is coming…

  • If you have an edu email just get the Lenovo IdeaPad gaming with updated screen and higher TGP 3060 for $1299.

    • higher TGP 3060

      That's 90W.

      The nitro 5 is 95W

      • true that.

Lenovo has much better screen though, so if gaming on the laptop is priority, Lenovo sounds just better
