      • +3

good for you! courier please driver faked my signature as prove of delivery, myer says courier please have delivered the item and it's my fault not having the item, happy end for both myer and courier please

Australian retailers: lets all treat customers like shit.

Also Australian retailers: why are so many people buying from Amazon instead of us?

couriers please are hit or miss depending on the guy in the van , prefer austpost or startrack as they leave at post office if nobody is home

        • That is what I thought but Startrack have just claimed they cannot deliver my Dell monitor to a post office. My only option is to pick it up from the depot or nominate a different address where someone will be home in the middle of the day to receive it. Not impressed with them anymore

  • literally just placed an order, can i cancel and reorder?

I've haven't been able to cancel an order with Myer before. Unless something has changed, you might have to return the items.

Can someone please confirm if the Cashback will work when the payment is made using the gift card from special.com.au from this deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/709933

    • -2

Best not to as I’m not sure if SB classify the Special cards as gift cards or Mastercards. If it’s the former then it’s in their don’ts:

Purchase of Giftcards and Purchases with the use of Giftcards ( Whether Partial / Fully ) / Myer Loyalty / Promo code not listed on ShopBack

      • +4

I would be extremely surprised if Myer distinguished between prepaid gift cards and prepaid/debit/credit cards and then decided to invalidate cashback on orders paid for with prepaid gift cards.

        • Special gift cards are prepaid gift cards that operate on the Mastercard network. To redeem a Special gift card online, you have to enter the Mastercard details into the debit/credit card field on the checkout. You cannot enter it into gift card field on the checkout, which means that Myer would most likely report to Shopback that you used a debit/credit card as a payment method.

        • When someone asked late last year whether you could use Coles Gift Mastercards (another Mastercard prepaid gift card) in conjunction with cashback from First Choice Liquor, GYB confirmed that it would be okay with cashback, because payments from the Coles Gift Mastercard would be classified as a credit card payment, not a gift card payment.

        • I have also used prepaid gift cards a couple of times at First Choice Liquor online. Purchases paid with gift cards have been excluded for as long as I can remember for First Choice Liquor, but cashback has always been approved when I've used prepaid gift cards. I find it strange that First Choice Liquor (and Liquorland and Vintage Cellars) state cashback will be invalidated if you use gift cards as a payment method, because it is not even possible to redeem any gift cards issued by Coles Group on any of their liquor websites!

        • I used a Mastercard prepaid gift card through a Target cashback deal earlier this year, and cashback was approved yesterday. When I made the purchase, the merchant page clearly stated that purchases paid with gift cards would invalidate cashback.

        • Additionally, how would Myer be able to correctly distinguish between a prepaid gift card and a prepaid/debit/credit card? You could look at the BIN (bank identification number) of any card redeemed on their website, but the problem is that I doubt Myer can compare a BIN redeemed on their site with a list of prepaid gift card BINs used by Mastercard or Visa, because I don't think such a list exists (at least not to the general public). Myer could keep their own list of blacklisted BINs, but how would they determine a BIN to blacklist? If they accidentally blacklist the wrong BIN (e.g. a BIN used for Commonwealth Bank debit cards), GYB would have an absolute nightmare on their hands!

When I see gift cards in the Myer context, I understand it as either gift cards issued by Myer (e.g. Myer gift card, Myer Loyalty gift card, Myer Returns gift card) or Coles Group & Myer gift cards. For example, If I went to a physical Myer store and asked to pay via gift card, the checkout would ask me to either swipe a physical gift card or for the barcode of a gift card. If you presented a prepaid gift card that operated on the Mastercard or Visa networks, the checkout would be unable to redeem them unless the checkout operator went back to redeem them just like any other Mastercard or Visa card (and I know this, because I tried this at a Myer store couple of months ago!).

  • Ah darn, misread the post and shopped this morning and didn’t get the full cash back :(

  • Hey guys ordered on the last 17% Myer cash back deal. Normally how long does it take them to verify your order to receive cash back?

    • The cashback should’ve tracked within 2 days. Maybe reach out to GYB via dm with your order number?

    • 30 mins after myer receive order email.

    • It was within 10mins for me

  • Any good deals people have found?

  • I just used this deal to buy an instant pot duo for $149 but only got $15.36 tracked cashback…
    Please help me understand

    • +2

      11% on Toys & Entertainment

"Entertainment & Electrical category includes electronics, audio & speakers, computers & laptops (including games and accessories), heating & cooling, household & kitchen appliances, phones & accessories, movies & music, personal & health care appliances,"

The cashback is correct which is 11% since it is a kitchen appliance

      • +1

Cashback tracked for Exprise is slightly higher than 11%. I’ve tried other combinations like including GST and using 17% but still can’t arrive at $15.36

        $149/1.1 (GST) x 11% = $14.9
        $149 x 11% = $16.39

      • WTF..
So cooking my dinner is called entertainment now…?

        • Nope but I'm sure an instant pot duo is considered electrical

          • @NotaSpender: Didn't read that in the title zzz : (

Yes it says it lower down in the body

        • maybe a…….toy? :P

    • What's the category? What's the pre gst amount?

      • How to find out?

Placed 2 orders, the second one shows $0 Cashback. Let me try to re-place the order, annoying.

    • +1

Did you use gift cards on your second order?

      • -1

No, same brand, same credit card.

        • +1

Maybe dm GYB with your Myer order number?

The only other possible reason that could have resulted in $0 cashback if purchased brands like Chanel or Dior

          • -1

@BargainsGrabber: I re-placed my order, will return $0 order straight away after collect it.

          • @BargainsGrabber: Hi @bargainsgrabber

I had 2/3 orders track as $0 cashback, was wondering how I follow it up (new to shopback). Can I please ask who GYB is? Cheers!

            • +1

              @liam1983: Hey Liam

GYB is @gotyourback and the official store rep for ShopBack. Here’s the direct OzB link to DM GYB directly

Did you use any form of gift cards/Myer credit/promo codes on your Myer order or return any items? These could cause your cashbacks to track at $0

              • +2

@BargainsGrabber: Thanks so much, I'll follow up with GYB.

I bought 3 pairs of jeans in 3 separate transactions all through the shopback app. Figured I would likely return one pair and had read in the comments here to do separate transactions so that a return doesn't impact the cashback on other items. Didn't use giftcards/Myer credit/codes or do anything different to the one transaction that did track (2nd order).

Appreciate the help and quick response!

  • Re " Best to split the transaction into separate orders". Does this mean one should purchase each product separately ie as a separate payment transaction. Or is there some way to "split the [one] transaction" into separate "orders" and still make a single payment as the wording of the suggestion refers to a single "the" transaction? If separate purchases and payments - does that mean that this ShopBack deal is eligible on an unlimited number of transactions? I don't see anything on the notifier or terms about it only being valid for a single transaction. Anyone having made multiple orders able to confirm tracking for all? Looks like noodlefan had an issue.

    • I did two orders and both have tracked.

      • Thanks. Just to confirm, when you say 2 orders, you mean 2 completely separate Myer transactions with 2 separate credit card payments? Its just the wording of the advice is a bit confusing as it refers to multiple orders and one "transaction". Also, presumably this means you can't accumulate towards the free delivery cap - for items that are under it - so I suppose for those you need to determine whether it is better to get the free delivery or the cash back (assuming unavailable in store of course)? Is that right?

        • Anyone? Just checking that "separate orders" (to avoid loss of cash back on all items if a single one is canceled or returned) means completely separate purchases? ie Not somehow splitting a single purchase transaction into multiple "orders" - whatever that may mean? Please can someone advise?

        • Yeah two seperate transactions

          • @tofuguts: Thanks. I'll suggest the wording of the advice is changed. I'm guessing you don't need to log into Myer or reactivate the shopback each time - just keep Myer open with Shopback activated once, do all the separate transactions - and done?

            • @belbo: I went back through ShopBack for the second order just to be sure, but you should still be logged into Myer

            • @belbo: Cheers, I’ll fix it to separate transactions

              • @BargainsGrabber: Hi mate. I made 11 purchases between 3 and 4 pm. Have click history for only 9 if them - and not one cash back confirmation. How can this be? Really annoying and a real waste of my time if they do not track. All of them were on the super weekend sale. Have been a long time user of Shopback with just about all purchases tracking in the past (but don't think I've used on Myer before). Am not disqualified in terms of any of the "dont's" or carve-outs. Had my ad-blocker disabled for the entire domain, refreshed Shopback each time etc. Can you have a look into it for me please?

                • @belbo: Hey mate

Sorry to hear that you’ve only 9 out of 11 click history. Would you be able to dm GYB? GYB is the official store rep for ShopBack :)

                  Cheers!

  • BTW - It looks like everyone is getting pretty much immediate Shopback confirmation. I've made 4 transactions. No Shopback tracking notifications yet ??? Have ad blocker turned off, Shopback Chrome notifier is showing the deal is active.

    • 30 mins after myer email

      • Cool. Thanks. Holding thumbs. Hope it goes through and all this effort is worth it.

      • +1

Click history showing but absolutely no cash back notifications or records on Shopback, nearly an hour after the first transaction.🙈
