You can get a 9th Gen i7 NUC Extreme for $765 + Delivery + 1% Surcharge at Shopping Express
    Alternatively an 11th Gen i7 NUC Extreme for $990 + Delivery + 1% Surcharge
The 10% off applies during checkout

    • That 11th Gen i7 looks sweet. Should I cancel my i9 order? Yikes!
But its pity its a tad larger dimension.

      • +1

Yeah, the 11th gen "NUC" isn't any smaller than some mini-ITX builds.
Gives you more GPU options but is it really a NUC at this point?

        • Exactly. I like carry my NUC but not at that size. And its not like im going full FPS with gaming, I got my PS5 for that purposes. :)

        • Wow have they got cases that small now? The Mini-ITX specification is 17cm wide. The Beast Canyon stands 19.5cm high including the rubber feet.

          That's impressive.

Also I think the NUC refers more to the compute element inside, which is amazingly tiny for what it does. The rest is PSU and space for the GPU.

      • Genuine question: what do you use your NUC for?

        • For me, I actually had a RX 6700 XT graphics card I'd won from a competition sitting on the shelf for a bit and I was looking for a small PC build (don't want a bohemoth just something reasonable on the desk). So when Australia finally got some allocation of Beast Canyon I grabbed one. It wouldn't have fitted in hte then current Ghost Canyon.

I use it all day every day for work, and crank up games on it in my downtime.

Works really well on Control, Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Surprised the hell out of me but it's pretty damn potent for it's size. At's attached to a Dell S2721DGF (1440p) from another OzBargain deal a while back. With HDR on everything looks schmick and framreates are really good.

So yeah, but work and play - it's a pretty good all-rounder.

Recommended Customer Price for this is $1066.84

$67 off for something released 2 years ago. No thanks.

    • +1

      Ouch, missed that.

Damn Staticice misled me again. :(

      Thx for coming.

    • $1066.84

Where'd you get this number from? Seems oddly specific for an RRP

    • This was most certainly not the RRP 2 years ago.

Purchased this at RRP from PCCG in July 2020 when it first came out, for $2,399.00. So it's significantly cheaper now. But such is the pace of technology.

  • I guess if anyone was wondering what to do with this:

Tailor made graphics card for the NUC 9 - Asus Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Ti V2 Mini OC
There's been a few deals on this lately, the best price atm seems to be $799 + Delivery at Scorptec

  • The Asrock Deskmeet literally crashes theses It has AMD and Intel version. You choose latest cpu and gpu you like and you have 4 ram slot for 128GB ram. And it is also 8Litre. Why this junk? And the AMD version of Deskmeet is only 260AUD.(converted)

    • +1

      Where can buy in Australia?

    • +1

      Amazon has UK imports available,

      ASRock DeskMeet X300 AMD ~$417
      ASRock DeskMeet B660 Intel ~$474

AMD version of Deskmeet is only 260AUD

Where can we buy it for $260?

      • -2

        In Asia.

        • +1

          But we're on OzBargain

          • -1

@fastnet: Then buy from UK. It is still better than this.

    • I think you're referring to the Asrock DeskMini, which is ~$260 locally.

      • No Deskmini is the smaller one which does not support dGPU.

        • I know that, but the DeskMini is the only barebone mini PC by Asrock available for the price you stated.

          • -1

@magic8ballgag: No it is not. It is simple: Aussie retailers want to clear their old stock before getting new ones. If 12th gen is available who is going to buy 9th gen?

            • @theabyss: What are you talking about?

The DeskMeet is not even available in Australia, and international pricing is almost double the price that you stated.

              • -1

@magic8ballgag: Yes they are not going to be available before they clear their old 9th gen stock. And even if with double price it is better buy than this old thing. Don't you agree? If you think $1000 for the old 9th gen is a better deal feel free to buy it.

    • +3

      And it is also "8Litre"

      Asrock Deskmeet: 32.6 x 28.9 x 21.7

      NUC 9th gen: 23.8 x 21.6 x 9.6

Comparing a fine Premium Swiss chocolate to a chinese mooncake.

      • -2

All your data are wrong. Please go to official website spec section. And Asrock advertised it to be 8 litre by the way. They don’t need to lie on a thing so obvious.
        Official Data:
        Dimension
        - 168 (W) x 219.3 (D) x 218.3(H) mm (excl. Protrusions)
        - 168 (W) x 236.1 (D) x 221.6(H) mm (incl. Protrusions)
People who have a brain inside their head should be able to see this clearly.
And unluckily every single “Swiss chocolate” in pc hardware category are designed or made China. If you do not like it please do not buy anything from Asus,Gigabyte, Asrock, etc or anything else from them. Then you will be all good. But you will not be able to get any PC built up in the end.
        AMD Version:
        https://www.asrock.com/nettop/AMD/DeskMeet%20X300%20Series/i…
        Intel Version:
        https://www.asrock.com/nettop/Intel/DeskMeet%20B660%20Series…

        • +2

I got the dimension from Amazon link above. Don't blame the messenger lmao.

So Asrock Deskmeet is still larger than NUC9. There is no argument about that. NUC9 is about 4 something litres.

Btw this post is about the lowest price drop bargain (as per staticice), not about comparing NUC9 to a Samsung fridges, BMW or whatever. Also I wasn't disagreeing with you, but your NUC hating was kinda odd. If you think Ascrock Deskmeet is the real deal, why don't you post a bargain about it?

Lastly if I want your Asrock (as if you can get one right now), I might as well get a full size desktop. You know, brain says larger is better (& thats what she said too).

      Literally crashes?

Do you know what literally actually means? And what do you mean "crashes"?

Your comments aren't very thoughtful and quite rude below.

I'm happy to hear of any alternatives to mini PCs but just because the Intel systems are not to your liking they are FAR from "junk". They are very solid and reliable machines that don't "crash" at all.

I'm genuinely interested but your obvious Intel hatred and rude tone kinda turns me off from looking further.

All these so call NUC total unnecessary design, the 1k price enough to build by yourself if purchase parts and cases and you can learn a lot, so many lazy around peoples in their so call 21 century, they rather enjoy the coffee and talk nonsense and refuse to do hands on jobs even its easy enough…

    • +3

I'll refrain from saying "ok boomer" but not everyone has the time and energy to build their own PC.
Furthermore, the NUC offers a very small form factor for those who don't have a lot of space or want portability.
Building a mini-ITX system is generally far more expensive and difficult than a standard ATX desktop so the NUC exists to fill this gap. It's a niche so naturally entails a price premium

    • +1

Thanks for raising this. We'll discuss this while lounging around at the next Intel NUC owners club Coffee catch-up.

I got the larger Beast Canyon and very happy with it. Was glad to pay a bit extra for the design etc.
Fits on my desk nicely, is quite and performs well. The compact size was the main factor, and the lower power wattage than a full size PC.
      https://dist.contentdriver.com.au/intel/BEAST-CANYON-RNUC11B…
pic from the web - I'm not as nice looking as that person.

      • +1 for the Beast Canyon.

Solid piece of equipment. I have the i9 on my desk also. Most reliable silicone I've owned in a long time.

        • i7 for me as I don't game (much). Added 64gb ram and 3060 gpu. The one in the OP was just too cramped for my liking. The beast fits to the side behind my screen so takes up no usable desk space.

          @ramrunner
What fan settings do you run yours are? Mine 'spikes' the cpu fan for no reason every few minutes which is a bit annoying. Only way to stop it was to keep it on constant mode.

          • @Skullytor: When using as daily driver - Balanced CPU and Quiet fan settings.
When gaming - max performance and cool fan settings.

Yeah when I'm using it as daily driver I do hear the fan spin up occasionally but it's otherwise pretty dead silent. Usually when cranking up the Chrome tabs or defender is having it's usual fit.

It generally sits at 2-3% CPU usage while I'm using it. When it spikes to 5-8% it will spin up briefly.

Even when it does though - it's so much more quiet than my older desktops, but yeah, because it goes from dead silent to hearing a fan, you do notice it.

            • @Ramrunner: I hear the spin ups even when the PC is idle

if you set the cpu fan to constant in the bios the spin ups are less noticeable

  • +1

Too fancy! It comes with hard shell carry case.
