Yeah i got the AMD legion 5 pro 3070 for $1890 couple of months ago deal.

I thought it was just me, I don't really see this as a good deal at all.

    16" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 45%NTSC, 300 nits

    45% NTSC: 🤮

More resolution and better quality panel, >= 16GB of non-upgradable RAM and we'll consider it.

For an office laptop, or really anything that doesn't do colour sensitive work. Why does it matter? I do usual admin and dev work, and yeah occasionally the colours are a bit washed out, but definitely wouldn't pay more for a wider gamut. Would definitely put that money into any other spec.

I do agree for anything but basic office usage, 16gb is getting required.

  • Never knew there was a T16

    • Its basically next gen of T15 gen 2 with 16:10 display

  • It is a good laptop with 16 screen, latest AMD Pro chip, 1.6kg and Thinkpad T series reputation. Yes 16gb of ram is a must nowadays so I ordered mine with it. If you look into other 16 business laptops, you will pay more than $2k.

  • Isnt this a better deal?

    Lenovo Yoga 7 14" Gen 7 2in1, AMD Ryzen 6600U(6C/12T), 2.8k OLED 90hz 400nits Touch,16GB RAM, 512GB SSD $1640 @ Lenovo

$1815.79 if change the cpu to a 6880u. For $107 than the OPs posted laptop. Its worth it. Smaller screen but a far better specced screen.

  • It seems that T16 AMD only has soldered DDR5 memory up to 16GB, which won't be enough for a business laptop. On the other hand the T16 Intel model has an extra DDR4 SIMM slot, same battery capacity but half the battery life.

Been eyeing this laptop off since January. Was deterred by the full price so thanks for the update on the sale.

People love to dismiss these laptops after glancing at their specs. Not too many people left that understand the intangibles that ThinkPads provide, let alone the niche that a 15-16 inch business laptop with good battery life, ports and a number pad fills.

The amd variant is awesome cosve their 6nm TSMC chips finally somewhat rivalling arm battery life. A bit disappointed that the 86w battery option isn't offered. I would've considered one with an Intel 11th gen, shame they had to go with the regressive 12th gen chips. Still pretty crazy to FINALLY get a form factor redesign over the 10+ year 15 inch paradigm.

This really is a return to form by Lenovo. I haven't found anything compelling since my current t580 with the monster 72wh rear battery. If you've bought one, I'd love it if you could update with a review.

  • Also p16s with 86wh battery discounted, albeit for quite a bit more
