What the OP didn't mention is that according to the listing, as part of the 'anycubic fan day' deal is you get 2x500ML bottles of resin for free which is around $30 value usually. I've definitely got my eye on the Photon X 6K, price is getting tempting…

      • Good to know.

My mono purchased in June is going strong and I am surprised how the resin printers have evolved over the years.

I had Photon S collecting dust still in my living room :-).

I have been non-stop printing with mono.

Apologies — yes, but that one doesn’t include the resin promo. Also, that one will expire in 7 days too.

  • $496 for the photon 4k and wash & cure 2.0, is this a good price? seems like the wash and cure is $185 by itself, and printer is $317, so only saving a few $ buying as a combo, but i guess you need both any way? oh and 2x 500g resins included.

New to resin printing, so what else would I need, i have heaps of IPA for my FDM printer, so just some gloves and a mask?

    • If you’re new to resin printing I would suggest get the 2K mono and the wash and cure. If you get into it seriously then maybe step up to the Mono X 4K or X 6K.

      • Just curious, how are LCD screens considered a consumable? Under the warranty details it states "exclude consumable parts like LCD screen"

        • The intense UV light tends to damage LCD screens over time. From what I've heard, 1000hrs is not crazy to see. I think of it a bit like how a projector bulb burns out over time too. They are replaceable though.

      • what is the cost of the 2K mono and wash and cure please? getting confused with all the eBay selection options

        • AU $329.00 for both together :)

Are any of these good for a beginner and which would you suggest is the best bang for buck?

They will all work pretty similar to one another. I have the Photon Mono + Wash and Cure station at work and its great, at $329 its a pretty good combo deal. If you can afford the extra for one of the higher resolution printers, say the 4k, then I would def shoot for that.

Depending on what you want to print, I find that size bed acceptable. The thing about resin printing is its only the height of the object that increases print time, not the footprint. So it takes the same amount of time to print 10 identical models as it would to print 1 of the same model. If you are going to be doing lots of repeat parts then having a larger bed means you can churn out lots more prints in the same amount of time.

      • Thanks and after quick google search its pretty much required to have Wash and Cure station right?

        • To wash and cure is required but an actual device like this now.

Will still need IPA or metho to wash the print and a uv light to cure it

        • Washing and curing is required, but you could do it manually. With how easy it is using these wash and cure stations though I wouldn't be getting a resin printer without one. They take up < 30cm x 30cm of bench space and save so much mess.

          • @02keilj: I currently don't have one, and yes .. life is a bit messy.

  • Curious, does that transparent case block up light?

    • I have both Mono and cure station (version 1.0).
They filter out a certain colour and the UV light looked white by seeing through the cover.

  • Hi Op (@pinchies),

Is the 2x500ml bonus free resin still on offer?
Looking at the description in the eBay listing, it is no longer mentioned.
And if it is still offered, is it automatically shipped or do we need to add to the cart or add a note?
    Thanks!

      Hi @avexmax,

I've clarified with the AnyCubic rep that the bonus resin is only available with the models that show the resin on the model photo. That should be all models in this listing except the Mono 2K and Mono SE. All the others still come with a bonus 2x 500g resin. No note is required when ordering, a random colour of resin will be shipped with the order.

      Apologies for any confusion!

      • No problems at all. Thanks pinchies for clarifying with the rep on this and responding to my query. Appreciate the assistance.

  • What is the print resolution in microns on the mono 2k?
