Wasnt it 599 or so a week ago from Godfrey's website? EOFY deal or something

it was, and I missed it unfortunately…

Yeah it was $599 ($530 ish with some ebay deal), for like a month. Worth it at that price to stick to s3 but when it's 700ish range might be better consider the s5. Got the s3 though and I've gone from mopping once a month to every 2 days, super happy with it

      • can it be used as a vacuum only for carpeted floors? or hard floor only?

        • +1

Hard floor only. S5 has a suction only function but they still don't recommend it for carpet, and those who tried said it sucks as a carpet vacuum

  • 36% dearer compare to last month. I don't think this will be a popular deal.

I hate recommending Amazon, but Tineco Australia is selling directly through Amazon and for $699 you can get the S5 steam version (but it is NOT cordless)

    • The s5 Pro is cordless, $1k though. $939 with Ebay Godfrey store, SNSHOGA code.

      • Is the few hundreds extra worth it for cordless?

        • +1

          S5 steam = not cordless
S5 Pro is cordless (not steam)
          S3 is cordless (not steam)

          • @shmahoo: Do you use the S5? Is $699 the best price we can get atm lol?

        • +1

Honestly, the s3 is good enough, if it drops down to $599 again it's definitely worth it. The benefit of the S5 over s3 is slightly bigger tanks (like 200ml) so if you just do an area at a time it doesn't make a difference, each floor takes 1 tank for me.

It also has a better edge cleaning BUT it still leaves a 1cm ish gap, compared to s3's 1inch. I didn't think it justified the price difference for me. Also note that it's edge cleaning on one side only so if you have low wall shelves like under your TV, its pointless. It also can't bend down low, so keep that in mind.

I would definitely pick cordless over corded, and you can't turn the steam off so if you have some wooden floors then it won't work.

          • @MeesusEff: Thanks, I wanted the steam function as we have tiles and I personally think it's more hygienic. Tried to join the Mums who Clean FB using hubby's account (I don't have fb) so I can read some reviews but somehow was rejected lol!

@greenie: I'm in there haha, I did try to search the steam one but no one had written anything on it, only the s3 and s5. I think personally If you can be bothered plugging it in then it would work for you, but cordless would be way more convenient. I use the bissell solution which is way cheaper so I like to think thats clean enough.

@greenie: This website give a fair comparison between the 2

I’ve had my s3 for almost a year and even though I paid full price (I know terrible ozbargainer) it’s been worth every cent. We have 3 kids under 4 and Italian travertine floor. It gets used at least once a day if not more!

  • This was $200 cheaper a few weeks ago online and are reduced to $599 instore every few weeks/months according to Godfreys staff, who also said to buy midweek as the deals aren't extended to peak shopping centre trading times (weekends). If you must have this device, which is bloody brilliant - we have polished hardwood & floating floors + tiled bathrooms I suppose it's better than full price but I'd recommend waiting until it's on sale again.

  • Can this be used as a regular normal vacuum cleaner?
