Just bought this for $425 at Amazon - great price. Good luck getting a decent ITX board right now to build in it though.

    • Any recommendation of which mini itx board you'll recommend with cpu?

      • The only good priced motherboards are for 11th gen cpus atm for mini itx

    • +1

Not wrong, had a look on PC part picker and it's slim pickings unless you want to spend $400

      • +3

This is why, unless you need an ITX, I would recommend building mATX or ATX.

    • Would depend intel or amd but i guess if you meant going for latest current gen cpu woth mini itx board you may be right. But I'm retrofitting a amd 5600 into my b550i board

    • +2

Just took a look and you're not wrong, if you're in the market for a z690 board for instance you can pick up a Asrock Z690M-ITX for $349 + PP from various places but Asrock can be a bit of a mixed bag and their Bios is the worst by far compared to MSI/Asus/Gigabyte.

I would probably go for this Gigabyte Z690I AORUS Ultra Lite DDR4 for US$239.80 (AUD$352.26) after fees and charges but be aware as it's from the US the shipping time is almost a month.

      • +1

Good luck finding stock of that ASRock board in stock anywhere - and beware the Gigabyte Z690i is a repackaged version of their regular Aorus Ultra models after it was revealed many of them couldn't do PCIe gen4 on their pcie slots. i wouldnt recommend buying a 12th gen rig and limiting yourself to 3rd gen pcie support.

Hopefully AM5 will see the introduction of some more ITX board options, which have well and truly dried up at the moment for Intel 12th gen and AM4.

        • +1

I just bought that ASRock board, they have all come back in stock to retailers since the last few days, eBay too

          • @portard: Nice - I reckon the ASRock H670M-ITX and Z690M-ITX are underrated boards for 12th gen so if you can get one of them for around their $280/$350ish price range, good option for an ITX build.

            • @xyron: Yep I got the Asrock z690 for $350 from JW, the only issue I have heard is that the vrm heatsink is a let down

      • I had a quick look at this one and apparently has a P1 bios limit of 125w (P2 up to 180w). Worth investigating further if you plan on using this with a K series cpu.

    • Doesn’t this case fit some mATX boards? Albeit low end one that didn't follow the standard and cut it shorter

  • This is very tempting, are there many compatibility concerns with this riser cable for the current generation and the upcoming one?

    • +1

Riser cable is latest Gen4 and should be fine backwards compatible with Gen3.

      • +1

        they mean pcie5

  • +7

I only wish it had atleast one USB C port in the front instead of two USB A

    • Yeah agree. I have this case and this is really the only infuriating thing I can say about it.

I also stupidly bought a mobo with only 1 USB-C port, so now existence is pain.

      • +4

What do you use that need more than one USB-c port?

        • I only recently got back into PC gaming after 10 years, and over the last few, I’ve daily driven a MacBook for work. As a result, a lot of my peripherals and hubs are all USB-C.

It’s not the end of the world, but having to move the PC to get at the back to plug something USB-C in is a pain in the ass.

          • @Thundaja: Thanks for the response. The reason I ask is because I’m just building a pc now. The last pc I had didn’t have any usb-c ports and I found it a lot less frustrating than I initially expected.

          • @Thundaja: I have a nr200p. I flip the case 90 degree to have the back io on top and the top fan/usb facing me. Now I can access all ports easily and a free desktop heater. It has smaller footprint too.

Bloody good price for a great m-iTX case and kit. I built my new system in this and it worked a treat and looks great on my desk

    • What are your specs?
I'm looking to build one as well but cant really seem to find 3080 FE cards anymore.

      • +1

I have the same kit and went an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra. Huge card, but it fits nicely and temps are really good. I undervolted it recently too and that shaved off 100W and 10C for the cost of about 5 fps at 1440p.

    • I thought m-ITX stands for Micro ITX, not Mini ITX

      • +6

There is no Micro ITX, it's Micro ATX.

    • +8

This includes the Case, AIO, 850W Gold PSU and PCI Gen 4 riser cable. If you can find all of that for <$399 I’m all ears.

      • +7

I think we should make it a norm for anyone criticising a deal to also include a link to better deal.

Instead of leaving us hanging like this.

        • +5

The V850 SFX GOLD 850 Watt that its built with has good reviews though.

        • +5

Not this one, its one of the best SFX power supplies available. Do some research before looking like a total nong next time.

        • You're getting a cooler master V850 SFX which is a fairly well-received PSU. Plus what you're talking about is something that might have been true 15-20 years ago lol.

    • Let me guess: Asrock Desk Meet?

      • Asrock cardboard bench desk.

    • Mind recommending me an alternative iTX case to look into? Doesn’t have to include PSU etc. Probably going to build one in the not too distant future, thanks :D

      • I believe the same case has gone on some serious specials without all the PSU and AIO etc.

        • Yeah I’ve seen them pop up! Was just curious if there were other brands/models some might rate up there next to this one (:

  • Alternatively you can get a much smaller case (volume wise) Jonsbo V9 which uses m-atx board.

    • Jonsbo have some interesting designs if you feel like straying from the main pack but their quality isn't quite on par with CM.

    • Less space for gfx cards in that case.

  • +6

Optimum Tech has a great review up for this case that covers building, thermals, and noise.

Worth a watch if you are considering this.

i saw his video about best itx cases he has reviewed and decided to check it out, thats how i found this deal :), great youtuber

I have the first version of this with an AIO which works very well after a fair bit of tweaking. This new version would have save time with fewer case fans to optimise. Great case design.

    • Where did you mount your AIO radiator? I've done a bunch of stuff 3d printing brackets to top mount it as well as a spacer for the PSU but haven't yet cut away all the plastic formwork that holds the case fans on the inside of the top piece.

My radiator is currently side mounted but I want to put it on top because it's a Z53 with the screen on the water block

      • +1

Side-mounted - the only option available really so it is not below the CPU.

  • +1

for the cooling do you have to refill the liquid every now and then?

    • +2

If it leaks onto your expensive electronics, yes.

    • +1

No need to refill any liquid here. It uses an All-In-One cooler (AIO) which means it is a pump, CPU block and radiator all connected in one closed off loop. You can't typically open them up without breaking the whole thing. If it loses any liquid, it means its broken and the whole cooler would need replacing.

Do NOT pick up the old stock Gigabyte Aorus DDR4/5 ULTRA Z690I ITX. There’s a whole situation going on where the board doesn’t work correctly unless you limit the PCI speed to 3.0. It also takes forever to boot. The model has been replaced by the Ultra PLUS and Ultra LITE but does not appear to be in Australia yet. - Source: I own the problematic board.

Edit: I purchased this case/AIO/PSU from PCCG for 369 a few months ago, worth every cent.

    • +2

Are you aware of the recall? I Purchased the old stock for cheap knowing about the exchange. If you get in touch with Gigabyte they swap it for a Ultra Plus. Last update was that the Ultra Plus exchange stock is expected in mid to late July.

      • where'd you pick it up from? Are gigabyte's replacement details on this documented anywhere?

      • I am aware of the recall but I bought mine via PCCG and they had no ETA on the replacement board.

  • +3

I've got this case, but it's been sitting there due to price of mini itx motherboards (I really should have researched before buying the case).

    • There are certain matx that will fit from what I understand.

    • hoping if anyone finds a reasonable board that fits they post it somewhere obvious - sounds like a few of us in the same boat

  • +1

How about motherboard options on the ryzen route?
