LG G1 77" Gallery Self Lit OLED Evo 4K Ultra HD Smart TV $4796 - Free Local Delivery / C&C / in-Store @ JB Hi-Fi

960

I believe this might be the cheapest it's ever been. Appears to be available for delivery.
Bought one last year when it was just released for $6396 and love it. The one gripe I had with it which was the cluttered, sluggish OS has been addressed with the most recent update.

Thanks OP just bought it, JB refused to match Appliance Central last week at $5750 so glad I held out!

    • Most likely as LG just sent out a $1k rebate for JB to sell them cheaper lol

      • +1

Yeah I'd say you're right, still glad I held out :)

        • +1

Yeah I've got the 77C1 for $5200 before black friday would love a G1 since mine is wall mounted 😭

          • +2

@solidussnake: That's why I wanted the G1 but to be honest the C1 doesn't look too bad with the slim mount

            • @imsuperimposed: Which one would be better - G1 77" or C2 77" if wall mounting?

              • +1

@amsaini15: C2 I'm not sure as I haven't seen it mounted, but G1 and G2 are both designed for wall mount so will look more flush. However the C1 looked good wall mounted with the slim mount. But has a bigger gap behind the screen.

                • @imsuperimposed: Great. Thank you. Now have to compare quality of screen and brightness between the two.

  • This is very tempting

  • Great price - picked up my 65" a few months back as the 77 was waaaaaay over, but at this price I would have stretched willingly!

  • Do these come with a stand ?

    • +2

I got mine from TGG and it came with the stand in separate box.

      • What type of stand comes with it? I see LG have a tripod floor stand which I don't want, I need just the separate feet to stand on my TV unit.

        • I got the feet and the flush wall mount.

    • +3

ditto, mine from JB came in separate box.

This years model (G2) doesn't come with a stand.

    • +1

      Mine came with a stand.

Info available online mentioning too stand refers to overseas sales. In Australia (at least), it comes with a stand. As an accessory, in a separate box. But bundled with the TV.

      • When did you get your TV delivered? Two people below who bought this week didn't get a stand, so I'm thinking they're no longer including them?

    • Thanks for the replies

      • Got one last week from JB. No stand in separate box. Asked in store and they said yes it does, but it definitely did not come with the TV when delivered. So worth triple checking.

        • You should be getting a stand. I got with mine

        • So what happened from there, are they sending you a stand separately? This is the only thing holding me back as wall mounting isn't an option for me.

    • Bought mine earlier this week. No stand

Edit: from Jb hifi. Called, they checked and says no stand

      • Did it come with feet at least? That's all I need to know before I pull the trigger.

        • Nothing at all. Just the wall mount. Before purchase, the store rep says it comes with both wall mount and stand/feet. I may rock up in store and get a definite answer

          • @jmel: Hmm that's a bit shit.. On the JB site under specs it lists "TV dimensions with stand" so I'm assuming you're meant to get a stand included, and they don't mention anywhere stating otherwise.

  • Thank op

  • -2

    HODL would be prudent

    • +2

      Why's that?

      • because we are heading into economic conditions many have never experienced before.

        • +5

Ozbargainers are typically wealthier than the average Aussie. Whenever eBay or Amazon has a big sale, it seems like there’s a gigantic spending spree judging by comments on those deals and the number of clicks each get.

        • +3

Damn did I miss a deal on crystal balls?

          • @Spendmore: maybe, but crystal balls not needed this time

            • +1

@Matt99: I think you are being a bit dramatic, people know interest rates rise and have been much higher before. As for inflation I think anyone feeling financial stress from this would not then be looking to spend 4k on a tv

              • -2

@Spendmore: Hey, if you want it now buy it now. I'm just predicting items like this will get cheaper as people cut back their spending on luxuries now they need to pay higher rent/mortgage payments.

                • @Matt99: That's a good point, I think the TV's are cheaper now than they were 2 years ago….I hope they get cheaper.

    • +1

JB had 165 of these two weeks ago, I'd say these will go pretty quickly at this price.

      • +1

I was going to go into store tomorrow and have a look first but may just have to impulse buy now

        • +2

They may get more stock but given it's old model who knows. I missed the C1 at $4300 so wasn't going to risk it this time.

          • +1

@imsuperimposed: Yeah same here, I decided to pull the trigger.

          • +6

@imsuperimposed: doubt we will get more of the older stock, now id say this will be the last of the old stock. be worth getting now if youre considering

      • I think they will go quickly too

    • This is going to sell out while you're still pulling a HODL

      • Send more money

Interest rates may keep rising this year. That may affect the population that would spend a lot of money on a tv.

But get in now before they are all gone!

  • Got mine at $5,500 about 2 months ago, so this is a heck of a saving. I would take it as they will certainly not push this model once they sell out.

  • This has a floor stand doesn't it? A tripod.
This or Sony a80j 77 for the win depending on your stand requirements I'd guess, also this is a little brighter than the Sony if you need more nits

    • +1

This comes with feet that act as a stand.

If wall mounting, G1 is perfect choice since its basically intended just for that or if you need the 4 2.1 hdmi ports. If you don't need those ports and don't plan to wallmount the Sony is a great choice.

      • So the G1 77" definitely comes with normal TV feet? Not the tripod floor stand?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Got one. Have missed so many of the other 77” OLED deals and I thought I wouldn’t see anymore of them. I’m glad this one came along

  • Thanks so much OP. I had almost given up hope of getting this with a good deal and had resigned myself to something that would stick out from the wall. Delivery on Tuesday.

    • @Steffs Did yours come with stands? My delivery is scheduled for tomorrow and hoping that it'll have stands as I'm not ready to wall mount yet. Previous comments saying that JB HiFi don't ship them with stands now is concerning.

  • What a bargain this has to be the lowest price and probably the last time you can get it.
None of my local JB HI Fi stores have this in store so I am so glad that they are able to ship it to me. Glad I held out I as I could have bought this from Hardly Normal for $5995 last week but I told them I'd think about it.

  • just bought one from jb earlier this week :(

    • +1

      Price Match guarantee

      • -1

        How does that work?

  • +1

I own one, it's amazing, you won't regret it

  • +3

whats the risk of burn in with these models?

    • +1

Burn in hasn't been an issue for years.. the tech in these models is very good at preventing it

  • +2

LG G1 77" Gallery Self Lit OLED

Good to know, getting sick of hiring midgets with torches to stand behind my tv

    • -1

      They are called "little people"

  • Thanks OP - missed out on C1 deal so I couldn't go past this one.

  • For anyone that just bought it, keep in mind that the wall mount comes with two pieces. The mount and a plate. The funny thing is the plate is not shown in any documents. The installation guy I used mentioned that they did another instal where it was missing. The shop refused to admit it was missing and he had no way to prove it. (it was a floor stock so likely they didn't package everything from the display).

That being said, I would advise against installing the wall plate if your stud distance allows. It doesn't allow to be completely flush against the wall. Leaves a 1 cm gap.

    • On the wall plate, it says something like “for Australian market” from memory. I had to use it because my wall stud is not exactly where I wanted it to be

If you have to tilt your tv slightly, the gap is less visible on the flush side. at least for me

    • I went through thr whole process of ripping my plaster up and adding some timber behind to get a flush mount. Then I opened the box and realised there was the wall plate for Australia…every video I watched was from overseas so never mentioned the wall plate. At least I got a flush mount I guess. If you want the wall plate I'm going to throw it out.

    • Would a 1cm gap help with airflow and connecting things behind the tv? I'm trying to picture it in my mind

      • It is quite tight. That 1cm doesn't help haha. I convinced myself that it is better for airflow XD

  • Wow, great price. Appears other outlets have also dropped theirs. These will surely go quick.

  • Love my C1 that I picked up for around this price back in Dec '21. This is a great deal for the G1. Jump on board people!

  • How does this compare to the Frame?

    • -1

      The frame isn't OLED

    • +1

Don't let the "Gallery" name fool you. It is BS for any art. If you want that, Samsung Frame. Else, for one the best TV, G1.

  • This thing is almost 40kg, anyone know what the 65 and 55" weighs?

  • +1

Bought one today. Got it for $4650 less $116 for ShopBack gift card so $4533 all up. Also got a good deal on the Bose 900 sound bar for $1050 less $26 ShopBack gift card = $1,024.

    • +1

Did U neg price at jbhifi?

      • +1

        Yes

        • Thanks mate.

I know a jbhifi manager that likes KFC

Will bring that into the neg

          Gunna try today. 👍

  • Great TV. Got it last year in Sept for $6.5k.

  • +1

Missed out on this not knowing that AGL rewards gift cards are not instant delivery. Word of warning for other potential users.

    • +1

Can’t message you as only just signed up, but try livechat. As per my comment below, was able to secure one at old sale pricing

      • Awesome. Thanks for the info. I will try live chat tomorrow as I think it's closed today.

  • +1

Anyone that missed out, I just managed to secure one at the same price.
I tried live chat earlier but the best they could offer was $5350.
Received an email shortly after saying their manager allowed them to offer the previous pricing given it’s last years model. Purchase has now gone through

    • +1

I don't think I'm destined to own this TV. I tried contacting through live chat but couldn't secure the deal. Congrats though on locking it down after the promotion period!

  • I've just had mine delivered and can confirm it comes with a stand/feet in a separate flat packed box.

  • +1

At the time of the delivery to my home the (feet/stand flat pack box) was not provided. The driver indicated that he would deliver this the following day. But it never got delivered and I had to log an online query via the website and follow up with a phone call.

It then got delivered to me.
So if you did buy this TV and you need the stand please make sure you request it.

The stand (flat box) also contains the covers/back plate should you not be mounting the TV and also covers to hide the cables.
