  • If this continues the success of the EM7000/EM7100 then that's a good buy!

    • +1

I was convinced this was misnamed and should be EM7200… Why did they made it EMM

  • Is this sunbeams version of the dual boiler?

    • According to description yes

    • +1

Not dual boiler, but dual thermoblock. Different technology but importantly it allows you to extract' and steam at the same time.

      • Hm. Did a quick search and it seems thermoblocks aren’t as good at temperature regulation. An issue to consider or not really?

        • Pid controllers are pretty accurate. The main difference for me is the speed to heat up vs a boiler. 20mins to reach ideal temp is a bit of a pain. If you set up a timer then you're wasting power if you don't use it as soon as it heats up and if you turn it off manually, it won't turn on again automatically. I've been using a dual boiler for 2 months after dual thermoblock and it's doing my head in. But each to their own.

          • @bargainshooter: A Breville dual boiler heats the brew boiler up in about 2 minutes and the steam boiler in about 3.5 minutes. But yes, some of the Italian domestic machines do take up to 20 mins.

        • I own a Breville dual boiler now, but I used to own a sunbeam dual thermoblock. The boiler is better, but not by a country mile. Get your grind settings right they're both capable of making the perfect cup.

          Sunbeam is half the price!

          • @ash2000: Agreed - spend the savings on a better grinder.

            I'm pretty happy with my EM7000 + DF64 combo.

  • Great price. I had an EM6910 dual thermoblock (several models prior to this one) for a decade, didn't skip a beat during that time.

  • ugh.. so tempted.. always wanted one that'll allow extract and steam at the same time but takes up so much more tabletop space to have an additional grinder.

Units with inbuilt grinder are just so much more space friendly.

Anyone with experience able to justify taking up the additional space?

    • +1

Similar to someone else here, I've had the sunbeam em6910 (few models back of this version) for 3 years now. I bought it 2nd hand for 125 including the external grinder. I love the dual thermoblock. The heat up time in like 90 seconds. I also like the sunbeam vs the Breville in terms of build quality. The 58mm portafilter feels high quality compared to the brevilles and delonghis.

The external grinders can make a mess depending on which one you get, but I had mine tucked away to hide that.

I just pulled the trigger on this prime day deal, even though there was nothing wrong with my 6910.

      • Same situation here, I have the 6900.
I think this is a smaller machine than the dual boiler, which always appears huge in the store when I look at it.
Very tempted at this price, my 6900 steam pressure seems to be getting on its way out…

        • That's the problem, I kept saying I wouldn't ditch my 6910 until it died… But it won't die. And I don't want to be stuck without a machine if it does.

          Couldn't resist at this price.

    • How many shots are you pulling?
If just one, get a manual grinder.

      • Something to consider i guess.. not sure i trust myself for consistency there though haha. Any recommendations for a manual grinder? would definitely solve my dilemma with space.

or maybe I'll just hunt around for a decently priced second hand smart grinder pro.. and if the space is an issue just sell it off…hmmm

  • +1

    This is a cracking price.

    • Cracking machine to

  • Had an older 69## model for near 10 years and was great.
Picked up the EM7100 back in 2019 which has similar specs to this. Use it daily and love what it can produce. Steam and extract at the same time is great, especially if you're making more than 2 coffees.

  • What's the included grinder like?

    • There's no included grinder.

  • It's in the description & picture :

    Included components: coffee grinder

    • That's a misprint. Further down you can see where it's compared to their other models and it says it doesn't have an Integrated grinder.

    • I recently bought this and complained to them about the misprint. That was about two weeks ago, still no fix I see

  • Excellent machine. I've had the e6910 and e7000, both are very easy to use, produce great coffee and parts are everywhere if you need them. Highly underrated.

Pair this with at least a Breville smart grinder pro and you've got a solid set-up. Ideally get something a little better like a Baratza Sette 270 and you'll never need to buy cafe coffee again.

Yes, Temperature can be a little hit & miss with a thermoblock machine, but at almost half the price of a Breville Dual Boiler (BES920) it's well worth the money.

  • +3

Make sure you get a decent grinder to pair with this machine. Breville Smart Grinder Pro is bare minimum what you need. Do not use Sunbeam grinder as it's not going to produce desired results at all.

  • I have the EM 7100 and its awesome, fast heat up time with the same thermoblocs as this one.
As others have said , highly under rated.

one additional note, I grind a pre determined weight of beans using a small digital scale and i get the perfect extraction every time. it can be a bit finicky but once you know the grind size and exact weight you end up with a very accurate and consistent result. ( im using 22.15g(aprox) of airjo sumatra with a breville smart grinder pro on a number 6 grind and it comes out great
    Highly recommend !

  • Bought.

My Breville Bambino went faulty after warranty so I was gonna get the Delongi Dedica Pump from Amazon $299.
Went with this instead with Cashrewards Cashback.

  • Can anyone compare this with the Max version? Thanks in advance.

  • Damn! My EM6910 died about a fortnight ago and I picked one of these up for about 780 and I thought that was a good price :(

  • Expired now price 900

    • Was just about to pull the trigger too. Bugger.

      • This is back in stock at the discounted price, I just decided to go for it, placed my order.

        • Me too!

2 week wait but I can handle that.

        • Yep cheers, also grabbed it. Says delivery Friday.
Also used 5% gift card on part of it so $550 all up. Happy days.

        • Cheers, go the last one.

  • +1

Expired again back to 900. Keep an eye out maybe it'll happen again

  • Mine was due to be delivered today but now it says “delivery date pending”

    • Mine’s due on the 23rd.

  • +2

Been using for a few days now. Excellent beast!

  • does anyone having issue getting machine into cleaning mode?
had to get amazon to send replacement unit. a few people having same issue on sunbeam and product review sites

    • I only just tried that today and the button combo doesn’t seem to do anything (hold 1cup + 2cup and press standby)

Edit: someone on product review figured it out:
      1. Plug in at power point.
      2. Turn on power at power point.
      3. Do not press standby.
      4. Press and hold down 2 cup button.
      5. Then press and hold down 1 cup button whist continuing to hold down 2 cup.
      6. Now press standby button and immediately lift hand off all buttons. It then starts.
