  • There isn't a store within 500km that has your order in stock. Please select delivery, or try a different postcode or suburb.

    ;(

    • Same. I just went to store and ordered at counter, tho can prob do over phone too?

  • +1

ooooh this is soooo tempting. Been really wanting a pair of BT headphones to replace my QC25's. But really wanted something with aptx. Such a pitty because Sony's are so good, but lack of aptx is just stupid.

    • Wait there’s no aptx?!?!

      • +1

Nope, the MX3 had aptx, but MX4 and MX5 don't have aptx. Sony were/are trying to push there own codec I think, or they don't want to pay the licence.

        • +3

No reason to have aptx on Android since 8, every phone has LDAC. Aptx is now obsolete.

          • +1

@plmko: Also doesn't work with Windows 10 unless you have a separate USB BT adapter that supports it.

          • @plmko: Just for reference @plmko is correct about LDAC being better than APTX bitrate wise.

            Bit rate comparison;

            AAC: 250 kbps
            SBC: 328 kbps
            aptX: 352 kbps
            aptX HD: 576 kbps
            LDAC: 990 kbps

But at least these support LDAC. Bose QC35's don't have APXT or LDAC.

      • No need.

    • +4

I mainly wanted them over the XM5’s because the new ones don’t fold

      • +31

My headphones don't jiggle jiggle, it folds

        • My charging cable wiggle wiggle fo sho

        • this song makes me triggered

      • I am an Xm3 user and I actually am a little jealous of the XM5's as you don't have to fold them into an awkward position to put them into the case.

    • This man still has a set of still-functioning QC25's in current year. Last I heard is that the right earphone is always the first part to go.

      • +1

Mine are also going strong after 5 years and daily use. Great headphones but time for wireless.

      • +1

My QC15's are still going strong. Just replaced the ear pads

      • +1

Bose replaced mine out of warranty after I sent them an email linking to a post on their support forums over the earphone defect. This was in 2019

  • +1

    decent price, tempted

  • When this down under 300 I will consider

  • I wonder if Officeworks will pricebeat a coupon code to $319

    • They don’t PB coupons sadly. Only listed price.

  • +1

Sure these have been superseded by the XM5s which look newer and dont fold, but considering the last deal for new (non-seconds / non-refurb) was $319 in March 2021, and the way these things review, this is pretty sweet and I pulled the trigger because of the fact there arent common deals on the brand-spankers.

Brick and mortar store means easier returns and issue resolution too right?

Funnily enough I bought a pair 2 days ago before this deal, when TGG had a $60 credit offer and these were still $395, and I explained at the counter that I couldnt buy online, and was in store to gain the deal. (delivery/C&C both unavailable via website because lack of stock - yet local stores showed 'stock soon') They were nice enough to give me a $60 discount in lieu of the store credit, so $335!

Stil waiting on stock, so I havent taken delivery yet. Am not in hurry, so glad I was able to lock in a good price.

FINALLY! Thanks OP, had an $80 voucher from a recent purchase. These on $255 is def a bargain.

  • cashback ok?

  • +11

Reminder you can still get them for 285 by price matching doddsby at officeworks. Would strongly recommend not buying from them directly as they have banned from ozbargain and the site in general just looks really dodgy (only accept bank transfer). I called officeworks last time and got them delivered for 285.

    • Not jbhifi tho. They call this store a scam and refuse to price match

    • -3

That's a fake website and is actually banned on OzB

      • +2

I said that. Officeworks still price matched them for me.

        • How recently was this? And did you do it over the phone or in store?

          • +1

@vandlin: May 25 this year. I did it over the phone and had it delivered no issues. Many others said the same on the previous ebay deal.

            • @ewand7: same here, late May i was able to pricematch at OW

            • @ewand7: I’ve called numerous officeworks stores and they won’t PM over the phone and ship it to me. Apparently they say there’s no possible way

              • +1

@smr23: You have to call the call centre not the actual stores. I forget the number but it's like 1800 Office or something like that. You order over the phone effectively.

                • @ewand7: I did that but it just re directs me to my local store for some reason. I will try again later

    • I’m going to try this today and see whether it works

    • Around 10 June I tried at the Elizabeth street Officeworks in Melb and the Elizabeth St JB Hifi and both rejected it due to being a scam site.

    • +1

I just called and they said they could price match it, except they don't actually have any stock at the moment

      Edit: in nsw

    • Worked for me at JB Hi Fi Bourke Street ~3 weeks ago

      • *Not beat just match

    • +1

Thanks mate bought one today for $285 after price beat from Officeworks at Mittagong.

  • I bought a pair from Sony seconds @ebay $309 - 5% discount. I've been using 2 pairs of Sony seconds for the past 3 years, no issues at all and only the box had slight damage.

    • +1

I got my xm4s refurbished for $264 delivered. Bargain and they work like a charm, no issues

    • Same here. And can cop the silver ones for slightly less even most of the time.

  • +2

I really wanted to buy the XM4s after reading reviews, but ended up buying the Bose QC45. When I tried the XM4s on in store, the insides of the ear cups would touch the top of my ear lobes, no matter how I tried to adjust the position over my ears. Apparently this can be common for some people. Worth trying out in store before buying.

    • +1

Are your ears pointy at the top and round down the bottom?
      😀 jokes.

      • Hmm, not that I've noticed? 😅

    • You lucked out if you're planning to use the mic. Bose much better

      • +1

Oh! Yes I use it for video calls. Didn't know about the mic quality, just assuned they were comparable.

        • bad enough that it cannot be used for video calls. Particularly worse on PC. I could start on the bluetooth issues (with 3 different adapters), but let's just say my Bose were massively more reliable for PC use.

  • Necessary comment; microphone is horrible

    • Awesome, so tax drivers wouldn't be using them :)

      • work from home, PC usage main issue, but yes :)

  • Is anyone else still waiting for their order to arrive?

    • +1

I ordered it and they emailed me saying theres a 3 week backlog until the product arrives

      • +1

Thanks mate. Got worried for a second because I never received any feedback

  • Any ideas when these are likely to go on special somewhere again? Does this model come down in price fairly frequently or should I just grab them at $395?

    • They're regularly on sale at the 300-320 price mark. The historic low for these was 270 last year. The new model just got released so I'd expect a sale just around the corner

  • +1

    No delivery date yet!
My 3 local stores have next day delivery. If I'd known this bullshit 3 week delivery was a thing I would not have ordered. Crap thegoidguys fraudulent stock scam

    • Mate the second I was told a 3 week ETA i canceled my order and just ordered from JBHiFi for $395. JB now stocks them for $439 so honestly im happy

      • why the sudden price hike?

        • Becuase supply vs demand. Its shitty business but still business. A rise of people wanted headphones and they had limited supply so they decided to increas costs. And all similar businesses including office works increaed it to $439 or around that. Originally RRP was $549.95 but decreased over some time down to $395 this year but sadly like i said back up to $439 (RRP rn)
