Victoria - free at testing stations if you need them.

  • +1

Says that the coupon for free shipping is expired.

    • Fixed, it should be working now.

  • Are RATs still free at testing sites? I am in VIC and maybe 3 weeks ago picked up a free set of 5 just FYI. Not sure if it's still available, but if it is then it's a cheaper option..

  • anyone used it? how's the review?

    • +1

      Paying through the nose!

    • +4

      Negative. So yeah.

  • These don't work as well for detecting BA4/ BA5

    • Do you know which ones do?

      • +1

        PCR tests are better

    • +4

Where have you heard this? I've not seen information that any rat tests are less effective at being picked up by BA4/BA5.
(Not doubting you, just want to make sure it's not coming from hearsay)

      • Just google it. It's everywhere.
BA4 and BA5 are not acurrate using RAT tests. You have to get PCR tests.

        • I did - genuinely not finding any trustworthy results at this stage, but maybe I'm not searching the right terms.

  • +2

I am waiting for RATs to go down for $1 a piece.

    • +2

      Waiting tor RTX also.

  • WA you get them free at clinics

    • Even at the kids ice show. Got between 20-30. They gave you as many as you could carry

  • It won't allow check out ?

    • Hi there, is there a particular error you are seeing when checking out, the system is not showing any errors that we can see, can confirm that orders are hitting our system fine.

      • Just stuck on the payment screen… You see a llittle circle and not going through for 5 mins

        • Same here

          • @quickling: Should be fixed now, sorry it looks like I underestimated the amount of traffic that would hit the website once this deal went live, you might need to close your browser and open a new browser session to make sure it uses a new session on the website. Any further issues let me know.

  • +4

Most RAT tests are no longer accurate at detecting the new strains so it's a waste of money for the most part. Better to get a PCR test done instead.

    • +2

Clunge is usually good at picking up new strains, but is a different scenario.

    • +1

Where have you heard this? Not doubting you, and you're right re PCR, as my doctor said "trust a positive rat, but not a negative rat" - but I haven't seen information that BA.4/BA.5 are any harder to detect?

    • -6

      Agree.
This might be an unpopular opinion so I'm ready to get negged, but why are we so obsessed about Covid still when the rest of the world has moved on as is treating it no better than the flu?
We all know what we need to do if we show signs of the symptoms, whether flu or Covid, ie stay isolated and try to protect the ones who are close to you, until the symptoms disappear. It's common sense. Something we should have done with flu as well pre-covid. Why does everyone feel the need to get tested when it does nothing- certainly doesn't treat the virus. It'll just tell you that you're positive. What you have to do after is no different to what a sick person would normally have to do.
      Neg away

      • +2

My son had an appointment at a specialist the other day, and the requirement was both of us to email a negative rat test before we could attend. Mostly I wouldn't bother getting tested, but the bigger issue is that "what a sick person would normally have to do" doesn't really happen, does it? I'm still standing next to people at the supermarket who are coughing and sneezing everywhere.

        • -1

True, and to be frank this requirement by the specialist seems overkill. People can easily fake the test even if you were to believe that RAT successfully detects the virus/new strain. Also from my understanding it was mandatory for all medical professionals to get the vaccine. If we are still to live in fear after the vaccine, what was the bloody point of it all?!!
Just want to let everyone know that i'm not an anti-vaxer neither am I naive or ignorant to deny the number of people that the virus has killed in its initial phase. But isn't it time we put this tests, lockdowns etc behind us now? Just gotta be sensible to keep the sickness to ourselves I think.

      • +2

Its an unpopular opinion because it borders on stupidity. ‘We have moved on’ is pure gaslighting, covid has not moved on at all.We can’t move on from this even if we wanted to,

        • +2

8,000 deaths so far this year. It's still well and truly with us.

      • I think the reason behind the testing is because a) it helps to know what you're dealing with b) medical leave/travel etc can be impacted. There's a strain (s) of covid which is called long covid which takes weeks to recover with many who catches it feeling lethargic or even unable to work, unlike earlier strains where people bounce back within 3-4 days if vaccinated, so being correctly diagnosed helps. Unfortunately, due to all the new variants, a lot of RAT kits are now inaccurate. There's quite a few ABC articles reporting on this https://amp.abc.net.au/article/101236168?fbclid=IwAR3LqDbOq4…

      • Go visit the local hospital emergency and check the queue.

      • Don't talk sense here, ppl don't like that.

        +1 from me..

    • +2

Swab your throat for Omicron and it'll be more accurate than the nose.

  • +6

    heh clunge

    • Any deals on Wellies?

    • +3

Pretty sure anyone that's ever seen the Inbetweeners smirks when they see this listing.

  • +1

Still waiting for them to hit $1 (and then still have no use for them)

  • +8

Out of stock, have contact our supplier to see if we can get more stock.

    • Can you please let me know if you get some more in

    • Just about to purchase- showing out of stock all

    • Any chance we can repeat this deal?

  • What are we supposed to do with tests that are being provided by schools? We have no use for them and can't sell, ads get deleted automatically on FB.

    • +1

You're still getting them from schools? I haven't seen any from the school in ages.

      • I already have 15 packs collecting dust, and just gotten an email from one of the schools that they will be distributing again.

    • +2

Give them away to people who need it. Or hold on because you certainly will need it in the next 4 weeks

    • Why don't you have use for them? Don't you need to know if you and family have covid?

      • Could not care less. One does not need an actual test to report themselves having covid to get another poison treatment exemption.

        • You couldn't care less if you infect other people?

          • -2

@fredblogs: It's endemic, no one can avoid it, it's outright dumb to pretend otherwise. It does not mean I am going to be spluttering around if I am unwell, but neither it means I am going to poke myself with some stupid test over every cough. Shake it off already, mate, we are back to square one!
I bet people buying these useless tests are at least triple pricked, what a marvellously effective treatment they have received! 🤣

  • For those who want them fast, Amazon sells them at $3.21 per pack here https://www.amazon.com.au/Clungene-Covid-19-Antigen-Rapid-Te…

  • Reminder that PCR is free.

  • Strains evolve, old RATs might not detect a new strain and could display false positive. Please do a PCR to confirm.

    • +2

I think you mean false negative.

      • You're right. Sometimes being in cyber security sucks.. false positively

        • Ooh, that's a well paying industry according to whirlpool!

  • -3

    are these still a thing?

  • +1

Code no longer working on 10 pack now $54

  • Have other people got theirs? I haven't and they are ignoring my follow-up email it seems
