Waiting for DSE to bring back the glitter pack 8xAA for $20 shipped. Or better still, bring in a deal for the Sanyo XX!!

    • The glitter ones were an anniversary edition .. don't think that it'd come back too quick. I bought 2 of those and then when I went to use them found I actually mostly need AAA - which seems more difficult to find deals on.

      • only bought 1 pack, with i bought more.

      • Get the turnigy AAA from hobbyking. Good reviews and very cheap.

    • The above deal are Glitter ones if you look closely.

    • I know they're not cheap, but if you really want the glitter pack then Battery world stock them.

Why do we have deals galore on cells, but hardly anything on a decent charger

    • +2

Would be handy to have a reasonable charger deal. Plus some AAA's.

I've not done too much research on these but are they low self discharge?

      • I got the MAHA C9000 from protog and some AAA turnigy from hobbyking.

    • You want a deal??

Maha Powerex MH-C9000 $63.00 delivered from Germany!!

      http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261019…

Just bought one. Me so happy.

    • Maha C9000 is what I have and I love it. LaCross is another brand that seems to have good reviews. Google them and then decide which charger you want and go shop for it.

      • I've got a La Crosse BC-700 and I'll happily vouch for it. Currently at $33.26 USD (+ Delivery) from Amazon.

      • I'll second that on the La Crosse BC-700 - works very well, got it from Amazon.
But the Maha looks nice too.

Second for the MAHA C9000. Excellent charger

  • Question if the electricity "ever" ( in case of war) went off can i recharge it with car battery ( the big thing in the car idk)? not trolling … which one you recommend

    • +2

only if you had a AA battery charger that support 12volt power source. Good luck with judgement day :D

      • i aint need any luck Sir, God's grace is enough.

        • Hah! Then you won't need a car battery!

        • as i said if the electricity goes out, if im dead and went to the "hot seat" i ain't need any battery am i.

        • What the flower? How many times have I told you not to watch 2012 after smoking weed?

        • I don't believe the world will end in 2012 by another great flood, and i don't smoke weed ever. So you might stop being an idiot.

    • two of the 18650 battery chargers have car adapters. But that doesn't help you. :( Good for those that love powerful torches but you'll need a lot of them my torches only last 1 hours per charge, I guess I need a lower powered torch for endurance.

    • You might be able to power the Maha C9000 from your car.

The back of the Maha C9000 says "Input: DC 12V 2000mA".

Alas, car batteries are somewhere between 12.0V and 13.8V typically, depending on how "full" their charge is, and whether the car engine is running.

If you've got some electronics skills, you could whip up an LDO linear regulator, to run from 13V upwards, and producing 12V out. Worst-case dissipation at 13.8V is 3.6 Watts, so a heatsink will be needed. Use an LDO regulator designed for automotive use, as the 13.8V supply will probably have lots of transients, some going up to 60V.

      • Puff - Russ and his perfectionism, make a cord to go in the ciggy hole, she be right mate!

        • If the C9000 wasn't so damned expensive, I'd try that too.

It would PROBABLY be okay if the car wasn't running, so no transients (at least until someone activates the central locking). I take no responsibility if you fry your charger.

this is a pretty fair price to charge

Dick Smith still has the above going with two packs of four for $19.99. Shipping for two packs is about $1 less than two packs of the above to my postcode. I like the coloured ones, but for those that need some batteries heres another option.

  • Out of Stock

    • Cancel that. Back in stock.

  • bought one yesterday, $3.99 to Mel
