Good to lift sheets for ripping on your new dewalt table saw. 👍

    Upvote for you.

  • I'm interested to know who would use this? I've used manual suction lifters before and they do a great job without needing expensive and heavy motors and batteries etc. Can anyone shed some light on why this exists?

      lifting glass or windows

      • lifting glass or windows

Did you even read my question?

This has been done for decades with manual suction lifters, what need is there for a motor?

        • -3

because people like fancy new stuff

the nokia 3310 was fine, but now we have phones which can take your temperature…….and still make calls and sms

          its called "technology"

because people like fancy new stuff

Still doesn't answer the question. We like new stuff because the new stuff does new things (like taking temperature instead of just making phone calls). This is not doing anything new, it's doing exactly the same thing for more cost, effort, maintenance, and weight. I'm trying to figure out why anyone would pay money for that?

            • -1

@1st-Amendment: because its fancy and new, do people need any other reason

            • +2

@1st-Amendment: lol weird hating hill to die on but whatever.

It literally takes away the manual labour of setting your suckers on panels, has loss of vacuum alarms, allows single handed vacuum pulls in awkward locations, reduces fatigue, increases accesibility. etc.

Asking questions is 'dying on a hill' to you? That is weird…

It literally takes away the manual labour of setting your suckers on panels…

This is first decent answer I've received so far. Imagine hating on people simply for asking questions…

Pot kettle black. You're hating brother.

One of us is. I just asked questions, you're the one calling names…

                    • @1st-Amendment: 'I just asked questions'

Lol, you went on some anthropormophioc tangent and then touted the Dewalt skin is 'not doing anything new, it's doing exactly the same thing for more cost, effort, maintenance, and weight' which was obviously wrong as per my list of features/improvements it brings.

Sowwy for calling you names xo

Lol, you went on some anthropormophioc tangent…

The only person going on a tangent here is you trying to dig yourself out of a hole you put yourself into. Tell me again how offended you are that someone dare ask a question…
Here's a tip for next time so you don't dig yourself the same hole over and over again. If there is a question mark there, it means it is a question.

                        • @1st-Amendment: Which tangent did I go on? What hole am I in?

I never said you didn't ask questions, just that you also claimed the Dewalt skin is 'not doing anything new, it's doing exactly the same thing for more cost, effort, maintenance, and weight' and then hid behind " iM jUsT aSkiNg QuEsTioNs'

I think the manual ones lose suction whereas the battery ones you can pretty much keep on sucking?

      • Yes, the Dewalt has an alarm if it starts losing suction.

In a shop or job site with lots of manual handling it might make sense if it improves safety, productivity and reduces fatigue. Same could be said for lots of specialty tools. Reviews are very positive
edit bunnings price updated, that was quick

  • I've installed a new bathroom screen and it would have been very helpful as the first one shattered but nothing that you can't lift with good $10 gloves.

    • I wouldn't use this on glass as it will most likely crack it.

  • I saw professionals using Grabo lifters.

  • Can these be used for climbing glass façade buildings?

    Cue mission impossible music

    • Queue

      • +1

Cue is correct. Queue can also be correct, depends on intent of the sentence.

        https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/cue-vs-queue-what-is…

        "

        cue
        2 of 5
        noun (2)
        1
        a
a signal (such as a word, phrase, or bit of stage business) to a performer to begin a specific speech or action
That last line is your cue to exit the stage.

        cue
        3 of 5
        verb (1)
        cued; cuing or cueing

        transitive verb
        1
to give a cue to : prompt
        cued the band to begin"

        https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cue

        • +2

In the context of the sentence, I’d say cue is actually more correct. The other interpretation is that the mission impossible theme is going in the “queue” of music, and I don’t think that’s what he meant.

  • Something doesn't add up with Bunnings.

You can get the skin only for $499 - https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-grabo-suction-lifter-…
Or get the kit for $397 - https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-grabo-suction-lifter-…

Shouldn't the pricing be the other way around?

    • +1

They dropped their price of $599 to $397 to match Sydney Tools so you can’t claim a 10% price beat.

      • Cheers, they are now price matching, just changed the description.
