I was wondering when the heymix product spam was going to start for this week.

There are plenty of incidents linked to these chargers. Also lots of people on Ozbargain have reported that these chargers often fail early. Why not pay extra for a safe charger that is unlikely to fail?

Lastly if you look at the price that these sell in China you will see you are paying a huge markup and when you consider that they are still making a profit in China, there is no way they are building these chargers without cutting corners.

These chargers are always "on special". The RRP they sell for in Australia is so much higher then there cost they can always put them on special. Should I post a deal every time I see Scanpan on sale for 50% off.

        • -4

List one incident - you can't because you're peddling nonsense

            • -7

@Aureus: Not even the same product - pathetic effort, mate. We'll keep waiting for you to post the terrible incident.

              • +2

@[Deactivated]: That is like saying Car Model A, B, C has issues with the engine exploding, but there is no evidence that Car Model D has issues, so it must be safe..

This charger is no doubt cutting all the same corners.

              • +6

@[Deactivated]: Doesn’t matter on whether it links to the correct reviews, the brand HEYMIX has been damaged by reputation on people experiencing their chargers getting exploded

There are plenty of negative reviews on other HEYMIX chargers that would support it

                • -3

@BargainsGrabber: Surely there is some media coverage of this very dangerous Heymix charger situation you speak of. Links?

The positive reviews overwhelming trump the negative reviews so your decision making based on the Amazon reviews is flawed.

                  • +2

@[Deactivated]: Sure, it’s called Amazon reviews on HEYMIX chargers
Search any of their products on Amazon, and there’s your answer

                    • -1

@BargainsGrabber: So all I need to do to win this argument is link you to some positive reviews and then state, "There's your answer". Good game.

      • +4

Like I said in another Heymix post. I bought three of their crap products. All three have issues.

  • +4

bought 2 heymix chargers, both heymix chargers broke (1 actually had smoke and blew the RCD for my house).

From what i see many others have bad experiences with heymix,

Not only is it e-waste, it's dangerous e-waste
    Stay clear from heymix.

  • +6

can we stop posting this awful brand on ozbargain? they're a safety hazard

    • -6

Please post the safety incidents regarding Heymix - any news item would be good

      • +3

U a rep? Or sad the community is negging your bargain?

        • -7

Just waiting for some evidence rather than OzBargain hysteria

        • +1

I reported the deal but came back as no association found. I guess it’s the latter

          • -3

@BargainsGrabber: Nice reporting there, soldier, You're doing God's work.

      • +2

for a start the comment above mine by white puma…

then all of the terrible reviews on amazon. oh and my own experience where I bought 3 of them, and they all died within 1 month. 1 also sparked and smoked - a safety hazard.

you know by law you're required to state that you're associated with the product? because its pretty obvious you are, no sane human would defend a pile of junk like you are if they weren't

        • -3

I've read some lovely reviews on Amazon about Heymix chargers and I'll point out that the overwhelming majority of reviews are very positive. Your review logic is horribly flawed.

            • -2

@telf22: You failed miserably to prove your point so in frustration you've resorted to name calling and insults. Did I read that right?

In defence of North Korea, it's a lovely country. You're conflating the country with its tyrannical communist party. Reviews can be tricky sometime.

              • +3

@[Deactivated]: LOL I cannot say I'm surprised that the person that thinks HEYMIX is a great brand also thinks that North Korea is "a lovely country". This hole has become awfully deep for you.

                • -1

@telf22: Steady on, you're in danger of sounding a little racist there. It is a lovely country. The people and the countryside. Again, you're conflating things. This is why I can't trust your word about Heymix.

It's obvious that user error on your part is to blame - no one is that unlucky. You should be more careful, you're probably overloading your extension boards. Maybe take a little Udemy electrical course?

                • @telf22: Honestly North Korea isn't as bad as the United States. Mass shootings, crime, corrupt politicians, poor wages

                  • @SpeedRunnerLink: That's the spirit, Comrad. Down with those US imperial dogs. Corruption free North Korea is the place to be. A safe society, vibrant political system, and fabulous wages. You should see the malls.

I'm negging this due to safety issues with the brand. While it is possible that there may not be issues with this particular model, why risk it?

    • -2

Good on you, Roger. Hysteria and safety first.

      • There's literally zero hysteria, but I do care about safety.

        • -2

You're like a frontline worker, Roger. So much care.

Except you're sitting at a desk somewhere typing nonsense about a product you know nothing about and your 'safety' concerns about this brand are based on a handful of poor Amazon reviews. No hysteria here, folks.

  • +1

Guys, I’m not associated with this brand but have been using two charges to charge my iPhone 13 pro. Haven’t found any issues yet.

  • There are not enough reviews to properly judge this model.
That said other Heymix chargers have reviews that indicate high failure rates, DOA, smoke, overheating. In particular, the ones with smoke, sparking, overheating aren't seen on other crabs of charger.

It's just not worth taking the risk.

    • -3

      Ok, Karen

      • +2

There's more than enough evidence that Heymix are a dodgy brand. Here's a compilation: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12351781/redir

It's just a dodgy brand. There's no need to take the downvotes so personally.

        • -2

It's great brand and you're making up drama to sound relevant. You're trapped in a hive mind and you're not thinking for yourself. Move along.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Lol. You're letting a cheap price warp your thinking.
Go find another brand of reputable charger with overheating or failures involving shorting or smoke. You can't - that's a Heymix special.

            • -2

@ihfree: Careful crossing the road, Karen, I heard it can be very dangerous.

              • @[Deactivated]: Can you find those reviews? Does the ozbargain community have stories of failure for more reputable brands?

You've let a cheap price warp your mind and put any rational thinking on hold.

Such irony calling me a Karen.

                • -2

@ihfree: You're still talking and everyone has left the building, Karen. It's over, go home.

                  • +2

@[Deactivated]: Lol, get a hold of yourself!

Based on reviews, other popular chargers fail but not with the same rate or in the same catastrophic manner. A more reputable brand would likely issue a recall.

                    • -2

@ihfree: You're talking nonsense and making things up again, Karen. Your hysteria is getting tedious. You have nothing to fear but fear itself.

                      • +1

                        @[Deactivated]: Well, they're actually well documented -
                        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12351781/redir

Many Heymix products have low ratings(<4).

Feel free to stop replying or present something to actually counter the bad reviews or low ratings.

                      • +1

@[Deactivated]: Oh yeah, I keep forgetting this one. Heymix are also king of coil whine. Do a site search of ozbargain or search for charger coil whine and see which brand comes up.

Low quality product which reduces your quality of life.

Lol OP defending this post like it's his first new born, my god what a dumpster fire great entertainment 5/7

  • Based on the comments wondering if the USB C hub I got will be safe and good?
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09PZ6JJHY

  • I'm not getting in on the argument, I just want to know, what's a premium brand gan charger? Belkin? Anker? I need one for a new mini pc purchased overseas. Happy to pay a quality premium. Tia

    • -1

Both brands are good. All of my chargers and cables are Anker

      • +1

Thanks, I ended up buying some Zyron chargers, thinking they are perhaps in between the likes of Anker and Heymix but who knows.

I do have some Anker cables though, they've all been great.
