Would kill for a good 5700x/5800x Deal but everything on ebay has met Jack

    • Same old story of Jack and the Jackstalk every damn sale

  • Get AMD Ryzen 7 5700G or wait for new stuff? Im currently on very old 6th gen intel. Will mainly be using for productivity (running multiple VMs) with light esports gaming. Ram not an issue as will be getting at least 32gb (or 64gb) at a minimum.

    • If we're talking VMs I'd recommend one of the more high end CPUs. 5700X can be clocked higher to be a 5800X for less or the 5900X/5950X are top of the range. Alternatively you can wait for Ryzen 6xxx as they'll be better and should push 5xxx prices down further.

      • but when 6xxx, there is no point going 5xxx cpu since it is EOL socket..
then might as well go for the 6xxx, which has more future proofing upgrade path.

        • Still plenty of value and it's not going to degrade drastically in performance for VMs. You can run those on 5 year old Xeon's no problem.

          • @Clear: yeah but no point building PC based on an EOL socket… just to save some $

how much value would actually be saved since that system will be dead in terms of upgrade path..
and this person last pc is 6th gen intel, if they are due for a new pc, better to go for newest socket that would last them longer than EOL socket.

-new 7xxx cpu also has support for DDR5, USB 4, pcie 5, newer chipset etc

  • Can I use 5600G instead of 5600X? works the same?

    • Brother's 3500X died, been looking for something to replace it with.

If you don’t need the graphics I’d avoid it.Not that impressive as a pure CPU.

        Get a 5600/5600X

    • 5600G isn't as good as the 5600X in gaming due to the addition of the integrated graphics resulting in half the cache and a lower boost clock is less. It'll still certainly be better than a 3500X.

      • does intel have same issue with their CPUs that have integrated graphics?

  • Looks like they've jacked the price now. Beyond frustrating.

    • Seems so :( Gotta be quick with these sales as there's usually a listing that slips through their cracks.
