  • That was gone quick

I snagged a black unit and with the extra 10% coupon applied it came to $21.89

    • Same here

  • For the price the specs are damned good, but the reviews are all over the place with this thing.

    • True, but when you look at many other brands - even Belkin - the percentage of 4/5 star ratings are similar. I do feel more comfortable with brands like Belkin, but at this price I don't mind rolling the dice.

I thought Heymix was considered a fire hazard?

    • +3

      Yes, but at that price…

Who needs a house when we saved like $50, hey! :D

Who needs a house when we saved like $50, hey! :D

Make sure you have insurance, and this $25 outlay will get you a brand new house for free.

    • Yikes. Did I miss a news article or something about it causing a fire?

Solid brand Heymix, ignore the Karen army

    • +2

When you say it's a solid brand, what are you basing that on? The reviews and reports online? Or your own, contained, limited, personal experience?

    • Is calling other people Karen a new Karen strategy?

      • -1

I'm becoming a little uncomfortable with your stalking behaviour. Follow someone else around.

        • lol, typical Karen. Are you going to call the manager?

          • -2

@ihfree: No, I'm just going to block you because your weird fixating behaviour is escalating. All the best to you. Get some help.

  • Waitlist full

    • try the other colour?

        Tried both

  • the plug itself is on the bulk of the charger unit itself. For me this is not ideal because it takes up so much room at the powerpoint. I prefer having a lead connecting powerpoint and the charger unit.

    • Nothings stopping you champ.

    will it explode?

The wait list is just in place till the settle the pending lawsuits

  • Karen army reporting in - Hi WrightRightWriteRite.

    That's a low score (4/5) for a charger.

From a quick look at the 1-3 star reviews:

    • DOA or failing quickly
    • Issues with multiple devices
    • Coil Whine

My personal favourite of the reviews:

    third time I've returned heymix.

Conclusion: IMO, this particular model is deserving of a neg.

I picked one of these up with the 10% coupon, so $22.89.

I will run it at full output for a few days on a load tester and see if it holds up. Certainly Amazon reviews suggest some quality control issues (and I was aware of this before purchase), but through Covid supply chain disruptions I have experienced the same even with known quality brands.

I also snagged the slightly smaller 65W version (USB C and single USB A) for $22.10 during prime day. It has happily output 65W on the load tester now for a bit over a day. No fire… Potential quality control issues aside, it seems like a nice little charger for the price.

    • I ran both chargers for 48 hours at 65W output with no issues. Nice stable voltage too.

The single USB-A charger gets noticeably hotter - it is also a big smaller, so running hotter is expected.

No problematic noise or coil while from either. You have to get your ear basically right next to it to hear anything. I am quite sensitive to charger noise too, and have had to remove chargers from the bedroom in the past because of it.

They seem like quality units, and the USB-C cable that comes with the charger in this deal is quite nice. It's a little larger, but I think the better buy of the two thanks to the included cable, and the dual USB-A ports.

None of this means Heymix hasn't had quality control issues, or that some models have more problems. But mine at least seem great, especially for the ~$23 price (each) I paid.

I received my charger yesterday and it's great. No noise whatsoever, it's silent unless you press your ear you it, and it works perfectly.

I also like the AU to US adaptor and the whole product seems decent quality.

Let's see if it lasts now.

    • Lol why would somebody neg my review? How strange….

      • People are weird. I got plus votes for posting that I was going to put the charger on my load tester, then negs for reporting back that it ran for 48 hours at 65W without an issue.

        • It's like we are being negged because we actually like the product………as well as giving constructive feedback.

Some real strange characters in here aren't there.
