Darn it baught it a few weeks ago for a bit more…

Can't say much about it other then it seems to do its job well.
Cool thing is if you have the usb plugged in to your computer it shows up as a battery on your taskbar and has some more readouts in hwinfo like voltage, wattage etc.
It only does this on windows drivers.

Cons are that it's not pure sine wave, and it has these annoyingly bright green light strips at the front.

The main reason why I chose this one over one with higher rated power is it runs on one standard 12V 7Ah, which is only $30 replacement in the long run.

If you want a better UPS though, you can sometimes find older pure sine wave models on Gumtree for less, but you may have to replace the battery.

    • whats the noise level like for this?

It has a bit of the 50Hz hum which changes with with different certain power loads, but other then that theres not really any other sounds.

If you're susceptible to the 50Hz hum then maybe look elsewhere.
It may just be my unit, but I would bet it's likely across the range.

    • Yep $30 at Bunnings. I'm looking forward to seeing the extent of it being "non-user replaceable".

Well I cracked mine open just out of curiosity.
I guess it is "Non-user replaceable" in the sense that the usual cracking open the front won't let you get the battery out (a bit of dremel work and soldering longer battery cables could fix that).

To replace battery you'll need to remove the front. Remove usual screw at bottom and jam a large flat head into the clips and pry. Then pull up and front should come off.
Then you'll need a long shank philips head screw driver to open the main body. (I stopped here as it's late and effort.)

The battery is a LEOCH DJW series (I couldn't make out Ah) and the size looks like your typical 12V 7Ah.

Also if you hate the lights, looks like you can remove a pin on the ribbon cable to the front and it'll get rid of the lights.

Regarding the bright green LED lights on the front, if you single press the power button it will toggle between bright and dim.

          • @Pareto8020: Thanks, that's good to know.
I'll confess I never read the manual (and also the UPS sits in the lounge so it makes for a nice night light).

  • Been eyeing one for my NAS and was disappointed I couldn't find anything good during the recent Amazon Prime sales. Thank you!

    • Hand in your ozb badge…. I bought the exact same UPS for $121.74 + CashBack 16% (= $104.03) during Prime Day + Cashback 2hr promo
      Just arrived yesterday.

      • Must have been sold out by the time I saw it. Congrats to you.
