Good torch, picked up another. Thank you.

  • +1

I bought from them in the past but a few comments in the previous post are concerning. I barely use mine so hopefully it doesn't die.

    • +7

Can't say I've experienced any issues with mine. Though I typically only use it when I'm in the underground stormwater drains ;)

      • +1

I guess it’s no big deal if you’re in an underwater stormwater drain and your torch conks out… just flick on the light switch. Similarly, if there is a sudden deluge of rain upstream in the network, basic boogieboarding technique gets you home without issue

        • +1

You make it sound like an impulsive trip down the drain. Always have spare torches, there are often lights down there anyway, it's not underwater and as the old saying goes… when it rains, no drains!

          • @Clear: That’s kind of disappointing… I was picturing an Indiana-Jones-type scenario. Your approach is entirely too sensible. Obviously the Health & Safety peeps are going to insist on a helmet and a snorkel, but let’s face it — they’re just never satisfied

      • How often you in the stormwater drains?

        • OzB meetup?

          • @tharlow: Had a few Sydney OzBargainers visit months ago and we were going to. Sadly it was raining and it had 6 feet of water.

Bought one last deal. Awesome flashlight for the price. Cannot complain at all.

  • +1

Really great torch and well worth the price.

  • +2

I used mine a couple of times and was really happy with it until it died out of nowhere, it says it has fully charged but it doesn't turn on, contacted Hekka but no resolution yet, I want to buy another one but also having second thoughts

  • +1

$40 after applying the code. They probably fix the price.

    • +2

The code appeared as an AU$18 discount for me at the bottom of the page, resulting in total price of AU$22.57. With the right card paying US$ may be cheaper.

Not the most intuitive, but it does work.

    • +2

I thought the same but did not realise the apply coupon page has a tick on the righthand side next to the Coupon that needs to be selected

      • +1

        Thanks, that works!

  • +4

Judging by the previous post, you'll have a hekka lotta trouble with their non existent customer service if things go wrong.

  • +7

Bought from Hekka, used once, after a month it stopped working, battery protection tripped, lots of messages, videos of proof etc, they didn't want to replace it. They finally told me buy a new battery from a local retailer and they would have paid for it.
I sent jaycar link for same type, no, too expensive, if you want we can refund $14.

        • Hi PeneltyBoxAgain,

          Greetings to you.

As confirmed with our CS team, they are not able to find your order information with "Order #
          250-5891966-7397416 ".

Our order number usually starts with" #HK" or Number "8"
          For example:

          HK11141

          828401658851147

May you have a look to see which store you bought from so you can better find solutions?

  • This might be a dumb question but why don't they put the clip the other way, then you could clip it to a baseball cap and use it as a headtorch.

    • +2

You can put the clip the other way around where it is. Might stick out from you cap a bit, But it would still work.

    • +1

The're pretty heavy for that, you might want to go with something using AAs or similar for a cap mounted torch.

    • +2

I've done it before works well but it sticks out into your vision a bit depending on the type of cap you use. It's weight (touch over 127g) isn't insignificant but if that doesn't bother you the clip has enough tension to stay on there provided you aren't head banging.

  • +1

Hmm… Trend Micro gave lots of warnings about this site (malicious), but saw this supplier is well used on OzBargain, so just got the deal. Hopefully, we all get a good batch and Hekka is not getting 'seconds'.

  • +1

Got 1 last time. Good buy. No problem so far.

  • +1

Got one last time and it’s amazing! Bought another one for father in law :)

  • Coupon code checks out, is this a deal you make with hekka? The coupon seem to name after you?

    • Yep I asked them for a deal.

      • Can't wait to see what the coupon code will be if you asked for a deal from Nudie orange juice.

  • The page is not loading for me.

        • Hi Gimme,

I have PMs turned on now.

      • Hi Becky, I just received "Your order …is on the way"
How long should it take to Sydney? Is it from AU or China?

        • +1

          Hi taki,

It usually takes 10-15 business days from China to AU.
          You can find details here:https://au.hekka.com/support/shipping-policy

Had one for a while that works well so grabbing another, thanks OP

  • +1

Disappointed and sorry to hear about some users having failing torches. Hopefully support can rectify the issues.

I for one, however, can report that my torch purchased in March is still a-ok. Not heavily used, but certainly used a lot more than just a couple of times. Likely close to 2x a week or so.

Am crossing fingers that it stays functional

  • +1

Bought one off Amazon recently, was on sale but more expensive than this deal, only used it a couple times but if I encounter issues at least my after-sales support should be better.

  • +1

It is average at best, disappointed with the brightness level.

  • +5

Purchased one in last deal, took one month to arrive, and the torch DIED on me after 3 months which I only been using handful of times. Good torch when it was working, BAD seller if you want your money back from Hekka.
Buyer buy on your own risk.

    • -2

Your dates are off. Last deal was only 3 months ago. However your timeline is over 4 months.

      • Ordered in Jan22 deal, arrived in Feb22, Died in May22, only used handful of time, most of time was sitting in storage. Hope it clear things up.
Will continue to make people aware of this seller and product whenever it came up, until the seller is refunding my $25 lost in the drain.

1200lm claim is insane. I have compared this to a 400lm torch and I can say they are about the same brightness. Or at best 500lm. The build quality seems good tho.

    • It's not as bright as my ledlenser 1000lm. The wuben also only holds 1200lm for 1 minute before stepping down.

      • ledlenser 1000lm

        isn't that $200 torch?

        • At RRP it is but can be found a lot cheaper. I got it for about $90 after cashback and Catch sale.

    • What setup are you using to compare the torch lumens?

The C3 and the various Wuben lights that use the Osram P9 have been pretty well tested online. So if you are not measuring close to 1200 lumens (even just as a comparison test), it might be faulty.

One option to help confirm is to measure the power draw and compare to figures others have got. Perhaps yours is not running in turbo, and starts off stepped down to 500 lumen.

      • How do I enter turbo then?

        • Ahhh. The C3 is automatically in turbo (1200 lumen) when on the high setting, and steps down to 500 lumen after a minute to avoid getting too hot. There is a manual on the website.

          https://www.wubenlight.com/products/wuben-c3-1200-lumens-fla…

I am guessing you are not comparing a measurement of lumens, rather just how it looks?

I was suggesting that perhaps yours is faulty and doesn't start in turbo. But perhaps not in this case. Another way to check if you can't measure the current draw is to leave it running for 1 minute and watch for it stepping down the brightness - but it can be hard to compare by eyeball, as your eyes adjust. You could likely capture it on camera - especially if you can set manual exposure settings.

Lumens are the measure of all the light outputted, and needs a somewhat controlled setup to compare between torches. For example, the lens / reflector setup in a torch can make it look a lot brighter, or less bright, than another torch that uses the same LED and has the same brightness. In a different environment, or at a different distance, what was originally the brighter looking torch may not look as bright. The lumen rating is typically the LED, so some is lost depending on the lens or reflector.

          • @Prong: I will see if its stepping down today. I never ran it longer than a minute to see this. All I did was compare the light output of a Duracell (or eveready I think) 400lm torch by focusing it at different distance objects outside at night and also by focusing at a white ceiling inside the house. Both felt almost the same with C3 being a little bit brighter but not 2 or 3X bright. The battery was almost full when I did the test.

Happy with mine, got one last deal. Use it daily for work, does the trick well. If anyone knows of a good holster or mount I'm keen to know!

Sorry to let you know that the code "Wuclear" has limited stock and it is used up now.

Code "HEKKA0706" for USD$16.99 still works for 100 more stock.

Mine turned up today DOA, order 820361658747501
Battery will not accept charge, removed the protective packaging but the charger shows green (fully charged) but the battery is flat - checked on a volt meter.
The torch works with another battery installed (lucky I had one) but the one shipped is DOA.
Odd it shows green and just wont charge.

Replacement cost of battery is the same as the torch.
    Very dissapointed

  • +1

Just received mine, same as above. Battery dead on arrival. Charger "recharges" the battery in about 4 seconds but can't pull power back from it (Seems the battery just goes back to sleep after receiving a charge). Neither the repair or test functions work on the battery. Got a ton of 18650 laying around so I can just use one of them but pretty crappy to send out dead cells.
