Tangent Duo Clock Radio is $99 (was $429) with Free Shipping from Rio Sound & Vision (Melbourne)

50

Even better than Tivoli Model Three - already bought two for parents/in-laws :)

2-year warranty - http://www.tangent-audio.com/en/model/91_Duo-clock-radio.htm…

Review - http://www.smh.com.au/news/reviews/tangent-duo-clock-radio/2…

Again, no need for digital radio after you hear and feel the quality of this :)

There are no plans at this stage to switch off AM and FM radio services - digital radio is not a replacement for analog radio.

This is…. an ordinary radio from 2006?

Any reason one would buy this considering you can get DAB / Wifi radios for a little more? To me this seems like a dinosaur — like paying for a vinyl recorder when you mostly only listen to streaming music.

      lol…

Any good deals on VHS recorders there too ????

At my place the DAB reception is pretty choppy, while the am/fm are better. So a good analogue radio will have its uses.

    • Totally agree. I don't see the point speding $100 on an analogue radio when you can get a DAB+ receiver for around the same price, and especially when you consider the extra channels that are now available on digital.

IMO, sound and build quality will only get you so far. At the end of the day, I think most people listen to radio for the content as opposed to anything else.

imo content will only get you so far. at the end of the day, most people want to hear it nicely and appreciate sound and build quality.

        :)

There would be, if you wanted to listen to the digital only stations :)

  • There are still some DAB from the pioneer deal

  • Digital radio hasn't made it any further north than Palm Beach in NSW, and that's 500km away.
