  • interface is ok but not the best for dynamic mics like the SM7B

    • Which software or DAW are you using? Focusrite low budget interfaces are always fantastic in their class.

      • I tried this interface once but then swaped over to my go XLR mainly because it has Midas preamps which has high enough gain to run a SM7B with out any kind of static its very clean audio. That being said it could be a software related thing

        • Sometimes you'll notice issues when an interface is actually better because it picks up so much more. You definitely need good software with a decent mixer to clean the sound. My go to interface is Focusrite and my favourite DAW is Ableton Live. Fantastic combination.

          • @[Deactivated]: pretty sure I need a cloud lifter for this interface SM7B requires 60Db for gain to run well. I don't think this interface is able to got above 55db of gain

            • @kungfuman: Yeah you do need an audio booster.

              • @[Deactivated]: thats why I use my "Go XLR" mixer which can produce 80db of gain, which is more than enough to run a SM7B mic

  • Bought it $169 2 weeks ago

  • What's the difference between this and Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen? Just the iPad compatibility? Thanks!
