Bont Riot+ Cycling Shoes $162.47 (Was $249) + $20.65 Delivery @ Bont Cycling

190

Bont's Entry Level Cycling Shoes. These rarely go on sale. I've been wanting to own a set of these for a long time, would prefer one of their higher end models but for this price I'll try the Riots. They have the heat moldable sole and a single BOA clasp. The sale is from the parent company website. Looking around at the other online cycling shops I cant see these cheaper elsewhere.

Bloody good shoes, with the added benefit of heat molding.

Only downside was the wide fit didn't like my wide feet.

How does one shop cycling shoes with wide feet?

It is a guess-and-return? Do stores carry wide sizes to try on?
Wanted a pair for over a year and places I call want me to buy shoes before I even get to try them

        > eligible for return and full refund – excluding shipping – within 30 days of being received. Return and refund of shoes from our Closeout section will incur a return handling fee of $15.

Shit like this makes it even harder to get a good sized fit :(

      • I found the only wide fits that worked for me were lake's but yes its a bit hit and miss.
The downside to these is the carbon extends up the side of the shoe, so is a little less forgiving than leather.

        Stiff af though

Absolute steal and for three bolt cleat riders, it's the best bang for buck shoe option depending on whether the feet get along with the shoes as it has Carbon Sole, Boa and heat moulding.

  • how are their sizing like?
they have standard, wide and asian fit, what's asian fit?

I'm going to try out their foot tracing sizer - https://shop.bontcycling.com/trace-my-feet/

      From they're website-
      WHAT IS ASIAN FIT?
Asian fit is 1-2mm wider (Riot Series) and 3-4mm wider (Vaypor series, Zero+, Helix) in the forefoot area compared to standard width and features a narrower heel cup along with flatter instep/arch. Asian fit and wide fit share the same width in the forefoot.

Consider the information below when deciding if Asian fit or wide fit is right for you:

The Riot and Riot+ series, including Riot buckle, Riot+ road, Riot MTB+ and Riot TR+ is available in two distinct shaping profiles. Standard fit is our regular width while Asian and wide are built around the same last. This means the Riot and Riot+ series have what is effectively a Standard and Asian/wide offering. The Riot and Riot+ series are not available in narrow or double wide.

  • do you need anything special to adjust the heat moulding, or it will just adapt when riding or a hairdryer is enough?

You put them in the oven without the insoles for 15 minutes from memory, pull them out, insert insoles and stand in them.

if you're after the black pair, Bikebug has a few sizes for $158.99 and would also be free shipping

    • Just use PayPal to cover the return.
Always liked Vaypor S, the riots would be good to test out the brand.

      • This deal requires shipping to be added for them just to ship your order to you. BB has free shipping. Nothing to do with returns. Even if you do use paypal to cover return, Bont charges a $15 fee for returns unless it is a full price item.

        • That's a lot of fees.. Just get from BB then (although you only have a choice of black for that price. Could always ask to price match).

Even better if you can go to their store and try on, luckily there is one at Woolloongabba. May not have stock but a few other binge shops stock them.

I've heard Bont are really stiff btw. Personally find the giro empire slx very good and comfortable.

It was good when BB had their 20% off sitewide. Even the other sizes at $210 were cheaper than this deal after delivery. If you have the ebay afterpay code available, you can also go through the bikebug ebay page for an extra $10 or pay with discounted GC. I think PBK also had limited sizes in the white/black colour slightly cheaper as well sometime in the last few months.

  • anywhere to try them in store?

  • How could they not have a gravel/adventure shoe in their line up yet!!

  • 15% off at bikebug if they have riots in your size
Ranges from $135.14 - 178.49 delivered dependant on size.
Other bonts at BB are better discounts. Black vapour S in sz 44 is down to $243.94 which is a no brainer if that's your size. They don't stock Asian fits but do have wide fits.

Bought a pair of 44’s for the same price off BB 109 delivered. Cheers OP

can still get some from pushys ebay for $150 after $10 ebay code

    • Code handy.. the bont riot (not +) would work out to $100 and lighter (both still a bit heavy)

      • No idea how the riot+ with boa is 28g heavier than the standard riot.
